Crap, I wish I knew you wanted an offset Brian, I could have let you fish my AngSpec before I got rid of it so you could have at least tried one out.. I really liked that reel, but the small reel foots on the Frogwater and the Paine Falls are so much more comfortable for me.. Perhaps a simple change of technique would do the trick?

That's the problem with the GoPro. Fisheye lenses rarely make for good pictures. I'd say 12-13lbs?

I've got the Simms Windstopper fold over mitt for steelhead fishing, they work awesome. Although if it's really REALLY cold, I've got some rag wool/alpaca mitts that keep me warm even if they're soaking wet.

I'm really surprised they didn't try to gank it, lol!

By all means, fight the fish for 15-20min and release it belly up.. Sounds like sportsmanship to me! There's a reason why people want to get the fish in quick and released..

You can't really compare them, it's a completely different type of fishing.. I'll still get excited when I hook a 12in brookie in a small Grey/Bruce stream.. The Sutton won't take away any of that.. I get excited about spending time on the river with buddies, having good days and lots of laughs, fish are just a bonus

Wait, who's complaining about boots again? I love fishing for them in the estuary water when they are staging, puts a steelhead to shame with the way they fight. Now if you're ganking them in the back while they are in 3ft of water, that's a different story. Great way to spend a fall evening if you ask me.

I would have loved to tussle with this thing about 3 months ago in the lake! That being said, he definitely didn't lay over and die, put up a great fight.

Especially when they are like this! Had almost spooled me twice, had to chase it with the boat.

Even I thought that was funny, although a lit bit of very important info is missing from my fish eating story... I'm allergic to freshwater fish, not saltwater. So the thought process was, catch a chromer from the bay and maybe, just maybe I'd be fine.. Unfortunately it still didn't work out, lol!

Time for a vest, or wading jacket or sling pack, lol.
