  1. Holy crap, very very nice. I’m still struggling like heck to find active fish. I had one window one morning and since then I can’t seem to get much consistency going at all. Interesting comment about the jerkbait, maybe I need to give the swimbait more of a dunk. Well done!
  2. I’m here all week, could do Friday or a shorter Sunday too
  3. Hey guys, couple changes of plans up here in Pointe Au Baril. i want to fish all weekend but my partners all just bailed. anyone thinking they’d like to try for some pike and maybe some walleye and crappie this Friday or Saturday in pointe au baril shoot me a pm. I think by fishing day 4 I might be getting a bit lonely lol. to bring - your own transportation to PAB, food, gear and a pleasant attitude I’ll take care of the rest.
  4. Buy used from the states... the new helix 5’s and 7’s double as a flasher/graph for ice fishing with an actual “ice fishing mode” now with the update that came out last year. Best bang for your buck bar none. i personally run two helix 7’s at the console and a helix 9 at the bow of my boat and absolutely love them. Best imaging in the game.
  5. signed up as an affiliate, if anyone is placing orders use my link ? https://tackledepot.ca?ref:Nzg0Ni40NDQuNjUxMS5U
  6. I will definitely be sending you guys a list of stuff that I believe there would be a demand for. so far I’m impressed with the pricing on a lot of the baits and tackle. Directly in line with any competition, but here you get a discount plus save the gas money of driving to the store. I think they would struggle to be as competitive with the northern tinner trolling crowd’s wants and needs, but there is an absolutely huge opportunity to capitalize on the modern bass fisherman market. There’s only a few stores that carry stock of this stuff up here, and even then they definitely struggle to maintain consistent stock. That’s the ultimate challenge, trying not to run out of immensely popular baits like evergreen jackhammers and jackal rhythm waves etc. lots of places claim to sell this stuff, but anytime you go to a place like sail they are sold out. Thats what will float or sink this company, if the pricing is at least competitive and in line with what it should be, maintaining stock will make or break tackle depot. I’m excited that there is another player in the market, I think you guys might clean up big time if you can pull it off.
  7. I’m hoping a power outage is the only reason for him not posting this morning
  8. Ugh, Ohio please check in with us when you get a chance. Woke up to some absolutely terrible news from your neck of the woods.
  9. It’s the Walleye Fishing that people go there for. There is definitely big smallies that spawn in there that then seem to move back out when finished up. caught an absolutely monster there a couple weeks back. second biggest smallie of my life while trying to drop shot some walleye. She didn’t even leave the net or water, hook popped out and I dumped her right back in.
  10. Any plan to actually maintain as extensive of stock as TW? Understanding that you guys are just starting out. Just noticing that you currently have somewhat limited selection of JDM tackle
  11. Just got home from my own hockey game and flipped the game on...I can’t take listening to Hughson cream his pants about the bruins all game. him and his crony gloated for 6 minutes straight about the bruins and how great they are....yet they are losing 2-1at home.
  12. good stuff, my buddy has been saying the tri lakes are finally starting to get going.
  13. you cant trust "open water" with a GPS its not so bad because for the most part you can follow drive lines, aside from that though all bets are off. There are random rocks in the middle of huge basins. By far my favourite shoal in the lake though is the one right smack dab in the middle of the shawanaga river. You can drive straight down that river and its between 15 and 35 feet the whole way and just as you are about to get into the opening theres a rock that spans across the entire river. Easy to spot non locals when fishing in there. They always try to run right over the shoal. Im usually a nice guy, if you slow down and are respectful as you pass me fishing Ill warn you...if you blow past at full throttle, you are on your own. Ive seen a few lower ends taken off.
