MMJ Connoisseurs? VS Scotch Connoisseurs?
Moosebunk replied to GbayGiant's topic in General Discussion
Yeah.. it was nasty. A little PTSD'd and lost plenty sleep for 3 nights over it and still think about it weekly a few months later. But yes, he had another issue simply made worse by weed. Good thing is, it is very rare this happens. Hope to not see more of it with weed more readily available to all. -
Just a beautiful day to fish and a little story
Moosebunk replied to Old Ironmaker's topic in General Discussion
All peoples fishing problems usually originate from other people and their problems. lol. -

MMJ Connoisseurs? VS Scotch Connoisseurs?
Moosebunk replied to GbayGiant's topic in General Discussion
On the front line I couldn't even begin to count the number of problems had with alcoholics or just people drunk in general. With weed, I'd guess it could be counted on a hand or two. That said... people just gotta be careful either way. Just this winter alone I have seen three different ugly truths with weed... The most extreme as an example... An acute psychosis resulted in a gruesome mutilation and death of one's own left hand with a meat clever. Same guy on booze is just a wild party animal, I hear. MJ may not have killed his brain cells, just altered this guys enough for him to nearly chop his hand off. It was "JUST WEED" alone that triggered this. An extreme and rare case, yes, and only one of two in 18 years doing the job which turned that extreme. But pot for some with underlying psychiatric issues such as Schizophrenia can trigger nasty reactions. It does happen! But compared to booze issues, it's just a drop in the bucket. Alcohol can be devastatingly damaging as we all are aware. Drink and toke responsibly! -
Pretty sure the Fury and Rebel are close, but not the Rebel XL. It has to be bigger than the Fury... But the new Rebel XL is slightly bigger still than the one he's looking at. Believe it's 3 inches deeper and maxes out with a 90HP now. Buddy of mine just bought it, fully loaded and maxed out for about $40,000. The Fury is overall a smaller line-up unless that's changed with this years boats..?

what song are you listening to right now???
Moosebunk replied to fishing n autograph's topic in Non-Outdoors Open Discussion
The only song I heard today. Ironic too... inhaled some basmati rice at lunch that threw me into a choking and coughing fit for about 10-15 minutes. Puked my food up, , went numb from the chest up, blood shot eyes and yeah... cried!!!... About an hour later while giving a baby it's immunizations, it cried and I regurged the last grain back up into my mouth. Spent the rest of the afternoon sticking needles in babies and making them cry. And the only song I heard today was this one... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkPq3UaCLpg But it's a classic and she's pretty cool. -
Would bet this boat new today, with a 50hp, trolling motor, electronics and some odds and ends, with taxes and the dollar the way it is, would be nearing $30,000. It's doubtful it'll be the boat you have to worry about being up to snuff, just that motor. And yeah, under-powered but it'll still get the job done. If you can pay $12,000 for it and everything is in good shape, that'd be an alright purchase. Boat, motor, trailer, accessories... Giddy-up! Upgrade the motor to a 75 when you can. My $0.02

The Compass Clockwise To Lunker Lakers.
Moosebunk replied to Moosebunk's topic in General Discussion
Good meeting ya Jay! Have you taken a little nip or two or shared some of that apple pie or maple shiner yet? Wish all the ding-a-lings were that big or bigger and that every story could be written from start to finish like that. Probably the last truly creative stories written at the site are "Far Out Groovy Greasers," "Possessed By The Grey," and whatever the 2008 Kesagami Ice report was called again. It was all Star Wars, Mario Brothers, Mats Sundin and stuff in it. Was there any every doubt that a Bravo would make it. And on maybe two spark plug changes too. Thanks brother Chris. The winter beard is gone Brian. And it SUCKS!!! lol Thanks for popping over the site and giving the story a read. -
Retirement serves you very well. Wish I'd see some steel this year, but it ain't gonna happen.

