  1. This Autumn the Agent Stevie Zebco and I snuck away for a short Fishin’ Mission out on the big Lake Nipigon. As always, he and I rolled with some punches and kinda sorta just made it up as we went. Finding some friends along the way, we took in some night time campfires and day long hooksets. Not entirely your typical turn of events and not entirely your typical fish either, but with the Agent along anything is possible. As always, it’s yours to read into if ya want... http://bunksoutdoorangle.com/humpbacks-halos-misty-maple-moonshine/ Bunk.
  2. This is a tough question... Probably a white bucktail jig. Specks, lakers, pike, walleye, muskie, smallies and pike have all been caught on one.
  3. Banner that in the rec room Simon! With some fish mounts.
  4. Good on Pete, dood knows his skis! Well done for you and the Missus, great looking fish.
  5. Kids in T's and dresses in November... and slaying everything that swims. Very nice dad!!!
  6. First mouse in the garage tonight... WINTER IS COMING!!! Will hope to have a cold winter with little snow. That'd be perfect for the ice-mod-quad.
  7. Dang dood! That's a perfect getaway right there
  8. Never used anything but Shimano for muskie fishing. Have a Curado for the small stuff and Calcutta for larger. For casting if having to choose just one to try and cover a range of baits and sizes, I'd go Curado actually... Tekota 600LC for trolling over the Calcutta 400, every day of the week.
  9. Very nice eh! A busy woman who truly does loves her fishing, Ashley and I have been back and forth since April (I'm pretty sure, maybe earlier) on finding time to get out for a fish. Attending my good friend's wedding a short time back Brenda and I found ourselves seated at a table with Ashley and Eric. Well lemme tell ya, I kinda felt sorry for Bren and Eric because Ashley and I just kept drinking and talking more fish ti'll they finally closed the doors for the night. A long overdue day out it was on Sunday.
  10. Little late here but Congrats Lew!! 50 years is huge milestone. Great pic of the two of you back in the day.
  11. Thanks guys! They used to try and block me at one my jobs. Suckers!!! lol. You gotta get your fix everyday. Even while on the job.
  12. Gill are just a delicious Bruce! Nice day out with the kiddo!
  13. grimsbylander, on 27 Oct 2016 - 10:52 AM, said: WOW...I didn't see that coming! Last trip for the green parka? Heck NO!... But the following years the reports left out the word "Kesagami" in the reports. Didn't matter though, we saw them again. lew, on 27 Oct 2016 - 10:55 AM, said: They just knew how good you were Drew LOL Hahaha! Thanks Lew. And if only I kept my own mouth shut about it. lol. AKRISONER, on 27 Oct 2016 - 11:35 AM, said: lol for real bunk...i think thats more of a situation where everyone knows that you are good and you just managed to run into someone who is very disrespectful. I kinda thought they were dinks, yep! Headhunter, on 27 Oct 2016 - 11:16 AM, said: I remember that report Drew and I can't blame you one bit for being put off. Gotta hand it to them, they wanted to know and they found out. Just could have waited ti'll we left or fished a little further away.
  14. Just starting here in the valley. Taking a break inside from yard work and sorting some Quinte walleye gear.
  15. Two separate planes took off from Cochrane to land on the ice at Kesagami Lake years back, think it was 07 or 08. Knowing a plane out of Moosonee (had to announce on radio... VFR or whatever, to land in a Prov. Park) they came in that day my bet is to specifically find fishermen, not fish. This lake is 30km long and about 8km at it's widest and they landed on Brenda's and my head and drilled spots next to our. I could throw a snowball at them they were that close. They shut down the bite that afternoon with all their drilling and engine warming. When I went over nicely (but fuming inside) I introduced myself. The one old fella said, "yeah, I know you, you're Moosebunk. Knew it was you by your green parka." I went on to tell them it's a big lake, even a big spot, and they didn't need to land on and set up on top of us. This guys response, "we've never fished here before, usually over there, but we knew you'd be on the fish." First experience with that sort of thing. Power of the internet.
  16. Fun times when they're on the go like that. Water temp?
  17. Nice thing with jigging muskies is the later in the fall, the lighter the gear and smaller the jigs you can get away with. Great fish, congrats on the PB PB.
  18. Looked at those boats this past spring plus Alumacrafts V14 and the StarCraft 14. All quite similar really and would have been happy with any of them. Chose the Alumacraft I did because it had flooring installed when all others didn't, and came in the cheapest by $500 - $1200. The 9.9 will do it but you'll wanna keep the boat basically bare boned, especially if two on board. Kesagami Lake had 14 foot Nadens of similar specs to all these choices and those had 9.9's. Big winds some days and waves and they'd still get up on plane and rip enough.
  19. Our wives would never, ever say a thing like that Chris. Anyhow, thanks for this and all your usual witty replies. Figured you'd especially enjoy reading 'bout some char too. And thanks Lex!
  20. That's a perfect getaway right there Simon. Not long now and you'll icing eyes again, good to enjoy these last fall days first.
  21. That was a "great one" Tell me this platform wasn't made for fisherman to stand on.
  22. There! That wasn't so hard was it Dave? lol This was the first year in awhile that it felt like there just weren't enough lake trout in my season. Scrappy greys make happy days!
  23. That was a gem of a post. If it has been awhile, it shouldn't be next time. Brenda and I are competitive too, and I can see it in Tina's eyes and grin that she loves kickin' your arse on the water. lol. Cool stuff. Gives a man an itch to go jiggin' for gold.
  24. lmao! Was gonna say that. My Pops would be drooling over some of those bikes. He's been after me for years to get a bike license of my own so we can ride... and I tell him, my hobbies and toys are already crippling me.
  25. A tonne actually.. and pretty well half asleep the other half of the time. Rat race it is! All good to know. Much has been simplified now though with the new site and pretty sure that most if not everything left from the past, has been recovered. Images from the new site, in the gallery, will be tagged. Other images from posts... well, too late or just going to chance it. Do appreciate this insight though, I'm actually not techie at all and even my uncle within seconds simplified a head scratcher with my truck light wiring today. Last one I caught, some Nipigon brook trout catches ended up in a PQ Outfitters gallery. Goofs! John, I too know exactly how many hours that equates too. The on-call can be grueling, there are days we receive few to no calls while on-call after our 8 hour work shifts, but oftentimes 16 to 24 hours of work straight through comes into play... the max we could reach in the stations I have worked is about 40 hours straight. It would likely never happen that way though, as other members in the team would have to intervene. I have been lucky and only had one 24 hour shift so far. Slept well after that. The previous 6 week contract was 650 hours. I'll tell ya, in 3 months this year it was nice to get about 8 months worth of work done, had the other 5 months to myself. No more begging and bending over to hospital administrations for me. The other points you made were bang on! As for a show... I've tried to get Max (who filmed Bill Spicer and I on Nipigon this past summer) to come along in the boat. Trade off was that I teach him some fishing and he keeps the camera rolling, then we make a show and split any You-Tube earnings. Too busy a guy so far, despite saying he's interested. You rock Rick! Usually read the report that many times too... and edit... and edit. lol Dan... those pics are still around and if there isn't a report to go with 'em, I'll make you one. lol. Funny you remember that. Ole FLOATFISHIN came up to the Moose one time and he actually brought me a new pack of crayons for a gift. lol. Those days on this board and F-H were golden man! Thanks Brian. Offer always stands, ball is in your court. Thanks gang!
