  1. If you wanna catch panfish this time of year, just put a micro tube under a slip float and fish shallow bays until you get bit...you'll know when you've found them.
  2. Yes, he's prolific to say the least. Listening to some Northcote...Awesome canadian talent. Hoping to see his set on April 2nd in Toronto.
  3. I don't use braid, and will always tie direct unless I'm specifically esox fishing. I'm also not the type to fly through my whole tackle box in a days fishing.
  4. Joel Plaskett - Lazy Bones http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2zj9XreKhs
  5. They're the same species...steelhead is a term used to describe rainbow trout that migrate to spawn. Seems like a pretty basic concept...?
  6. I don't mind. I make sure they know that there definitely isn't, and that they tell all their friends.
  7. 58 degree water? That is absolutely nuts, and find that hard to believe. Nice pike though!
  8. Talon Lake might be a good option. Cheaper than some of the options you listed, and I doubt you'd have a problem catching walleye and pike. The only thing easier is the grouse hunting. Talon Lake Lodge
  9. I do agree, but they are no redds in the lower stretch where the smelt fishing is taking place...at least not in the deep, slow pools where the netting takes place.
  10. The creek you're talking about is a sanctuary for atlantic salmon spawning exclusively as far as I know, so the CO's tend to be relaxed about smelters going there. It certainly gets a lot of smelt.
  11. Nice brownie. Absolutely beautiful down by the lake. Quite rare to see it quite so calm.
  12. I wonder how many times you've done this now.... You make extremely unsubstantiated comments (often offensive). You then receive well-deserved rebuttals, blame it on the 'young-un's' then cry to the mods for everyone being in a sour mood. Why is it out of line for someone to question whether or not the fish were taken legally? Seems perfectly sensible since it IS being posted on the internet for all to see. I'd hope that OFC takes all measures to promote ethical, legal fishing practices, and this is a prime example.
  13. Never caught an atlantic that fat. Those little brownies are absolute footballs.
  14. There's a SAIL about five minutes away...
  15. Beautiful fish. Great report. This year is definitely the earliest I've ever hung up the ice tackle.
  16. I thought the same thing...but it is a brown. I've found that some will not have as many spots, making them look more like an atlantic.
  17. Spent the day casting for pike, while battling the mightiest of hangovers...
  18. Some food for thought...Some of you should really take this article to heart. http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/7654198/the-writer-crap-my-dad-says-why-your-team-give-damn-you I like cheering for Montreal, but you won't catch me getting upset over those bunch of goons, let alone throw around childish insults because someone said something wrong about your favorite little group of millionaires
  19. Yep! heavy lines, big hooks, and stinky meat. They're not shy
  20. Well, I know you can purchase individual topographic maps for your navionics chips, so maybe buy yourself one of the chips that includes Simcoe and go from there? It's a big investment but I assure you you won't regret it.
  21. If the only place you're fishing is directly under the boat, then yes...
  22. Lookin' lonely out there... Boy did the ice ever go quick. Nice perchies.
  23. Days into Years? I absolutely love it, maybe my favourite one yet. If I Get Old might be my favourite track by them yet.
  24. Good one. I also don't think I've ever had a pair of sunglasses last more than one calendar year.
