  1. I don't mind that stuff, and without chocolate bars/almonds whatever WAY more of the $$ actually goes to their cause.
  2. Have a friend with severe sleep apnea - diagnosed at 35'ish - and the machine was a life saver. He swears by it. Not sure if he had headaches though..
  3. Maybe it's me, but why not just carry a tape in your pocket?

    Bass

    3 lbs
  5. Been there many times and never seen walleye. Doesn't mean they're not there, but there might be another crotch lake. It was primarily a lake trout and SMB lake, but pike were introduced to downstream yrs ago and they're now probably the dominant fish (at least #'s wise) in that lake. Go downstream in your canoe and you'll see more pike and bass. Go into booth and others and you'll have better chance at trout...though there are big pike in there now as well. There are also some brookie ponds nearby that you can hike into.
  6. btw -- 170 is a great price. I paid 280 at lebarons a couple of yrs ago. Also wonder why so cheap, and why they're discontinuing the middle size.....but mine has been great.
  7. My two cents...Revo toro winch was designed for big baits and big blades. It has a smaller size but the power of a bigger reel. The downside of having gears for power like that (in a smaller reel) is that it is a slower -- doesn't take up line as fast. There are 2 other musky reels in that series which have the same body but different gears. I have the middle one - revo toro 5.4 or 5.1 or something - and so far it has been a pretty good all-purpose reel. There's a faster one for burning, but with that you get less power. I'd get the middle one (and they recently discontinued this line, so should be cheap as well) or if you mostly use double 10s/12s or giant pulling baits where speed isn't an issue, get the winch.
  8. For email and business communications or documents, blackberry is still (by far) the way to go. My iphone friends contend otherwise, but most seem to send much shorter emails than when they were on blackberry. If your'e like me and getting or sending 100 emails a day, then BB is the best way to go despite their shortcomings elsewhere (of which there are many). For other consumer services/apps/etc.....i think iphone is much better. You can also try the samsung devices. I hear they're quite good.
  9. Maybe old hooks rusted out...new ones don't. I wouldn't sweat it though - fish have a way of shaking hooks (maybe their tissue contracts). The turtle should be fine. I like to carry hook cutters so that if there ever is an issue you just chop it as close as possible.
  10. Thanks! I wondered if there were little chambers and if it would he hard to pinpoint them. Have you ever tried filling with veg oil?
  11. Lew -- where on the believer do you drill to remove the rattles?
  12. If they're your trees....
  13. Hard to believe people put others safety at risk for a fishing tournament. Some of you guys need to check your priorities.
  14. Pop it with a needle, cut it out with a razor, or go to the doctor.
  15. Don't let it bug you too much -- there isn't *that* much margin on a car anyway.
  16. If buying in Canada you're fine. If buying from the US and importing it in, it depends on the manufacturer -- some do, some don't, and some will reimburse you after you pay for work to be done at their cdn dealerships. Not sure about extended warranties. In response to your other thread - carcostcanada, get the invoice price and offer a fair # above it. If buying japanese (esp not a mainstream model) expect less haggle room...many of them are running short on supplies.
  17. Agree with Sal on the white grub, but i have the most fun catching them on mepps spinners.
  18. those boys look awfully happy!!
  19. Sorry - I assumed you meant Toronto! How toronto'ish of me (center of the universe, and all). Sorry!!
  20. Super hefty. Sure its not from up north or earlier in the season? Those trees look bare, and the grass yellow.
  21. Have caught lots of littler ones on both zara spooks (like everyone else is saying) and the smallest jitterbug skittered across the surface.
  22. I have never had anything but positive experiences there. Its a big box store so you're not going to get specialty knowledge but that's fine with me. A thought from the cheap seats -- the gas and time to drive there and shop was worth more than the 30 cents in savings or 7 cents in rewards points you would have received.
  23. husky jerk mid sized spoon with a grub trailer on the hook #4 or 5 mepps or blue fox spinners.
  24. Some of the early ones had issues with (a lot of) water leaking in through the roof. If buying used you may want to check on this to ensure you don't get a leaker. Or, wear your yellow slicker and rain boots.
  25. There's a non turbo.
