  1. I think your Dr will suggest the closet pier and some glow spoons. Please make an appointment ASAP!
  2. If I caught anything that was extremely close to 60inches and 30inches of girth, it would be coming home with me.. World record or one for the wall.
  3. Actually I do, lol (Still waiting for that monster lake trout!)
  4. The 100yrd hero hooksets, lol. Besides direct contact to the fish (Which is really nice compared to mono), it also doesn't twist like mono with the side cast. I run 6lb Nanofil on my lighter setup (Loomis IM6 + Frogwater) and my casting distance is silly. I can also mend like it crazy... I love the stuff until the below zero temps come, after that the ice will rip to shreds. I run 8lb Drennan Super Specialist once that weather gets here.
  5. Absolutely, if there were any doubts, she'd be going back.
  6. If you're filling your entire spool with braid, you're doing something wrong.. I only ever buy 1 spool to fill the pin, the rest is backing.. 150yrds is more then enough, I've never come close to the backing, regardless of where I'm fishing (Even early season estuary chinook fishing)
  7. I'd kill a WR muskie in a second and not feel bad about it..
  8. Be quiet, we all know those fish at Burt make that 70ft jump into the spawning waters!!!! I love the anti-roe crowd, relying on their own opinions instead of facts. I'd love to know their stance on the 5 fish limit out in the lake.. You want to talk about impact to the fishery? lol
  9. Yup, chinnoks aren't line shy.. Although running 8lb main with 8 or 10lb leader might lead to a few lost floats! Bump up your main a bit, then you'll be able to run a stronger leader. Although if a fresh chinook decides to take off, it doesn't matter what rig you have, you aren't going to turn it.. Hold on and enjoy!
  10. Fish them just like you would through the ice.. tube jigs, ice jigs, live minnows, etc.
  11. $70 Shimano Convergence @ LeBarons.. 10'6... Not the greatest pier rod (aside from a custom build) but for the price you can't beat it.
  12. Snidley, I'd love to see some facts that state Bronte was a great brown fishery and because of people taking the big females home for roe, it's now been decimated. I love some of the 'info' you pull out of your rear end, lol!
  13. The Sutton was up over 2ft when we fished it a few weeks ago. I guess it all depends on the watershed.

    Notty

I now no longer use eggs, but marshmellows and big treble hooks. I've been saved! LOL

    Notty

Well it's not like these fish are stocked. If you want roe, head down to lake O and grab a big mutant, or go stateside. Taking roe from a wild fish out of GBay is pretty bad. I'm sure you might get some immature skein out of smaller eaters, but a big roe wagon? You've gotta let those girls do their thing.

    Notty

Sorry man, I don't take skein or eggs from any fish in the Notty. That's blasphemy.
  17. Wow, my dad actually was part owner of that lodge in the early 90's... Here's a hint, go to the far south of the lake, take the 100ft portage trail into Pineland lake. Giant snakes in there and lots of them.. I dunno if the current lodge owners even know that lake exists (I bet there are still boats cached there as well).. A few spec lakes on the trails behind the lodge towards the train tracks as well. Bring your shotgun, lots of grouse back there as well.
  18. I should have said 'another fishing venue'
  19. Yeah, 50mms in Alliston will blow out that river with ease. Unless you like fishing chocolate milk, I'd find something else to do.
  20. Yup, south wind @ Port D would be great. I used to fish those piers ALL the time when I was a kid.. Harbour is great for browns as well.
  21. 40mm at the Beach isn't going to do anything to the river... Now, 40mm in Alliston is a different story.
  22. What you should be hoping for is a north wind to push all that warm water away.
  23. There will be lots of salmons!!!! Catchings salmons with my 5 diamonds in the back!
