  1. ...please provide picture of boat.
  2. Most candles are made with petroleum as well...eewww, dirty candles.
  3. You killed the battery for sure. Give it a charge and try again. If it normally takes 10 tries to start, make sure you have a good battery at all times. New plugs may help.
  4. I can understand not wanting to get near a thrashing shark...but don't be scared of your walleye.
  5. That's weird...I heard the same joke with Iggy and the Pope. The backhander sent him all the way back to Harvard...
  6. Definetely get the gas. Any box store 120V plug-in pressure washer is a pain. Biggest problem is plugging them into a big long extension cord at too light gauge of wire. These things are drawing a minimum 12 to 13 amps if plugged directly into the wall, add 50' of extension to get the thing to where you need to use it and the thing will overheat, trip thermal overloads or the breaker in your box. Even if you do get it work OK on the cord you have, the motor runs too hot and shortens it's life span. The cost of a decent 12 gauge extension cord of any length, may be as much as the pressure washer itself. The gas machine will go anywhere, limited only by a water supply. With a proper foot valve suction kit, you can even draw from the lake if need be. One thing to consider on any pressure washer, is not only the pressure, but more important is the flow rate. 1200 psi at 4 gpm will clean much better than 2400 psi at only 2 gpm.
  7. The wiper motor on my parent's 1978 Delta 88 gave up on me once in the middle of a rain storm. Knowing GM, it may still be the same part...
  8. Context...or the lack there of, can sometimes be a wonderful thing.
  9. Take heart Lew, the local forecast is only calling for 2 cm or less. The storm is skimming along just south of us here. radar
  10. So sorry to hear, Cliff. I just gave Moosy an extra hug.
  11. Well we had our last day on the ice yesterday. Not much to show for it, only a few dink perch. Still lotsa ice on the lake but access at the shoreline is getting real sketchy. My dog, Moosy, managed to find a soft spot as we were leaving the ice and went for an unexpected swim. It was only in two feet of water but enough to soak her from head to tail. Overall, we had a decent season. Got into a lot more crappie this year, but a lot less perch. Here's to hoping for an early ice-out...last year we were crappie fishing in the boat by April 1.
  12. No...but the team plays better in front of him.
  13. $1.3B represents the 66% share the pension plan owns of MLSE. MLSE represents alot more than just the Maple Leafs (though obviously it's the crown jewel). Raptors, TFC, Air Canada Centre, Ricoh Centre, BMO Field and god know's what else. If you buy the Yankees for $500M, Yankee Stadium ain't comin' with the deal.
  14. ...or wait til next fall and get the 2 HP at Costco for $280.
  15. My dish has 4 co-ax outputs from 2 LNBs on the dish. 2 outputs are used up by my HD PVR (dual tuner) and we have more receivers but haven't bothered to hook them up. We run 3 extra TVs all on the second tuner of the main receiver. This hasn't been an issue because we haven't found the need to have 3 different TVs on 3 different channels at the same time except when watching 2 TVs and wanting to record a 3rd program, time-shifting usually takes care of that. It also gives us access to all our PVR recordings on all the TVs in the house. Even if I do hook-up my additional receivers, I'll leave the current connections on separate inputs just to maintain that feature.
  16. Unfortunately, it doesn't really matter the political stripe...you're right though, the doom & gloom sells and the hyper news cycle leads to information overload. It's obviously a terrible situation in Japan, and we all should be concerned for those affected, but the world will go on.
  17. The more things change...the more they stay the same. These things have always happened...and always will. The sky is not falling. Fewer people die in war today than at anytime during the past century. In the 30's we had Stalin, 40's we had WWII, 50's we had Korea, 60's we had Viet Nam, in the 70's there was blood shead all over the Middle East in numerous wars and Idi Amin and Pol Pot in other parts of the world. Storms, earthquakes and volcanoes have always plagued humankind, even wiping out entire civilizations at times of history. It really isn't anything new...
  18. They would just end up in Winnipeg eventually...
  19. ...and their pension plan usually involves cement blocks (either as shoes or as walls).
  20. You gotta go with the flow of the season...grass won't need cutting for months. Well done, Cliff.
  21. It would start something like this... ...a Montreal man stuck his finger in his dog's ear today, apparently just out of bored curiousity,... You finish it...
  22. It would be pretty tacky to write you up after borrowing your boat. Did he offer gas money?
  23. I bought an Eskimo Mako 8" at Costco this year. Couldn't be happier, starts first pull, cuts ice like butter. No matter which brand, the most important thing is to protect the blades.
  24. Add these from tonight to the mix... ...and now we have a meal.
  25. It' supposed to make us jump up & down repeatedly shaking our fist & flipping the bird...that's some good cardio-vascular...
