  1. I had to go into Angus to get the grandaughter and was early, so made the right turn before the bridge. I guess the owner has had enough and I for one, do not blame them. Big red dots on trees,no tresspassing sign and a chain across the walk entrance. Talking to a local that was fishing on the edge of the property line, he said the owner had enough. From what I heard, an angler that was fishing the already posted no tresspassing further down, was asked to leave. His response was not friendly. So now you have a 50 yard shore line to fish on the north side of the bridge. WELL DONE,WELL DONE. Keep this crap up, and you will lose the south side as well. Myself I dont care, as I dont fish there. It dose sadden me the ignorance of people and the ones that feel the need to leave thier trash behind.
  2. Companies use these scum jobber temp outfits, so they have no risks . Thats the thing that pisses me off. What happen to, hire, 3 months probation, then hire. My mrs,s has been through this many times thought these temp agencies. Oh we both thought she would be with the same plant for a long long time, but they sold and well, no job. At 55, she finally got hired full time after 6 months with a local family owned company. That makes us both working for family owned companies. She has been through 3-5 other jobs til this one over the past 4 years. Min pay, $11.50, max $12.75. She took jobs that she didnt like, but the bottom line was the $ income. No income, no paying the bills.
  3. I stayed away til I seen your post Steve. YOU ARE BANG ON And for the pay they are getting, they still put in a full effort. More effort like you said then a full timer. I guess while Im at it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, CLIFF REALLY?
  4. With your turkey and my ribs, we could put Swiss Chalet out of bussiness.
  5. That looks like it came out perfect.
  6. LOL I was texting my pop and he was up as well.
  7. I have not fished a big river trout opener in many years. The crowds, the shoulder to shoulder fishing, really turned me away from this type of fishing that I once done . I had an invite to fish some new to me waters and thought well, what could it hurt. I was planning on doing resident fish, but an invite is an invite, so,,,,,,,,,,, When I got in the truck and the time came up, I thought, IT,S LewOclock . and I was on my way. On my way for a hook up with a few youngns. Ya young,ns, half the age of me, and a bit more.LOL Im all for walking to get away from everyone and crowds, so when I was told the walk was 5km, I was ready for it. What beautiful water to see. That was when day light came of course. We walked the full 5km in the dark. Thankfully, the new pink moon was out to allow me,not the leader, to see where I was walking. Oh to have young eyes. Once we arrived, I just listened to the water ripple and could just see the pool we were going to fish. The young byes were all giddy to get started, I myself well, was in no hurry, I was enjoying the friendship of these 3 byes and the chatter. It only took a few drifts by the young guns, to get some fish on the bank. I however, just drifted and drifted, to have not a fish take my presentations. Non the less, we had some great laughs during our outing and it felt like I was no different in age, then them. This is the kind of opener I could do each year. Great stretch of water, a few pals and good laughs. A few fish from this morning.
  8. Oh I look forward to the end cook on this one Chris. I had a back rib getting happy over night and just layed it on the grill (indirect). Longer then I thought it would be. I might of added a bit to much heat to it, as the finger cuts are stinging a wee bit.
  9. Fishing was not that great, but this ole bye walked over 10 km and kept up with the byes half his age. Second wind is kicking in.LOL

  15. Sometimes Doug, simple is best. I would how ever, try the taco with a splash of hot sauce for a kick it up a notch thing. Not to much to eliminate the fish taste though. We catch fish to taste the fish. Im not a fan of the avacado. For some reason,it burns my lips. Wierd.

Do what you think is best, but around Don I'd use as few words as possible. I've never had a run in with him, but I've seen how he works his cases. I'm not bitter, as I've never had a charge against me or have I been fined.

I was aproached very well by this young fella. I already knew he was MNR, but he says, afternoon sir, ministry officer. He waited as I brought in my line and grab my lic out of my wallet. I have nothing to hide nor do I give attitude. Doing thier job right is what it,s all about . There are a couple of older ones that think thier crap dont stink. but like I said, nothing to hide so, have a nice day sir.
