I've got a 1996 Evinrude 50Hp i love it the previous owner disabled the VRO system witch just means they disconnected the oil line running to the pump and sealed the intake on the engine side. I'm thinking of reconnecting the VRO cause it really is a good system as much ppl beg to differ. When i do reconnect the system i will be still running pre-mix til i know the VRO system is running and i'm seeing oil consumption on the reservoir. Plus i also think some of the OMC outboards had a service gauge and others had a Beep system for low oil

So at low speeds and turning the steering wheel your hearing more of a popping noise or is it more of a click and is the noise consistent? If it's more of a clicking noise turn your steering wheel all the way to one side then look at the axle boot it might be torn, if it is then you need new axle. If it's more of a popping noise when you turn the wheel from one direction to the other in a fluid motion then your top mount on the struts are gone.

using a longer shaft on a shorter transom will create unnecessary drag on your outboard lower unit and reduce overall performance to your boat. Using a short shaft on a longer transom will mean your outboard will not have enough drag in the water to operate properly in turns and high speeds. I think this is the better of the 2 ways to clean a pike Less contamination with the guts of the fish leaving for a cleaner piece of fillet. Just me but both ways are good, just personal preference

your best bet is to get a 3 bank onboard charger that way all you gotta do is plug it in when your not using it. They will charge your trolling and starting batteries to the correct levels and keep them maintained. I heard good things about the ProMariner Prosport 20 Series or i think even the bass pro series is great. Dunno much about the Canadian Tire Brand Nautilus charger yet but i think some members have it.

Nope just a small Chartreuse Grub 2" and a Red jig head to match the body of the grub and a small split shot about 6" from the jig. i was very surprise to get them on the Grub usually there on minnows til mid June. The majority of Slabs i catch are about 10-16". hehe opps more pictures to come as i hit them harder
