  1. Few things better than watching kids have fun outdoors! Great report.
  2. For those who may not have the number, here it is: 1-800-563-7711
  3. Not even listed in their on-line catalogue.
  4. Most places, I've found that DEET is fine. But the little buggers that breed near the causeway on Mitchell Lake seem to have built up a resistance, one good slathering only lasts about ten minutes, max. The most tenacious I've run across yet.
  5. Looks like a great day was had by all! And some awesome pics and vids to keep the memory alive. Hope you cleared that before an osprey laid eggs in it.
  6. Looks like a high-tech version of a coracle. I'm betting a Welshman was involved in designing that!
  7. Just keep a video camera running. That way people can see both the fish and the immediate release. You still have the proof to brag about, and no guilt. Just don't hang around the same spot if you keep latching on to OOS fish.
  8. Better than contributing to large organisations like the cancer society is to donate directly to the hospitals, or even the individual labs, that do the research. Less money gets used up on administrative costs.
  9. Nope, and I'm not replying either... RATS! I just did. But we still need pics.
  10. http://www.durhamregion.com/news-story/5608677-pickering-man-fined-for-keeping-illegal-fish-lying-to-officer/
  11. Needs a head, camp stove, and a cooler.
  12. If you're taking a shorter route you'll probably pass through Port Perry, there should be something there that fits your needs. Closer to Barrie, I've heard nothing but great stuff about Hot Stacks, just north of Cookstown on 27. http://hotstacks.ca/
  13. Nothing to say other than
  14. Welcome aboard, Nikki! You obviously don't know the kind of gals I hang around with.
  15. Parenting: you're doing it right!
  16. Here's the Angler's Atlas web page on Constant Lake, the one that simonl mentioned, it has a depth chart and a report from last year: http://www.anglersatlas.com/lake/157318
  17. The Ontario Fishing Regulations Summary doesn't mention the ponds, and there's nothing that I could find on their web site about restrictions.
  18. Only from one waterbody to another. If you're taking them out of the Simcoe/Couchiching system and they're going back into it, I don't see a problem.
  19. Not necessarily, in the other thread I mentioned the poster said he had contacted the ministry, and they didn't know. That's why I posted the maps.
  20. Have you tried cleaning the rim first with some steel wool? If the rubber has been out of contact with the metal for a while there may be some corrosion that's preventing a good seal.
  21. I should add that Frenchmans Bay is definitely FMZ 20, because it's specifically mentioned in the regulations for then zone. Page 101 of the summary.
  22. Nope, Oshawa and Whitby harbours are considered FMZ 17, here's the maps I posted in a similar thread last week:
  23. Got checked by a CO a few years ago when shore fishing near Moore Falls. Checked our licenses, had a chat, wished us luck. Then we heard whining and crying from the bushes about fifty feet away. He nabbed some guy with three lines in the water.
