My 'set up' is valu village sweaters and socks. Lol The only IMO thing worth shelling out big bucks for is bibs and boots. I splurged on Helly Hansen bibs and don't regret it for a second.

Wool is great if you have something to break the wind with over top of it. I wear wool sweaters and plaid coats often in the winter and will usually wear a summer rain coat over top to break wind. For ice fishing, i highly reccomend bibs/overalls as opposed to waist height snowpants. And if youre interested in purchasing a floater suit spend the extra money and get a two piece!!!

Very interesting show, and the only one of the sort thats even remotely watchable. Seems to be 'relatively' unscripted and authentic, unlike all the other junk programming.

Hey! The 'round' lake haha. Never had much luck to speak of in those little brookie potholes. I DO know they hold fish though. Were most of your bows that silver? I dont fish that lake too much but most of the fish seem to be much more coloured up. Good to see you guys had a good time

I have an Fl-18, and i love it. In my opinion the vex and Marcum's are far superior to the humminbirds. The only feature my fl-18 doesnt have is zoom, which can be handy for certain situations but is mostly an overrated feature imo. The tri beam transducer is the most important feature for me. A good quality graph works great, but the battery life isnt nearly what you get from a vex from what ive seen. I can usually get 6-7 full trips on a single charge no matter the weather, and are typically a little tougher than a big lcd graph, especially if youre taking it out 5 months a year like me. Just my 0.02

Ron - i can only imagine Simon - big rivers that hold spawning wallys in the spring should definitely hold whitefish from what i understand Pidge - i havent seen another soul fishing since september. Probably the one and only perk of not having a PAL

Whitefish taste worlds apart from herring, and are delicious fried. Herring are way oiler and terrible when cooked conventionally. I imagine they would be good smoked though.
