If you want to try searching yourself, here's the Google page I got in my search: https://www.google.ca/search?num=100&newwindow=1&site=&source=hp&q=photo+printing+toronto&oq=photo+printing+toronto&gs_l=hp.3..0l5j0i22i30l5.4507.10841.0.11267.23.19.0.4.4.0.161.1831.15j4.19.0....0...1c.1.54.hp..1.22.1684.0.IIHHvDsmYlU

There used to be dozens of places, digital has just about killed them all off. A quick web search found this place, they say they can do up to 60 inches. http://www.torontoimageworks.com/services/printing/

I seem to think that I was a member in one of it's previous incarnations, then dropped out for a few years. That was back in the days when the interwebbies would often block mention of Lake Nipissing because of letters 3, 4, 5, and 6.

here's hoping for a break in the clouds
Dave Bailey replied to spincast's topic in General Discussion
There is a general rule among Toronto area astronomers: If there's something neat going on, Toronto will be clouded out. I can remember, years ago, the Toronto chapter of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada checked the records of weather and astronomical events, and the number of cloud-outs here was well above random chance. I'm not implying some sort of supernatural malevolence, but I don't bother getting excited any more. -
Forgot to mention - my first lake trout ever, 24". George Lake, Killarney P.P.
-
I'm guessing about 6" - 8". I've caught a smaller pike than that, and it didn't have stripes, just the regular spots.

My sister alerted me to this little guy yesterday, it was swimming in a small area above the falls at The Gut Conservation Area. I've never seen a muskie fingerling, so I don't know how vivid the colours are. Looks like it had experienced a run-in with something that thought it was food.

22" smallmouth, just 2" short of the Ontario record. Wish I had been able to weigh it.

Take the signs down ESSA TWNSP. Enough already.

Instead of targeting ALL anglers, why not try a financially crippling fine for littering? And I mean crippling. Even impounding the vehicle in which they brought the crap they dumped. And yes, I'm serious. -
Anyone else think that this is totally whack? We share the longest undefended border in the world, we have a free trade agreement, we speak the same language (well, except for maybe some areas in the backwoods of Arkansas ) and yet we can't get together and harmonise our standards for such things? As far as I know, if the FAA certifies an aircraft in the US then we basically rubber stamp our approval. But don't you DARE get caught wearing an American approved PFD in Canada.
-
Seems that cop needs a few lessons in public relations. And if I read that original post correctly, I still don't see the problem. Unless I'm mistaken, PFDs are filled with closed-cell foam, which floats just as well even if it doesn't have a fabric cover. So why the bother about a tear in it?

Killarney smallmouth, nearly a record!

Okay, let's try this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4v_ErZrt_Y -
Another possible scenario: The government does not, as rumoured, do away with license-free fishing for seniors. He turns 65 and starts fishing again. CO asks for identification, he shows proof of age. How many COs are going to take the time and effort to check his name against a list of those banned for life?

Just a little one, but man, did he ever fight! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCnHK6AhKEY&edit=vd

Nice. A juvenile yellow-crowned has been hanging around Col. Sam Smith Park in Etobicoke, haven't been out to see it yet.

Wow, those are giants! Got some more info on that wreck from http://www.boatnerd.com/swayze/shipwreck/a.htm : Glad you had the sonar to find it. Would be a shame if you didn't know it was there, dropped an anchor on it, and caused more damage. Not like it's going to be salvaged, but still a shame to wreck a wreck.

There I was, innocently drop-shotting for smallmouth, when I noticed a big loop in my line on the reel. Okay, flip the bail over, and just keep paying out line until the loop goes up the guides. Meanwhile I'm drifting out into deeper water. Okay, there goes the loop, flip the bail back and start reeli... WHOA NELLY! This feels big. Vibration on the line, definitely not a snag. Up she comes, and it was a beautiful 24" lake trout, first I've ever caught. Didn't intend on playing it that long, but my net had got tangled up in other stuff on the floor of the canoe, took me a while to get it free with one hand. Lake trout are off limits in George Lake, so I just grabbed a quick measurement so that the park staff would have some more data for their files. Jamieson Dyer, Park Warden, was quite pleased to find out that they're apparently healthy, but smaller ones would be of even more interest, as that would be a better indicator of successful breeding. Anyhow, enjoy the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9o6K4HWfsts

If I recall correctly, black terns are currently on a rebound from a very low population. They are widespread, so keep looking and you'll eventually get a sighting.

Killarney smallmouth, nearly a record!
Dave Bailey replied to Dave Bailey's topic in General Discussion
I had two break off that felt very big, but didn't get to see either one. Out of all the rest the largest was maybe a pound. But there is quantity in George Lake, and that counts for something in my opinion! -
Killarney smallmouth, nearly a record!

Thanks. Might not have been so laid back if I had known how close it was to the record, didn't find out that until I was telling Jamieson about it. Up until then I just figured I had a personal best, and didn't want to go overboard. Like the old football saying goes, "When you go into the endzone, act like you've been there before." -
Now THAT... is a bass. You haul in one like that and you're glad it didn't fight more, that could bust right off with a good head shake.
-
It's been a very good year for me, but that might be because I've lucked into some opportunities that I might not normally get. Let's not forget that the cold spring pushed summer back by a a couple of weeks at least. We were at Killarney from August 9 to 17, and the mosquitoes were out like it was still July.

Ontario record - 24" This one - 22" Weight unknown, but it was HEAVY! Couple of angling faux pas here. You'll notice that I'm using a rather poor net. Damned if I can find my rubberized one, so the back-up was drafted into service. Second, well, I kind of dropped the fish. My arthritic wrists were a bit sore that morning, and a sudden strong wriggle overcame my grip. Oh well, it was none the worse afterward. It was reported to the Park Warden, a nice chap named Jamieson Dyer, and he was thrilled to see how big the smallmouth are getting in there. He was thrilled? Hell, I was over the Moon with my new personal best! Setup was my usual quick and dirty drop shot, circle hook palomared about 2ft up the line, and baited with an XZone Slammer. Toss it around some rock falls, and just wait for the fun to begin. Enjoy the video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4v_ErZrt_Y
