  1. Are you replying now because the jets are in the playoffs? If I’m correct, that’s the team you were going to jump ship to right? Although you must be having second thoughts the way their season ended, Calgary might be more your flavour Of the week. i still don’t see a single point worth even talking about aside from “the leafs lack heart” you sound like every old guy in the dressing room that I hear talking after my hockey games. Literally 0 in depth analysis, just complete blanket statements. “They aren’t tough enough”, “they are gonna get steamrolled” that’s all you’ve got? Thanks oh hockey wise one for your highly intellectual input.
  2. See there you go, resale on my boat is probably about $11,000, blue book is $1,500 yet insurance will only give you blue book value. That’s the problem, there’s no way they would give you $20,000 if it’s stolen, even if that’s the reality. I believe your personal belongings in the boat can still be covered by your house insurance as well. If someone hits you, then you can hand them your car insurance because it covers the trailer and your vehicle. The boat damage is on them.
  3. We’ve got 30 inches still up at my place, locked right up. When the ice just won’t go away, run away from it with the boat to lake Marion South Carolina! See you guys next week!
  4. Ya every kit requires you to send your ECU off for reprogramming. I spoke to the diesel doctors in acton and they won’t do the flip on the eco diesels. They say that the kits that are out are all garbage and aren’t from reputable enough companies that they would back the work that they would do doing the conversion. That told me a lot.
  5. Serious question as I can’t remember the exact age of your boat, but have you ever considered going insuranceless? i crunched the numbers when I bought mine, plus looked up the stats on boat “incidents” i was totally blown away but what I discovered. 1. According to blue book value, my boat was worthless. A close to mint condition 98 skeeter with a Yamaha 130 was valued at $1,500. (If you find one for sale at this price please let me know I’ll Pay triple lol) 2. Unless you are drunk, you basically will never be involved in a boating accident that will result in an injury or fatality. Add alcohol and the entire story changes. It’s actually disturbing. I don’t really drink, so this one was a simple one for me.
  6. I think what we saw the second half of the season was a hell of a lot of A) injuries to defensemen (the leafs don’t have depth at D, their line up is actually ok without injuries but not deep enough when someone gets hurt) B)- complacency: the team got such a big lead but Tampa was so friggin far into the playoffs they were uncatchable. They lost a lot of their edge and clearly just looked flat a lot of games. The curse of being the maple leafs is that every damn home game turns into a hockey night in Canada for the opposition. 50% of visiting team’s rosters are from the GTA so teams end up getting super hyped to come home to Toronto and play in front of their friends and family on the Toronto broadcast. Specifically on Saturday nights it’s a damn curse. When was the last time the leafs had an easy Saturday night matchup? That game always turns into a damn barn burner cause teams just come in absolutely fired up to play hockey night in Canada in Toronto. C) the third factor is just that the style they were playing was getting a bit stale, teams were exposing the D once again because they knew that ozighanov and marincin couldn’t make the puck moving plays that the system requires in order for the leafs to have success. They play a stretch game that requires the d to be mobile and move pucks very quickly. Like last year, polak was getting absolutely ruined because the book got out that if you threw the puck in his corner he couldn’t get the puck back out. With the full roster healthy, and the guys playing with a clean slate, I wouldn’t worry about the “slumps” that a few guys were in...in fact both kapanen and Nylander scored in the last game. A huge factor in this series will be, what happens with Auston Matthews, we all know what happens when he gets fired up and goes into “god mode” he has the capability to take over a game, if the leafs get that version of him, plus a marner tavares line that’s firing on all cylinders? That’s what you want. With this team you know what it’s capable of, you know you have 3 absolute super stars, plus a really good supporting cast that can score almost at will when firing on all cylinders. You know you have a goalie that’s vezina quality when playing well. Like any team, to win in the playoffs it takes a team that is firing. Time will tell what team shows up. I personally think that the playoffs are the exact motivation and kick in the butt that this team needs to start really firing again. The keys to the series here are 1. does John Tavares or Auston Matthews do a good enough job to at least make the Bergeron matchup close last year it was a landslide victory by that line, and 2. Who wins the goalie duel. Freddie has the better season stats. Don’t relate spark’s 2-9 record over his last 11 games taint the picture of the goaltending in Toronto. Rask also struggled a lot towards the end of the season, probably just like Freddie due to fatigue. Finally last year, Toronto went into Boston green, the game was over within the first two shifts of game. The kids were totally overwhelmed they had no idea what they had gotten themselves Into. The Bergeron line just steamrolled over the Nylander line (yes he was playing centre, kadri got the boot) the matchups that Bergeron line was getting were ugly for Toronto. Leafs know what to expect in the gardens game one, they’ve all been there now and know exactly what to expect. If you can even bring that Bergeron matchup close, the second and specifically the third line of Toronto should hopefully totally expose the lack of speed and depth that Boston has. Cue the weak one sentence punchline chirp posts from fans of non playoff teams. My favourite are the ones where they complain about my posts being “too long” and “sharing too much of my thoughts” because they are “stupid and uninformed” while offering no rebuttal or insightful information to counteract my opinions.