  14. lol I dont know a single person watching hockey anymore
  15. wish i could help you on the rpice I will tell you that we owned a 95...? Johnson and those electrical issues didnt seem to go away. Wed buy another computer for it and it would fry itself after continuous use. got to the point we were replacing it every year. Dont know if its the same issue, but I just know it sucked when the thing decide to quit on us while we were out fishing one fall and we got stranded at night half an hour down the lake from home. holy friggin cow that dude's OCD is intense lol
  16. glad this happened for this city...couldnt rely on the friggin leafs to do anything. In the grand scheme of things this is bigger than hockey anyways. You think americans dont care about the raptors...imagine how little they care about the leafs lol
  17. Ohio I still have no friggin clue how you guys used to navigate without a good GPS unit on your boat. Navionics just did an update and for the first time ever sturgeon bay and the areas to the north of pointe au baril channel are now charted...Not sure I am a big fan of it to be honest. Means more boat traffic for my area and more fishing pressure...oh well i guess. My brother back when we first got the place in 2008 was out with me in the tinner. There was a jug clear out in the middle of the channel, so we figured ok, thats either a rock right there in the middle, or you are supposed to hang to one side or the other of it, so lets go slow on the right side of the jug and see whats up...going slowly everything seemed fine until i saw a rock ahead of us...so my brother pops her in reverse and we back out and proceed to the left side of the marker...he takes off and boom...wrecks the prop and takes a chunk off of the cavitation plate on the skeg. Turns out, that marker was marking a rock indeed in the middle...but also there was a rock to the right that was unmarked. I still have no friggin clue how I havent hit anything yet with the big motor. Dont ask me how many times ive ran into rocks with the trolling motor though :S at least those props are plastic and can be replaced on the cheap! My Stainless Prop...not so much! When the water was low a few years back, my old man banged his prop right in the middle of the S turn...thats how low things were getting.
  18. can of worms indeed...myself, my father/family owned a quad that was at my uncles until he passed away last summer collectively own(ed) a 1982 suzuki kids quad for my nephew....still runs no problem a 1986 suzuki quad...still runs 1988 suzuki 15hp outboard....still runs and with a carb clean up and ethanol free gas will start first pull every time 1998 yamaha 130 outboard....still runs and will start first turn of the key usually from cold, only a headgasket has been changed, everything else is bone OEM stock including the original oil pump 2015 yamaha 150 outboard...never had an issue and have owned 1994 evinrude/johnson....RIP 2x 2005 skidoos....one full engine replacement after 3000km, continuous kill switch failure issues, gas guages never worked since new, electric start problems, overheating problems 2007 mercruiser 350....continuous electrical issues needless to say, I will never buy a non japanese anything outdoor power related again. Dont even get me started on domestic vehicles.
  19. i personally cannot remember such a wet cool spring in my entire life in Ontario. In Pointe Au Baril I can probably count the number of days that havent had rain since the beginning of April on one hand. Guys talking about weed growth, there is virtually none at all in Pointe Au Baril. Very small spots of weed growth in some areas, but areas that are traditionally choked out are barren. The high water has pushed it even further. Heck our water temps are still in the low 50's and its basically June. The panfish havent even come up shallow yet. Lake feels somewhat like a barren waste land with random spurts of good fishing, but then totally off days where the lake goes back into early spring mode. Heck I was catching incidental OOS smallies in 32 FOW last Thursday...Last time I checked thats a little deep for smallies to be spawning... oh...and the best part about the cold and wet...the blackflies, holy cow it is nexttttt level this year up in pointe au baril. Wearing a bug net I still have to take a moment at times to run away from what im doing so that I can regain my vision. My dog isnt a big fan of it either.
  20. lol last guy i called the MNR on that was blatantly fishing the fish sanctuary at severn falls had a polish eagle on his SUV and im polish...so forget the race Bull
  21. i second what nick said. Ive even been out with him fishing on 6 mile. My buddies have tried it multiple times since and the fishing has left a lot to be desired.
  22. ahahaha no seriously, its my fave method for fall walley when im using minnows as bait
  23. lots of folks still fish the gannon narrows
  24. people are still watching hockey? its open water season and the raptors are not disappointing like the leafs. My time is occupied.
