  1. That splake is awesome man!
  2. Nice slabs.
  3. Just saw it on the news... Glad they got one guy out.
  4. We'll put a beating on the whities, just gimme a call
  5. Closer to those JDM reels eh?
  6. Sounds like he was flying like an ass and paid the price. Case closed.
  7. Nope, braid right to the frog. Frogs aren't something I like to throw in pike territory because of exactly that. You could try some thick mono leader maybe? 40lb or so? At least it wouldn't pull the frog down in the pockets like flouro or titanium would.
  8. I think as technology advances you'll see units with better bottom separation, although most units are a few inches at most now. This is why I love my side scan on the 899HD SI I've got on the console. I can mark big rock piles off to the side, set a waypoint then work my way around and get perfect lure placement. Big rocks and all those nooks and crannies are always going to be a pain. I just wanna know if there's fish on them, if I can get one to rise up and see it, the graph has done it's job.
  9. I'd like to use a HB 360 icefishing
  10. What does it do better then a HB or Lowrance? It's not like you can up and move 30ft in order to take advantage of it. To me it's way too cluttered. I get a 'live' show of what's going on below me with my 597HD just fine. Even on the boat I'd probably choose a HB 360 over this. The most important thing to me when vertical fishing (whether that's through the ice or not) is real time action of my lure and the fish below it. 2d/3d really doesn't matter. I will say this however.. On schools of fish like crappies or similar that can be very stationary to cover this would be a pretty useful tool. For whities/lakers? eh... I dunno... those fish rarely just sit still.
  11. Scary stuff.
  12. I don't think the Panoptix is going to help you ice more fish. Might look a bit prettier but that's about it.
  13. It's not dead
  14. We're all headed to Terrys spot, no need for a Garmin anymore
  15. You can see the snowmobile trails on Google Maps right into the lake Zoom in, lol
  16. Bah, that cold snap shut all the fish down, nothing you can do about it. It's not like everyone was smashing them and you weren't It's all about the timing. Simcoe is probably one of the best laker/whitefish fisheries in this province. What's scary is that it easily supports all the fishing pressure which is pretty impressive if you think about it.
  17. Matt's alive!! lol!
  18. Spend $1500 on a beater sled instead.
  19. Awesome! Wicked fishery from top to bottom.
  20. Bear Point should be fine.. It's the Oro side that's nasty with pressure cracks for the most part.
  21. Lots of ice out there. Just watch a few of the big pressure cracks on the Oro side (9th and 10th line I've heard are bad)
  22. Diesel isn't going anywhere. I think some people forget that trains and transport trucks use diesel fuel Let's hope this isn't a disaster like the original EcoBoost. If Forst is smart, they'll use another company to supply the engine (Like GMC does with the Duramax and Dodge does with the Cummins)
  23. Happens on Simcoe all the time. I see guys out there drilling holes, peaking down, moving 5ft and drilling again. Seriously do you think there's a lack of perch in Simcoe that you need to drop Xmas trees down in order to provide cover? Should be charged for that crap.
  24. Now if we could only get the idiots who drop Xmas trees in the water before the ice hits to stop, lol.
