  1. lighter line, FLOURO is a must. downsizing baits occasionally, more natural presentation, and more natural bait shapes, and colors.
  2. looks like a bowfin. if i recall, snakeheads have a flatter head, and more predominate teeth. and are a much darker color as well arent they?
  3. dark or stained waters go with larger, dark or very bright colored lures. clear water go with more subtle and natural colors.
  4. slammers are awesome baits. i use them 87% of the time im dropshotting. fishing a dropshot verticle or dragging it on a long line are both effective and both have their time and place. just remember when dragging it, use a larger lead from weight to hook. it can be fished from a solitary position, like being anchored, or can be fished moving slowly or fast. depending on the fishes mood and the type of structure ur fishing, each way can be very productive.
  5. spiderwire, never had problems with it breaking off like that. i use it in tests from 10-65lb andnever had issues with any. i had that problem with power pro before, too many breaks and just seemed weaker overall then other brands.
  6. unless its made of goretex... its garbage. if u want a good quality rainsuit, u HAVE to spend the money on it. i got a cheaper shimano suit for 150 and while its good in say... the fog... if its raining, i get wet still, waves off the side of the boat, yup.. wet too... and wind blocking... whats that? lol, really though, if u truely wanna stay dry and comfortable, u gotta spend the coin and get a goretex suit.
  7. i think its gonna be more then a few weeks before we start to see any salmon there. water temps are gonna have to come down quite a bit first before they start to stage and run
  8. i vote for Bobby D! www.chartertalk.com been out twice with him and had an absolute blast! put me and the wife on lots of fish and got my lovely lady her PB walleye, over 29" long. there is no one who knows that area better then Bob, and he'll get ya on whatever species u wanna catch!
  9. lol, wow... u guys really get ur heads moving on this one eh?! i wasnt tryin to start a debate, i just thought that was an interesting bit of info. they have been with shimano forever. Bob Devine had a great point on the topic. now, me personally, i think the lindners are just fine finacially. so, going to the highest bidder may not be true. as someone else pointed out, with all the gear we have available to us, its all a matter of preference. i dont care what a company pays me, if i dont have the utmost confidence in their products, im not going to use or endorse them. someone pointed out that boyd duckett left E21 over issues with production of the rods he helped design. Started his own company and is doing quite well. heres a thought... MAYBE, the lindners just preferred the look, feel and performance of quantum rods and reels over shimano? as ive said many time before when guys on here ask advice on buying new gear... asking anyone on here is useless, because we are ALL bias. we are all loyal to the gear we use, so when someone asks about a new reel, half will say buy shimano, others will say buy quantum, others will say abu garcia... and so on. just because something work and feels right for u, doesnt mean it will be good and feel right for the next guy. now, considering quantum has been around for many years, and has one of the best prostaffs in the business, the top angler in the sport... they must be doing SOMETHING right!!
  10. http://blog.wired2fish.com/blog/bid/40226/Lindners-Sign-with-Quantum-for-Rods-and-Reels-of-Choice some of the best... sign on to use the best!!
  11. caught a folding lawnchair... complete with approximately 14 assorted hooks and lures attatched to it lol. 55gal drum... now that was tough to get in! 60lb and 75lb snappers... one ate my net. rod and reel. a boot, seagull, goose, camera.

  13. check out the quantum Tour KVD cranking rods. there are 6 different models i believe. awesome rods, great action, designed by KVD. they have a life time warrenty and quantum is the easiest and best place i have ever dealt with for warrenty issues.
  14. it looks like a pissed off striper! lol but at 6 meters long... u might wanna up size ur bait to somethin a bit bigger then a medium sized rat... maybe a medium to larger sized dog would work...
  15. always trying to learn something new! with bass fishing, im always reading up on new techniques and trying to master then as best i can. couple years ago i started dropshotting and have become very good at it, used that technique to win a few tournaments so far. also learned to drift for trout on the lower niagara with a buddy last winter. gonna try float fishing next spring.
  16. dont listen to smalliefisher... he knows nuthing! lol no, hes correct. each flouro is different. but if ur fishing heavy cover like u said, and showed in ur pic... just tie on 65lb braid, and no leader. u really dont need a leader in that case.
  17. for less then the price of the curado, u can get a quantum energy PT which i personally believe is a better reel then the curado.
  18. quantum smoke PT baitcating reels, new koppers live target baits, strike king baits. to name just a few lol
  19. they found the boys body yesterday.... not the ending everyone wanted.
  20. i dunno... hes only showing shimano stuff... lol
  21. meh, not bad. but im way more excited for the new quantum smoke PT reels
  22. as said, before u fish a tourney, check out the rules... lots of tournament organizers are making the big safety pin/stringer type clips ILLEGAL to use. the CBAF was the first club to do it, and others are following suit. its not necessarily because they are harming the fish, when put in properly, but some guys fail to take care putting them on the fish, and others use them to pick up the fish causing damage. culling tags are used to identify which fish is which, not to pick up the fish!
  23. lol, more like pitchin... lol