The Compass Clockwise To Lunker Lakers.
Moosebunk replied to Moosebunk's topic in General Discussion
It's Lori ya gotta worry about fishing out there. Ice Machine! Top competitor. Keith asked me on our last day, the Saturday morning what the game plan was. I said (and did) I was gonna wait ti'll everybody left to fish then Bren and I were gonna go to the lake and fish wherever was left, where nobody was. The best spot was left wide open. When able, it'll be Patty's neck of the woods for ice fishing or fall muskie. What a gem of a spot. He and Lori will get on great this summer, and her head is gonna be spinning with all the fish and fishing. Reuniting Yamalowrance would be nuclear out there!!! Oh YEAH! Thanks for reading bud. I know ya tried a little a harder than "just an hour" out there too... But some of those late nights and days you surely wouldn't have remembered too well. Ha!!! -
North for work. East and friends. South with family. West to fish. There’s a setting for everyone. Nunavut, Bogie, Hogwarts & Hogsville, it is "The Compass Clockwise To Lunker Lakers" which tick-tocks through every bit of winter's travel and fishing. It has been a great start to 2017 with big fish and memorable moments. Choose a direction and read on... http://bunksoutdoorangle.com/the-compass-clockwise-to-lunker-lakers/ Sunny days ahead! Enjoy the spring fishing. Thanks for reading, Bunk.

Move over HB . . . The Lowrance HDS Carbon 16 is here
Moosebunk replied to Mister G's topic in General Discussion
Both good brands. This thing looks to be a beast. Not far off here from a new rig and come time will be looking more closely at sonar options. Does one need all the bells and whistles to fish, absolutely not. Do more bells and whistles help you to fish a better? Absolutely they can. A standard GPS/Sonar combo should be must for anyone. Past couple years too, side imaging has been a good tool to have for some things too. Last I looked, (and I didn't look closely) there was no unit that could combine all four-in-one. If wanting these features, you're into two units. Now... what's that cost comparison? Will have to look. -
Have never seen anything like this Carl. And I said that about your float fishing for whiteys too. lol. What a great idea though. Informative and well done.

Wrong kinda cougars you'd want to meet alone in the woods.

Looking back on my 2017 ice fishing season
Moosebunk replied to Walleye'm Fishing's topic in General Discussion
Watched this last night Yves and again this morn... Well done as always. There's always something "catchy" about your tunes, as said before, it's a talent. Thanks for keeping us entertained. Good luck for the spring. -
Nobody really "needs" I-Pilot. Running a 16 foot Rebel XL / 60hp after awhile found that the PD55 wasn't cutting it for a few things. Most of the time fine tho! The Terrova 80 24V with AP / US for this boat had solid balls to get it around and I'd think it fine on a heavier 17 consoled boat too. Save the few extra bucks and put it into your sonar.

Welcome aboard Blue. Plenty OFC'ers in the GTA/Barrie area that could maybe help get ya started. You're on the doorstep of some great waters. Aside from others giving you ideas, The Fishing Mapbook series along with Google Earth were good tools for me when first moving home to the Ottawa area. Kinda like the "Choose Your Own Adventure" books some of us may have read as kids. Your story was great. I had a telephone pole to fish mudpout when starting out. Fishing is a process man!

Kinda makes ya laugh on many levels. lol. Nice!!! Fished sucker last spring and had never really targeted 'em. It was surprisingly good fun and I still have some great bait vacuum sealed and ready to go.

I've switched to Top Shelf moonshine outta Perth and Jamiesons Irish Whiskey. It's true but still love the scotch. Prices are getting a little stoopid though. Funny to read the old favorites. At the time, remember really enjoying Scapa. Hard to get now. Don't care for Lagavulin anymore. To keep it "reasonable" and under $90, while often available at the LCBO... enjoying most the..., Tomatin 15 Dalwinnie 15 MacCallan 10 oak Aberlour 10 Glen Garioch Founders

Dandy eye dood! Good for you.