  7. lol I love how much value people are giving meaningless games where half of the D core isnt playing. Can someone explain to me why the same team as last year that took boston 7 + John Tavares + Jake Muzzin Are apparently going to get swept by the bruins subtract Rick Nash? Whats different than last year? Is it that Roman Polak isnt playing lmao? If not him it must be Alex Plekenec then that is their major downfall compared to last year.
  8. hate mine...already plugged it up once, luckily that one was under warranty...im screwed the next time it happens. Still no reputable companies making a delete and reflash for them yet either....im waiting patiently.
  9. PLAYOFF PREDICTIONS WEST: Nash Vs. Dallas - Nas in 6 St. Louis Vs. Winnipeg - WIN In 7 Calgary vs. Colorado - Calg in 6 SanJose vs. Vegas - SJ in 7 EAST: Tampa vs. Columbus - Tampa in 4 Boston vs. Toronto - Toronto in 7 Wash vs. Carolina - Wash in 7 NYI vs. Pitt - PIT in 5
  10. I also believe that the leafs win round 1. Boston caught them off guard last year, they weren’t ready to play in the gardens. The team is vastly better with the addition of JT and Muzzin. I’ve got the leafs in 7
  11. if its anything like trying to fish walleye in the spring on G bay then it will be nuts. You cant keep the damn smallies the heck away.
  12. something ive wanted to try for years, maybe this will be the year I try it out.
  13. you must drive a pickup with the sticker on the front...cause if she was on the back, how in the heck did you not manage to have a cop behind you once the entire year.
  14. I want to take a moment to gloat in the fact that 3 weeks ago i said that the habs were going to end up missing the playoffs by a hair and ending up with the worst possible draft pick while being out of playoff contention. I also said all of the races were over and no one believed me lol ? cant waive sparks, hes ineligible to play the AHL playoffs as well. I personally think that Bobock finally won the war. He didnt want sparks from the get go because his only focus is to win games now. Management wanted to see what they had with sparks, so they gave him the starts, the leafs were in a comfortable spot that afforded them to experiment and test the waters. Finally playoff time has arrived and Babcock got his wish, which is to assemble to best possible team that he can to try and win. That means having a reliable back up goalie should they need it in a bad scenario. Its also not about Hutch stepping in to play regular games, its safe to say that if Anderson goes down, its over...but there could be a game that they go down 3 quick and it may be beneficial to throw a backup in to try and play out the rest of the game. Anything can happen in the playoffs. One good thing is that everyone is finally back healthy (as healthy as you can be after playing 82 games) Also sounds like Rosen has climbed to the top of the depth chart, no more marincin or ozighanov
  15. will be installed when i get back from South Carolina!
  16. this feels eerily similar to the time that I tried to obtain a Toronto Harbour permit during the "off season" A lady on the phone was giving me a hard time because I wanted to use my boat in the identifiable "harbour" which spans a distance from the Humber River all of the way up to the Scarborough Bluffs. Eventually I got to speak to the actual harbour master on the phone eventually and he basically said "dont go near the ferries, and stay the hell away from the airport, Ill get you your permit issued" Just another road block for outdoorsmen. Funny the people that really care about these places the most seem to catch the most flak. The passing tourist always seems to be their focus.
  17. if its between the Habs and columbus or carolina? I definitely would rather see another canadian team in the fray. I dont think they are going to make it, but at the same time A canadiens vs Leafs playoff series needs to happen.
  18. God the playoffs can’t come soon enough. Laughing stock of the league? But then you mention that your favourite team doesn’t even belong in the nhl? if the leafs are gonna outshoot everyone 40-20 and generate 80 scoring chances per game, I like their odds playoffs cant come soon enough!
  19. on my lake if my neighbor died, you be sure as hell id be in there taking his boat out for him. I guess its just not the same on all of our lakes.
  20. you are right, i dont know why i thought there was...i think my wallet was hurtin so bad last march that it seemed like everything cost me an arm and a leg lol. DONT FORGET TO DO IT THOUGH. Such a common mistake is to not register the vessel. its a weird process but has to be done!
  21. a word of advice, when you got to register the trailer and get your plates, take your boat to somewhere where they have no idea what the heck to do. Seriously. I got my registration done at Dufferin and Eglinton, the lady just said...uh how much is a boat trailer worth??? I ended up paying $200 in taxes total for both the boat and the trailer. Also do not forget that you are also required to register your boat with transport canada. A small additional fee but its required. That one can be confusing, but if you look it up you will find where you need to go.
  22. rematch??? that was the deciding game. Habs have 4 games left while Columbus has 5. All Columbus has to do is match the habs point total with a game in hand. That game last night to me was the decider. Habs play the jets caps lightning and leafs while columbus plays ottawa, NY, Boston, Buffalo and Nashville. You tell me who has an easier run left. The west is pretty much settled unless something drastic happens.
  23. kinda really surprising that with the loser point, that the races are pretty meh this year. That regulation loss by the habs has them all but out now. Phoenix is a full two points back in the west. Pretty much a snooze fest until playoffs start.
  24. went out with Taro Murata, we were bass fishing but decided to divert our attention to getting some table fare for an hour. ive only been on the perch once while fishing simcoe...and what cisco is describing is exactly how we were fishing. results speak for themselves
  25. the fact that you use the term "snowflakes" tells me absolutely everything I need to know.
