  1. lol, geez I remember those days! He was something else!
  2. Okay, well that is one excuse! Funny, I was thinking that exact thing as I typed!
  3. I have my OFC hand towel and use it in the boat. Nice in black.....does not require washing! lol
  4. Lew, did we not also have to have the photo hosted somewhere like photobucket or something? I think you had to type in a link to that other host site. Pain in the butt! This format today is so much easier there is no excuse for not posting fish pictures! lol
  5. I can't believe I never saw any of Kevin's posts on here before. I know I was on here very scarce for a while, but he certainly had lots of posts. Very sad. I have been checking out his YouTube channel and he had some great videos. Very sorry for his families loss.
  6. Thanks Guys! I saw a couple of videos there of two completely different methods. Anyone do the method where you go through the mouth?
  7. Is that what happens to ya in retirement??? you get all soft on people? lol
  8. I used to know about this fizzing of bass from deep water and understand why it has to be done, but have long forgotten it! Does anyone have any good info on the subject to share? Thanks
  9. Very Nice! I missed these earlier! I picked up a couple of Chatterbaits last week and tried them once! No luck, but from what I'm reading and seeing here, I need to give them a more serious effort!
  10. Thanks guys! I passed along the info!
  11. Thanks B, but other than the cost being 3 times as much, I don't see where you can buy marine grade locally. I doubt it is available at HD and such?
  12. Guys, A friend is looking to rebuild the floor in his 1980 Fibreline boat and is looking for marine grade plywood? He says it is different than pressure treated or outdoor plywood. Does anyone know of a source for this in 5/8" thickness? Thanks
  13. Steve, I had never seen this done before. Very interesting. I used to melt some different halves of torn up baits back together to make new creatures, but never thought of making molds and melting down old baits to pour new ones. Great video!
  14. Well, I have to admit that I have several pair. I'm sportin the camo versions right now! I have two pairs of these. They work great for getting in the water at boat ramps. No problem with wet grass either. Love 'em!
  15. Wonderful trip and video Simon! I am in total awe of the drone work as well!
  16. Very Nice! I guess the depth takes a toll on them coming up? Beautiful fish!
  17. Art, Things changed up here a few years back. They don't let us have access to any real weed killing chemicals unless you have a farm license or are a licensed pesticide applicator. The stuff that TSC and everyone else sells here is useless. Mostly just expensive water! If you go to the US, you can still get the good stuff and bring it back here in your trunk! lol
  18. That is kind of an oxymoron isn't it? lol Normally you would not see "Old Order Mennonite" and "electronics wiz" in the same sentence!
  19. That is good to know! Thanks Not so convenient from home here, buy handy if I was up there.
  20. Pretty sweet looking set up! Is it a lot bigger than your other one?
  21. Raf, I should have bought it from Advanced, but instead I got from a dealer in Chatham. I went to the boat show intending to look up Advanced and did not know anything about them other than they were in Fergus. I ended up talking to the guys from Howell's in Chatham and was convinced that Advance was too small of a dealer. I had no real issues with Howell's other than the long distance away for pick-up and if I needed them for service. Afterwards, I went into Advanced and was amazed at how big they were and how professional they seem. I would much rather have dealt with them and will for parts and service.
  22. I had an old Minn Kota 765MX and it ate up foot pedals like you would not believe. It was an older version than yours even! I measured the resistance of the slider potentiometer and picked up a rotary potentiometer of the same resistance.I mounted everything in a water tight box. I turned it into a hand controlled unit with a piece of aluminum conduit as a handle that I could control with my knee once I dialed in the speed I wanted. I also had a switch to turn it on constant and a momentary push button in the end of the handle. It worked great and I used it like this for many years. The motor itself was good, just the pedals were built too flimsy. I used to have the wiring diagram for what I did with all the coloured wires identified, but it was like over 20 years ago.
  23. Yes sir! 2017 Alumacraft Escape 165 Tiller . So far, I'm enjoying it this year a whole lot more than last year!
  24. Island Lake in Orangeville will let you on with the big motor still attached. Just trim it up and use electric only.
