  1. Yup, that Mepps sure was a Giant Killer. Congatulations LefroyFrisherman. That's a real beauty you caught.
  2. I've watched past World Carp Championships on Youtube and read accounts from famous British Carp anglers who have participated in them. I'm blown away by the scope of the event and sorry that we won't be getting the event because of a Minister's poor lack of judgement.
  3. I wouldn't exactly say 'little" Savannah. lol Congratulations Bruce. And I'm sure we'll start seeing more than just pictures of the fish you catch on the message board in the upcoming days. I just became a Grandpa myself about 6 weeks ago. Pretty awesome.
  4. Are there any other smaller streams in the area. I remember one year, we went to fish the Big Otter and it was blown, so we travelled a few hours to Deer Creek and it was nearly gin clear. So I was just thinking if there was another stream, or perhaps a Conservation Area lake that would be fishable, you could still salvage the day. Goodluck!
  5. How was the fight? If it jumped, it's an Atlantic. If not, it's a Brown. There, it's settled.
  6. Too cool! I saw it a few days ago, but I never put two and two together and realized that was you. Nice Clive! Good job on your site. And even better work on the little one( lol )! Congratulations!
  7. I'd love to contribute to this thread but I've got a parade route to plan!
  8. All the sports "Insiders" aren't such insiders after all, eh.
  9. I will not contribute to this thread.... I will not contribute to this thread.... I will not contribute to this thread....
  10. You can defend the insurance companies as much as you want. But if that woman left her house for 4 days, had a neighbour keeping and eye on the place, and her pipes froze, I woudl expect it to be covered. That little clause about someone checking in everyday is probably one that catches 95% of their customers. Sorry, I think it's nasty.
  11. Nice job, Steve. You adapted and suceeded. Real nice colours on the trouties too, and some nic pics to remember 'em by.
  12. I agree with you, Lew. Even if it's a largely ceremonial position, this is a new world and our young men and women in uniform are being tageted in ways they never were before. I think arming them would be taking appropriate steps in these 'new' times.
  13. WHAT!!!!!!!!!!????????????? ...oh wait, I read leagalize 'cannibals.' Nevermind.
  14. Ha Ha Ha...I remember that! The regs were so simple in that skinny. flimsy little book. Man, now I'm gonna go to the video store to rent a VCR player and watch Jaws! lol
  15. That would infuriate me. But any action on your part, other than just shaking your heads at her stupidity, would bring you down to her level. I commute a couple hours to work every day. I spend a lot of time shaking my head.
  16. I've had a central vac system and, honestly, I think a good ol' fashioned vacuum cleaner is better, handier and less of a pain. Hauling around that central vac hose and plugging it in here and there is more trouble than an ordinary vacuum, imho. Good luck on your search though, Costa, if you do go that route.
  17. As much as I LOVED that tune in the days of my youth, I would NEVER play that for my daughter and tell her; 'Yup, that's when music was good." LOL Thanks for the memories, Joey.
  18. Wow, I find the reaction to this way over-the-top.
  19. Hey, thanks for that Gerritt. Ya, I've tried the salt cod before as we have a great seafood dept. at our Fortino's grocery stores here in Hamilton and they carry it. So, I'll give it a go! It's funny, but the only people you every see purchasing it are older ethic women. Obviously something they've been cooking with since their childhood. Last question( I promise ), what is EVO? Thanks again.
  20. Hey Gerritt, I just saw this post for the first time. Your recipe( and presentation)looks awesome! Two questions. 1) Why do you salt cod? Wouldn't fresh( or even flrozen )cod be easier? And 2) How much of the hot pimento sauce did you use? Thanks Pal. Now to get to some of those other recipies! MMMMMmmmmmmmm
  21. Ya, the Senators are fully capable of missing the playoffs themselves without any help from the Leafs. lol
  22. That's a sad tale, bigcreekdad. It really shows that when companies go public, their service to their customers dwindles. It also is usually worse for employees, who have to do more work because there is less of them( and thefore have less time to spend with customers ). Sure publicly traded companies are focused on their customers, as long as you understand that those customers are their shareholders. .
  23. Really beeeeautiful work there Roy. Must be well satisfying catching a fish with something you crafted yourself, much like the flytiers would. You know, even that photo of all the jigs would look great framed!!!
  24. Ok, after that show, I needed to take a couple of aspirins for my head. That's was the most confusing sporting event I've ever watched!!! Sorry, but when the drivers can't figure out what's going on, how can the fans? I just think the Nascar executives over-thought this one. I love the way the TV crew kept trying to spin it as a positive but honestly, I thought all the confusion by the drivers and the race out of the pits only to stop was all rather embarassing.
  25. I did it all myself.
