Richard, are you going to use this as a dual purpose fish finder? (Summer in the boat, winter on the ice?)

I love fishing with my oldman, the older he gets the more and more I enjoy it. I do like solo trips however. It looks like this spring I'll be by myself hunting for big pike, should be a fun week.

I have had a Garmin GPSMap 62 I've used for years. Only thing I need to remember to do is carry spare batteries.. That thing has taken a beating and hasn't stopped yet.

I've found GBay muskie to be pretty localized (At least in the early season). I've had the same fish follow when bass fishing 3 years in a row within throwing distance of the same deep rock ledge. One day maybe I'll actually see him when I've got my musky gear with me, lol!! If you raise fish, make sure to waypoint the spot. The odds are good you can go back and might get stung.

All depends on the day, some days it's double digits, some days it's zero. My best advice is to move until you're on a school of active fish. The worst thing you can do is sit on fish that just aren't feeding. I'd probably hit up Ryan @ WePoundEm.. Those boys are always on the fish and they won't sit on inactive fish for very long until they're on the move.
