  1. All of the big ones released. That's all I see .... are big ones. Great day eh ? Congrats.
  2. Happy New Year Kelvin. Hope to see ya again in say .... 5 1/2 months.
  3. Great report Bud. If that's all your blood - ya may be needing a transfusion. Congrats on the monster pike.
  4. Carole ... I really hope this isn't true. But - if it is be, I wish you all the best and maybe our paths will cross again .... soon.
  5. That's just about what I'll be looking like in about an hour ... but I'll probably be in bed. Hope ya have a great 2010 Beans.
  6. Ah yes and may 2010 bring a PB for everyone.
  7. Ha HA HA Lex - That's exactly what I did. Traded in a Doge Dakota for my F-150. Dang Gas Hog. 11-12 MPG pulling my boat just don't cut it. Now, I'm about 14+ with the F-150.
  8. Nice ... she looks just like my Blue one. Hope ya like it as much as I like mine. Of course, sittin' up at Lakair getting covered by all that yellow pollen doesn't help the appearance any.
  9. Ya best be coverin' those cute rosey cheeks too Glen.
  10. Maybe that's what I need to try the next time - pull 'em out a little father and see if that does the trick. Thanks Chris. Ok - Back to Hometownhandyman's thread now. No intentions of stealing it.
  11. For me, I spend far more time fishing in Canada each year than I do in my home state. This year, 2009, I caught only one fish here in PA and I didn't even get it into the boat. Primarily Patsy and I come north to enjoy the beautiful country and get away from everything. Patsy likes to fish (when I'm catching fish) or just sit in the boat and read - she can do this for hours. Whether we catch fish or not, it doesn't really matter. We just love being out there and enjoy the company of friends - both old and new.
  12. My trailer has bunks, so I back it down in and submerge the bunks for a couple seconds to make sure they are good and wet. Then pull forward enough so there is about a foot opr so of the bunks out of the water. Pull straight in and run it up as far as I can. Lean over and hook up. Winch her up all the way. The one problem I do have is getting her 'exactly' centered all the time. The boat sits in between the wheels and I only have maybe 1 inch or so clearance on both sides between the boat and the wheel fenders. There is carpet to prevent metal to metal rubbing, but too often the boat ends up tight against the wheel. I really don't want it touching for fear of someday wearing through the carpet covering. Typically I have to back the boat in a little more and manually try to keep it straight while my wife pulls away. Sometimes we have to do this a couple times to get it off the wheels. This is a PITA and sometimes can cause me a delay in getting trailered and out of the way. There must be that sweet spot and maybe I need to have the bunks out of the water a little more. I did forget to trim the motor once, but fortunately is was loose gravel when it hit. A few shouts to my wife, correct my error, and we're good to go. No damage done (Whew !!!)
  13. Cast Right - Reel Left. My wife casts right, switches the rod to her left hand, and reels with her right. Spent some time with her trying to cast right / reel left, but that's not what she feels comfortable doing. Hey - she can still catch fish.
  14. Oh No They've sent him to 'Mod' School. We'll have a new moderator when he returns. Come back soon Glen ... we miss you.
  15. Probably the same as last year for me. OFC GTG at Lakair in June First two weeks of September on the French River. And possibly another week in Ontario in July or August with my son-in-law. He likes to fish and has never been on a fishing trip in Canada - something he'd really love to do. Now it is a matter of convincing my daughter to let him go for a week. But with two small kids at home, that may be a bit difficult. We shall see.
  16. Now that is the best Christmas present anyone can receive.
  17. Happy Birthday TJ. Maybe someone will get ya a new hat.
  18. Much, much better. Link works and great work from you .. as usual.
  19. We're expecting the same mess down here in Central PA - starting Christmas eve and lasting into Christmas morning. Then - changing over to all rain.
  20. Sweeeeet
  21. Well ... let's see. So now for the questions: What is the best Christmas movie of all time? "Christmas Story" What is the best Christmas tv show of all time? What is your favourite Christmas tune? "O HOLY NIGHT" Do you go to your kids or grandkids Christmas concerts? "Yes - all of them" Do you go to a Christmas church service or a carol sing? "Yes - every Christmas Eve. Sometimes the church choir will visit the local nursing homes for some Christmas Caroling and I'll tag along'. Do you decorate your home? "Oh Yes - inside and out" Do you wish everyone you meet a Merry Christmas for weeks before Christmas? "I try to"
  22. Hey .. what happened All I see is a box with nuttin' in it. After the last one ... I'd really like to see and hear this one too. Put the CD together ... I'd buy one.
  23. Welcome to the board Mike. Been to Smiths Falls a number of times and also passed through Carleton Place a time or two - as recently as this past September. Actually my father purchased his new Lund several years back from a dealer in Carlton Place. We do a yearly bass fishing trip to Rideau Ferry so my wife and I are somewhat familiar with your stomping grounds.
  24. Yeah. Congratulations Lew. You've been thinking about this for some time now and glad it all came together. Almost looks big enough for an OFC GTG sometime.
  25. All I can say is WOW. Great work Cliff.
