  1. Having never fished the West Arm, nor Nipissing at all except for winter, what would the seasoned vets of the get-together recommend for the area in mid-June? I've got 5 or 6 rods to bring of various weights, lengths and actions, but spending 90% of my time on the Tri-Lakes, I don't know if I got the right tackle in my box. I guess pike and pickerel will be the targetted species. I don't use leaders very often except when targetting muskie, should I get some light leaders to save some baits from the toothy little pike? Any suggestions are welcome
  2. I have a lighter Clarus 6'6" spinning rod that I like just as much as my Compres, comes with the same warranty as the Compre as well.
  3. There may be others, but both Shell & Ultramar premium grade are ethanol free.
  4. We were out last night on Buckhorn, right amongst a school of crappie my buddy hooks into a nasty looking, scarred up 35" muskie. We managed to land the bugger, slipped right into the cradle with a 2" micro-tube in the corner of his mouth, all on 6lb mono. We figgered the crappie would shut down, but we kept on catching them...
  5. You'll have to enlighten me as to how Jack or Iggy would have kept our gas prices down? Carbon tax? Ya, that would work...
  6. Welcome Matt, I wouldn't worry too much about those bass (assuming they were released), it's a bit early for them to be spawning. We're in our prime crappie season right now in the Kawarthas and incidental bass are quite common. Just tonight my buddy pulled a 4lb largemouth on a 2" micro-tube, it happens.
  7. We struggled yesterday to find any fish in numbers...we didn't get out til about 1pm so I guess we missed the flurry. Friday evening the fish were on fire, despite the wind & rain.
  8. Not much different than the MSDS for many of your common household products.
  9. Crestliner is a fine boat.
  10. Maybe the people flying you in could be of assistance...
  11. C'mon Bob, we haven't been making fun of you for 25 years...(yet).
  12. "Brought in" by whom exactly?
  13. Iggy might not even win his seat...
  14. I think most "blue liberals" just might be voting Tory today...
  15. The Marijuana Party didn't have a candidate in my riding either...
  16. Thanks for the heads up, Garry, We did quite well on Saturday at one of our traditional spots, but they weren't on the "spot on the spot" that they usually are and still not in the numbers they can be. There was no wind to speak of, so I can't comment on your theory.
  17. Now that's a good question...
  18. Now that's why I love this place...
  19. I don't understand what you mean. Everybody is free to leave and never visit again. Like anything else in life, what you leave behind is your problem. Why does everything you contributed need to be "deleted" when you leave. If you are embarrased by what you might have posted at some time or another, maybe it's time to think before hitting the "enter" key.
  20. That about says it all...
  21. It don't look like the carp have much to worry about...
  22. Basically, you're expected to pay tax on every single private sales transaction, somebody already mentioned garage sales, there's a tax base waiting to be pillaged by the tax man if they could only find a way. The reason your forced to pay tax on used cars, boats, snowmobiles, etc. is because they need to be registered, leaving a paper trail for the bloodhounds to follow.
  23. You will have paid tax on the trailer when you transferred ownership and received plates at the MTO office.
  24. But it's still not funded by HST charged on used boat sales.
  25. Well ya, it's called insurance. Just like my $500 a year in home insurance premiums entitles me to a claim worth hundreds of thousands of dollars if, God forbid, my house burns down. I may be wrong, it happens once and a while, but I believe that EI benefits are completely funded by the EI premiums paid by all the working folk. I don't know if it's still the case, but it used to run a surplus.
