  1. Sweet !!!!!
  2. Sure sounds like a great way to spend the week-end. Few beauties there.
  3. Just heard today that Exxon/Mobile is pulling out of Pennsylvania at the end of this month. Saw the signs on the local Mobile station here in town. Sure ... the gas credit card I use every month. Not sure why, but I heard that our governor is considering taxing the profits of the oil companies here in the state (true or not ... not certain)
  4. Seen these before too ... Somewhere in Northern Europe. If I saw something like that coming up, I wouldn't need to go to the bathroom for a week. Hmmm ... ONFC get together over in Europe for a pike tourney ?
  5. The way the market was climbing over the past few months, a correction was inevitable. I don't even want to look at the hit I took today. With some low prices out there, things should start to rebound a bit. (I hope).
  6. Nice pics Lew. I fish about an hour south of Ottawa in July, but never took the time to check out the sites. I've heard it is a beautiful city. Thanks for sharing the pics.
  7. Didn't see that one coming.
  8. Where I am, just east of the Allegheny Mountains, it is just about on our doorstep. Looking at the weather map, it looks like we're gonna start with a little snow, then change over to the nasty stuff ... sleet and freezing rain. Looks like a mixed bag for us throughout all of today ... snow flurries tomorrow. I am starting to wonder about that ground-hog that is about an hour north of me. May want to be careful PF and give yourself some extra time. Not sure what the forcast is for that area.
  9. I recently purchased the Lowrance H2O unit. Have been through the manual and getting familiar with the MENUs that are on the unit. Have not have the opportunity to put it into action yet. As I do most of my serious fishing in Ontario. I purchase MapCreate 6 Canada Topo version. Here in the states, it was around $100.00 Us with postage and such. I loaded all the CDs onto my home computer and have been playing around making a few maps for use this coming summer. So far, creating and downloading maps onto the MMC are pretty easy. I had purchased two 512mg cards, one for Canadian maps and another for US maps (if I ever get the software). When I purchased MapCreate, I actually ordered the kit, so the card reader with a USB port came with it. MapCreate will only allow you to register 5 different cards. I know some folks that have this unit are using the 1 Gig card. The manual that came with the CDs indicated cards up to 512 have been tested and work fine, but that may have been before the 1 Gig cards come out. Since you are only allowed to register 5 cards, if you purchase a set like this, make sure you get large enough MMC cards to keep you going. I've heard a lot of good things about this unit and I'm anxious to get out there and see what all it can do. The Lakair GTG may be my first trip with it.
  10. Basic necessities I'd say.
  11. I have a Fabill Big Game. The net is large enough for the fish I target and make a nice holding pen. I also keep the net down in the water for the unhooking. Lift out, quick pic if needed, then release. At least for those I have caught, there is extra space in the net to allow some movement by the fish. I'd think, if the night was around the fish so tight as to restrict movement, any movement of the fish could cause extra 'slime' to be removed. The extra room in the larger nets may reduce the loss. Just a thought
  12. What ??? No drinking ?
  13. Alright ... what is a Katchup chip ? We eat Katchup on our fries. With my frequent visits to Canada .... I now enjoy vinegar on the.m
  14. Oh yeah ... I enjoyed. Sounds like a lot of fun, no time limits ... just drive till ya run our of road. That would be great. That bear at the beaver house looks a little miffed at ya ... that's about the time to retreat. Great looking sunsets. Great report and appreciate seeing the pics.
  15. I've noticed the same thing. The computer is on all the time and I manually delete cookies that have not been used for a couple days. From time to time, I have to log back on. No biggie here ... as soon as I see the old driftwood skin, I just hit Log In and away we go.
  16. That is an awesome report. Looks like it took some effort to get to that honey hole, but well worth it.
  17. Have fun Lew. Hurry back then.
  18. How can anyone pass up a free $15 million ? Might be fun to string them along a little, but do be careful.
  19. Welcome aboard Jason. Being south of the border, I'm sorry that I can't answer your question. Musky eh ? Looking for some pics the day after. Again - welcome to OFC !
  20. Great idea Kanuck. I typically remove the cotter pin and replace it with a lock when I leave the house. Even after I launch the boat, the lock goes on. Too easy for someone to make off with the trailer. It was about a year or two ago, at a camp I was staying, this very same thing happened. Not while I was there, but during a bass tournament. A guy came back up for the trailer and ..... gone ! Take Kanuck's advise and ask the dealer about a lock.
  21. Just the thumbs uh ?
  22. Well, since I've never met anyone personally from the board. Not yet any way - gonna fix that in about 4 months if everything works as I have it planned. I'm not sure exactly how many I will be able to idenify based on the board names used here. After a while, I hope someone can help me out with putting some names to those pics. Looking forward to receiving my copy.
  23. The other thread you were referring to is a great thread and I'm sure it's bringing back a lot of memories for those who have read and posted there. It did for me. Allow me to extend my condolences for your loss. The sudden-unexpected ones are the hardest. We all feel your loss and we're with you, even in our thoughts and prayers !!!
  24. Welcome abord Greg and that is a great into. Maybe the mods should have everyone fill out a bio like that .. might interesting.
  25. Crank the trailer lip high enough with the little helper lift. Back up very close to line up the ball on vehicle hitch with the recepticle at the end of the trailer. Crank down the trailer so the recepticle fits right over the ball. Latch it down and insert the cotter pin so it does not come un-done. Connect the chains that are on the trailer to the hitch mounted on the vehicle. Connect the wiring harness on the trailer and make sure all lights, signals, and flashers are working. Double check all straps connecting the boat to the trailer. Practice backing ... it will take practice and more practice. (I still stink at it. One time - back it straight in. The next time .. need a back or two).
