  1. OK. Now that I have finally received my issue, I wonder if someone would drop me a PM and let me know which OFC'rs are in this issue and which page ? Not having the priviledge to meet any OFC'er yet, all I know are the board names. Looking forward to putting a face and story to a name. Thanks folks.
  2. Still going strong at 132
  3. I used to replace mine every year ... out of habit I guess. This time I just left it on, but may consider reversing before I head out. We'll see how she goes.
  4. Dang !!! I gotta learn how to fish for walleye. My musky fishin' stinks.
  5. Mmmmmm ... soft water. And I sit here looking out the window. Cold, winds-a-howling, blowing snow. I hate winter !
  6. My wife goes with me all the time as well. She'll fish for quite until ... we'll, while the fish are biting anyway. When things get slow, she just enjoys sitting back and catching up on her reading. ALl four of us really enjoy being out on the boat ... the wife, the two dogs, and myself. It's nice quiet time together. She'a a little disappointed that she won't be able to make the trip to Lakair with me in June.
  7. Man that must have been fun. Looks like you had the place all to yourselves. Oh yeah - I enjoyed the report and the pics. Keep diggin through the archives, I'm sure everyone would love to see another report - even if it is a couple years old. Fantastic pics.
  8. Count me in too
  9. For 'just trying' ... you got some amazing pics.
  10. Good Luck DanC. Post a few pics if you get them. We're socked in here in southern PA with snow flurries. Won't be able to see a darn thing.
  11. I hear ya too HUK. I've used the stick baits a few times in the early fall with no luck. Last year my wife wanted to try one and we were fishing a shore-line with some cabbage around. First cast in toward shore and all heck broke loose. Huge splash just as the lust hit the water. Unfortunately, the way the fish hit it, it must have just pushed it away. Never did see the fish even though we returned periodically. Must admit I don't use them all that often, but I'll keep trying from time to time. I think it will take some practice for me to make the proper presentation. They do work from what I hear and read. I read an article within the last few months on a guy dead-sticking the Suick. Throw it out and just let it sit a few minutes. Give it jerk and let sit. Had some luck fishing that way and I'm gonna give it whirl this coming September. Oh yeah ... welcome back.
  12. Wish I was there. Great shot DanC and congrats on your win.
  13. Oh good grief !!!! You mean I've been driving around in a girl thingy ?????
  14. Chickens are so under-appreciated.
  15. There's always a reason ... many of which I just don't understand.
  16. Great report Mike. I too had fished Toho. Oh man, that was back in the 70's as a little tyke. My grand-father owed a house just across from the late in St. Cloud. In the evenings, I'd pull out the bike and head down to the local boat launch and fish from the dock. Loads of fun and lots of memories. I was down that way several years ago on vacation and drove around the places I had been before.
  17. It looks like I'm in for a cloudy day. Unfortunately, those of us in the states won't get the 'big show', just an over-shadowing / colorized moon. Shucks !
  18. Never Late ! What better way to pass the winter months than reading fine reports such as this. It gets us all in the mood for what is just around the corner ... and coming fast.
  19. Very cool shots. Ice Storms can be beautiful for pics, but even more so destructive. Those are amazing pics.
  20. Uh oh .... I have a 2004 "Dodge" Dakota. I must say that I've never had a lick of trouble with it and I'll be keeping this one until she dies. I had a Nissan Frontier before and just loved it. When I upgraded to a larger boat, it was just too much for the Frontier to pull. Had I not upgraded the boat, I'd still have the Frontier. It was a great truck, never had a problem with it, and in a way, I miss it. (Not to say I also miss the 6 CD changer the Frontier had). I guess I have no real loyalty to one make over another. It's all in what I (I mean my wife) appeals to us.
  21. I'm sure these folks will give Chris trips that he will always remember. The folks on this board put OFC above beyond all the others. I'll bet the folks sponsoring the trips will take home lifetime memories as well. Truely a class act and my hat's off to them.
  22. Never seen asn albino moose. That's so cool.
  23. CNN just reported about 13 have died in Alabama as a result of the storms. Also reported that in Enterprise Alabama, a school took a direct hit with 8 people killed in the school. The pictures coming over the tube are unbelievable !!! Hey GCD ... let us know your OK buddy. Our prayers go out to the people of Alabama.
  24. Thanks guys. I'll be sure to check out that link Roy ... it'll give me some 'light' night-time reading. Appreciate it.
  25. I've been looking to get away from the bulky PFD and go with the inflatable vest this year. Searched the forum and saw the BPS XPS Deluxe Auto Inflate model mentioned and is listing as $149 USD from BPS. As I was looking over the various types, I wasn't sure what some of the terminology means ... so I knew just where to turn for the answers. First: What is the difference between a Type II and a Type V device ? Second: What does 1F, 3F, and 6F inflation mean ? Third: Do these units come with some kind of indicator as to when they need re-armed, I see BPS is selling re-arming kits. Are the difficult to re-arm ? Just received my Northern Angler BPS catalog today. I'll have to check out the musky baits .... sweet. Thanks in advance folks.
