  1. I'm just not sure of the best response here... Thanks again Chris man! There is a lot more to this merman, the carver, his family, and the purchase than my work can allow me to say online. The gut tells me it is a good omen... and in actuality, an incredible gift in some respect. Mikey (Selfmade) follows the two boards still... but certainly not like he used to and, has nothing to do with social media. He is a busy guy but he and I have a couple insane future trips booked that will keep him around if any read these reports. He has some great fishing and pictures that I have urged him to share online but he won't. It's gotten harder overall with the forums I think? In his case, very few posts means few get to know him, the boards are slower than what they used to be and, a few critical people may have turned him off... So I think with his little time to enjoy, there's just a sense now of "why bother?" But I surely miss having him, and many around. In fact, I'd give up any other social medias to have the forums rocking again like they used to but until then, I guess you have to spread what you've got around and spend whatever appropriate time you have with the masses wherever the percentages may be. It's becoming more deflating as well, to put time and effort into the boards, into fishing reports, discussion and such, for different reasons. Still of the mind that if given a few hours on a spring night to spare online, I'd rather read a Cookslav gonk report, followed by a Brock backwoods trek, then a Borger Epic Adventure Quest, followed by a Misfish float tube diddy, etc, etc,... instead of,a like, like, like, like, like, comment, like, like, like, like... even though, that's OK for entertainment too and many keep in touch and support others in that way. Anyhow... got a little off topic. lol. Come on up, stay and hang out with me sometime dood.
  2. Caribou & Arctic char. Crappies, trout & longnose gar. A bear, some deer, seas, lakes and land. Walrus bone, soapstone, carved into a merman. It's spring, it's here, and the eagles take flight. Walk the walk with me... Chasing A Wild Life. Been out there running around... ALOT! Some spring fishing and quite a bit more in this little write up... Read on if you like here... http://bunksoutdoorangle.com/chasing-a-wild-life/ Bunk.
  3. Cool shots Rick! Love thems sturgeons!
  4. Working in the E.R. this May long weekend... I'm guessing we'll get 3 or 4 people much wimpier than you Simon. Careful out there.
  5. What he said! Can't beat braid set-ups for sensitivity, castability and longevity. When considering expense, consider you'll be buying mono and floro that much more often.
  6. Tick Twisters. Keep 'em at home. They're what we use in the E.R. too...unless you get some hero Doc that thinks they know better or the tick is too tiny to twist out.
  7. Robins are psycho. Two seasons with 'em off the front porch. Last year the buggers would dive bomb ya everytime you step outside. Knock the nests away... there's plenty of planet for them worm munchers. lol
  8. You gotta get more sick days in your contract then Dave.
  9. That's a good score Pump! I have that Compre (older) in a 1-piece with the same reel. It's served me pretty well for skis and arctic lakers.
  10. Snowing yesterday. Blah! Jonzing too Brian. Haven't been out yet this year. Don't know what your forecast looks like for the weekend but it's 40mm more rain here. The bass have plenty beds to choose from on the Ottawa River. They actually might spawn on Sealy posturepedics and linen sheets in peoples homes.
  11. Saltys or Scottys Powerlock or Orcas are good. Trust the Strikers for muskie too. Gunnel mounted though. Saltys otherwise.
  12. Dave! Tell me you went ice fishing in that! lol How's the season overall? Ahead, behind, normal?
  13. Need the Caps/Pens series to go 7 regardless of who wins... And Sens to finish the Rangers in the 5. In a perfect world.
  14. Up in the air! But between two E.R. side gigs I bet the phone will ring a half dozen times with offers for work. Otherwise... it's nice to be home and fishing.
  15. Cute little fella! One day he'll grow up to rain poop on unsuspected vehicles passing by... like yesterday when my rain clean truck got completely rain poop repainted. Cool stuff Sir Brock! Spring leads into seasons of much more fish ahead. Gonna be great.
  16. Yeah... Have witnessed huge differences in fish ability between different guides working the same waters, and even what is shared and not shared between them. Can be good and bad so this is a personal call really...
  17. Thanks doooooooooooooods!!! Brownie points man! May to November is coming and somebody wants to do alotta fishing. Just gotta get my crap together and focus. Thanks!. Fishing season is upon us so it's gonna be tough. Mikey... is it 2019 yet? So much to do in the meantime though. Love fishing with her, hate playing poker against her. Nasty Texas Hold'em Woman! Start with the gar finish with the char... In that order.
  18. Just a complete wreck some people are in the head.
  19. What it's all about is right brutha James! Great fishing. But Holy Crap man, that's alotta traffic out there. Wow! Way to get'er done.
  20. A different kind of story, a short one but long overdue in the making. Recently sifting through some old reports and pictures, in the past week when my wife Brenda booked two future fishing trips for us, I became a little more inspired to get this done. A lucky man to have found someone in life who not only supports (or puts up with) the crazy passion that is fishing, but also joins me whenever possible. And what’s also incredible is her genuine enjoyment of the outdoors, catching the BIG fish and always staying positive through any hooks in the head and snow on her bed. Found a great partner for life and looking back it amazes me the fine fishing she has done. This story is all the “Misses Fishes.” Read on if you like... http://bunksoutdoorangle.com/misses-fishes Bunk.
  21. Last movie with the family, SPLIT. We all liked it.
  22. Yeah.. it was nasty. A little PTSD'd and lost plenty sleep for 3 nights over it and still think about it weekly a few months later. But yes, he had another issue simply made worse by weed. Good thing is, it is very rare this happens. Hope to not see more of it with weed more readily available to all.
