  1. I measured the temperatures in the pond last week-end and we are barely at 64 deg.F. Past years it would have been at least 74 deg.F by the end of May and all spawning would be long over. Bass and Bluegill are heavy into the spawn now, but nowhere close to being done. Everything is just so much later this year!
  2. Okay, thanks for looking! I thought maybe I was just blind!
  3. Does anyone know what the actual rules are regarding inflatable PFD's and replacing the arming kits? I have seen where it is written that the bobbins should be replaced every three years, but I could not find it in the actual Safe Boating Guide. I think mine have a 2016 date on them. If they never go off, I can't see why the CO2 cartridge would have to be replaced. The bobbins might be another story, but they come as a kit for about $30.00. Thanks
  4. Sorry, I guess I used the words "Register" and "License" interchangeably. I see from the article that there is a difference.
  5. I have been reading this thread with a great deal of interest. I thought I knew most of the regulations, but one thing I over looked with my new boat a couple of years ago was to have a copy of the Boat Registration from Transport Canada on board. I always had a laminated copy on my last boat, but not this one. I just laminated it today and will put it in my boat tonight. I always have my PWC operators card in with my fishing license. Thanks for bringing all these points to light!
  6. Mmmmmm.....sure sounds apetizing! Just cook em' thoroughly.......NOT!
  7. Hope you find me some Crappie out there? Never mind the Pike! lol
  8. Glad to hear you are well Paul! Let's hope your neighbors are as well!
  9. That is great action! Congrats!
  10. Wow, not even close to that here. Today was nice, but maybe 68 to 70. Quite a bit of sun too!
  11. Is this the V10 engine? My Buddy has a 34 footer with the V10 and it is a 1998 I believe. They have had some great trips in theirs!
  12. My lovely Daughter should take me there! Lol
  13. Thats because you are a pensioner nowdays! Lol I can’t wait to join your club! Lol
  14. Is that just for Crappie, or is fishing in general tough?
  15. Guys, it has been about 30 years since I visited this lake, but we went up last Friday to launch and try and find Crappie. We tried the week before in Port Severn. I know both of these bodies of water hold Crappie, but we could not find a single one. I'm thinking we were just too early for that area? The water temps were only 50 - 53 deg F. Lot's of current in Port Severn. Six Mile Lake is beautiful enough. We launched at the Provincial park. Have you guys had much luck fishing Six Mile? I did notice we were the only boat fishing on the lake! Now, maybe it was Friday before the long week-end, but at both places, no one else was fishing. It is Division 15, so Pike and Walleye did not open until the next day. Thanks in advance! Just don't know whether to bother try fishing the area again. Dying to get some Crappie!
  16. Very nice Cliff! Freedom to go where you want.....when you want! That's what it is all about! Pick up a small generator (or maybe it already has one?) and you don't even need hook ups!
  17. Jimmer, I had the 65 lb. Maxxum 24 volt on my 17 foot Bass boat for many years. I loved that motor with the cable drive. I would gladly take it over the electronic versions any day.
  18. Very nice! Something you don't see around here everyday!
  19. The one in the photo is one more than we got yesterday! I have really only ever caught Crappie by accident. They do manage to elude me for the most part.
  20. You actually have to submerge them to soak the paper type bobbin before they will inflate. A little dampness probably won't do it. Rain falling from above won't do it either.
  21. David, The idea of Perchfest and all it stands for are great, but if they can't open up a decent amount of shore spots to fish from, it is very limiting. Always been a complaint of mine. The good people of Orillia really need to get their act together and open things up at least during the derby.
  22. The metal studs are definitely galvanized! Heating them will allow the zinc to burn off. Not something you want to ingest in your food. The gauge of them are so thin that they will not last long at all. Just take one of the old ones to any sheet metal shop. They will be able to bend you up a set of thicker gauge ones without the galvanized coating.
  23. Nice to see you back Cliff and hear that things are turning around a bit for you. After all these years on here, I never had the pleasure of meeting you or Sue in person, but from what I have read of your posts, She was a real treasure and I feel your pain. Sorry to hear about Mexico. we were there for a week in Cozumel at the start of this month and it was fantastic. I would like to hear more, because i plan on doing it again next year. The Myrtle beach place seems really nice for you too. i would much rather a place like that than be in the middle of tourism. Again, nice to hear from you! As Roy always says, Be well!
