  1. You'll wanna beef up that rig if you plan on fishing the deep stuff for the monsters.
  2. I wouldn't, I fish for way too many different kinds of fish to have a single rod/reel.
  3. Pick up a older Canon 20/30/40/50D or something... Could probably get one of those and a kit lens for under $500 with ease.
  4. I dunno if a tablet would be my first choice for photo storage....
  5. You definitely wanna drift in tight to the wood Sometimes 6-7inches will make all the difference between getting bit or going home with a skunk.
  6. Your shot pattern all depends on the river you are fishing. For the most part it's bigger to smaller (Unless you're fishing fast flows and you want to bulk shot right about your leader)... Steelhead aren't fussy, biggest mistake I see new guys make (And I did when I started) was running their rigs way too shallow and using far to big a float and too much weight.. All you're doing with a rig like that is smashing your roebag/bead whatever into the bottom and dragging it around.. That's not a very natural presentation.. I like to run a longer leader then most 36in+ with a 4-5gr float in slower flows... and if I need a few dust shot on it, then so be it.. If you aren't getting bit on your first 6 drifts, change something.. Making the same drift over and over again without changing up if you aren't getting bit is silly.
  7. Useless, cool hero comment. Kemper is right though... There's no need to go bang a few fish then come here and spill the beans about it because you want a little internet stardom. Keep it under your hat and enjoy your little secret for as long as it lasts...
  8. There is a lot of residue in the Blackbird shot, rinsing them off then putting them back into the containers would most likely help quite a bit.
  9. Time to pick up a DSLR and manual focus all you want!
  10. I use my teeth.. I'm sure I'll keel over one day in the river due to lead poisoning, but it works great
  11. I think the only thing to do now is buy stock in the gas companies.. There's a reason why they post multi-billion profits each year.
  12. Yup, AEB bracketing would be the ticket. Will take 3 pics.. Depending on your settings (Full or half stop) you'll get one picture that's under exposed, one that's exposed properly, then one that over exposed) Combine all 3 and voila!! HDR!
  13. Winged shot act like fins in the water, you aren't getting a very natural drift with them pulling your bait all over the place.
  14. I hope he got my sarcasm , lol.
  15. Go and find out then let all of us know.
  16. Those depths are correct and are in fanthoms.. Navionics isn't going to give anyone free charts They want you to oohhh and awwww about them so you purchase their map cards.
  17. Mouth of the Humber is shallow. Within casting distance it's 4-6ft.
  18. Pinch those barbs while you're at it boys! Great fish.
  19. Alright, so you're going right through Barrie. It's an option if you can't find anything else. Also Epps on Hwy11 as well, just outside of Orillia.
  20. Where are you heading? If through Barrie, stop in at Rack and Reel before you head up 11 or the 400.
  21. Sheet metal screws from Canadian Tire are cheaper and work just as good. I've got a bunch of them on my G4's.
  22. That moose was pretty beat trying to get out of the swingset (You could hear him breathing extremely heavy).. CO did the right thing..
  23. Ah tips, not tip sections Looks like I misunderstood you..
