  1. When My daughter started dating, all the neighbourhood boys were terrified of meeting "The Dad". And if they weren't scared before meeting me, they certainly were after. Most boyfriends did not last long.
  2. Pan fried moose is a great late night snack

If I eat meat my health says lean, low fat. I suffer now when we go for dinner if too rich. Lost 43 pounds since Jan.

  3. I am so deeply saddened and sorry to hear this, Cliff. I never had the pleasure of meeting your wife, but I knew she meant the world to you. You have our family's deepest condolences my friend. Please take care of yourself. I know it is hard to do at times like this

  5. Dogs are a lot of fun when out fishing
  6. Glad the jigs were up to the task.
  7. Have not had a lot of time for fishing this summer. Busy with family, canning and tackle making. Last Sunday and this morning I've finally had time to hit the water with my son. Last Sundaymorning we we vertically jigging smalljaws. Not big numbers, but a dozen odd respectable fish. THis morning we were on the lower river and it was a tough bite. 4 fish tween 3 of us, but all quality. Biggest fish goes to my 73 year old mother with a 26" walter. I pulled another walter at 22" and the son popped 2 small jaws.
  8. Long time no hear. Hope you are doing well.
  9. Wht do Canadians have to repeatedly pay for American problems? Simple. THe oil companies closed up most of the Canadian refineries. We have to ship our oil to the staes so they can refine it for us and charge whatever they want. Thank you Mssrs Mulroney and Reagan for NAFTA.
  10. There's no life like it.
  11. I hope they can at least redeem themselves on the long weekend? Oh the shame!!! if they can't
  12. Good old Dazzlin Don. Used to love digging through the stacks in his record shop.
  13. I'm a PC kinda guy. Ditched all mobile devices on retirement.
  14. Any time out with your kids is great, regardless of what you do together. The fishing is just a bonus.
  15. There is another OFC (Ontario Fishing Club) on facebook.
  16. You might be surprised at what you might find. I spent a fair chunk of my younger years on 6 Mile. My cousin was probably the last person to catch a laker there back in 72. Weighed in just over 10lbs. There are lots of other fish you might find that deep. Ling, smallies, and yes, walleye
  17. Guides are a big plus. Diversifying what you offer in activities over more than one season . Diversify the food plan to not only offer American or housekeeping plans. Throw in a weekly fish fry or pig roast
  18. I can't think of a better way to spend the morning.
  19. Glad to hear the fishing was great. Glad the jigs you got worked well. Sorry to hear the accomodations were sub par. Very thankful for the honest report.
  20. Nothing wrong with a good feed of squab
  21. I used to run the poultry show here at the local fair? Looks like a racing or homing pigeon. There are a lot of hobby breeders here in Southern Ontario. At least 20 breeders here in the Niagara region alone
  22. May the fishing be plentiful where you are going, Brian.
  23. Cherish those times together every opportunity you can. Time will march on far too quickly.
  24. It's Monday morn and I've finally caught my breath. On Saturday my son finally tied the knot. Lord knows what it takes to make that all happen. What a great way to celebrate fatherhood. Took us all of yesterday to clean up. Almost done planting the pepper patch. Also been busy helping my son produce 1000 jigs per week. There certainly has been no time for fishing.
