  1. they are indeed, sail typically always has better pricing on pretty much everything...however the problem with sail is that they are also very commonly sold out of the niche products and brands. Hence why both TJames and I both asked them to try and carry those high end bass brands that are so difficult to get in canada. Right now we are still forced to order through tackle warehouse because stocking numbers are always iffy here in canada. JPro has been the only place to consistently have stock but its also a drive to markham that id much rather not make.
  2. GS is good...im glad the raptors are hanging with them. Their D is keeping it close and giving them an opportunity to win every night. Hopefully the series goes long. Win or lose I am loving watching this happen and what its doing for the city. I still say it every game, "i cant believe this is finally happening during my life time" Now if only the leafs could do it too...man its a fun ride, and I think we have all already won watching them get this far.
  3. If you guys create an online shop with these dealer exclusive brands (like tacklewarehouse), you will have a monopoly and that market will be your bread and butter. Remember your market...online shopping, tech savy...trying to beat Canadian Tire is impossible, furthermore the OG legends that are trolling in a tinner are not going to shop with you guys, The bass guys dropping $30 a lure and buying $40+ a spool fluorocarbon are where the money is at...were all still shopping at tacklewarehouse because its the only place we can consistently get what we need! Go where the money and competitive edge is! Especially because I am sure the margins on cheap tackle are ridiculously competitive.
  4. well...going to have to tell the old man about this one because all of our jackets aside from in my boat are all from the 90's and i guarantee most of them are totally faded out.
  5. At least i am not alone. Ive been fishing an absolute ton lately 4-5 days a week and its so hit and miss its ridiculous. The fish are also very very clumped up, if you are lucky enough to be fishing during an "on day" you might think its an "off day" until you run into some fish and all of a sudden you are going to get 2 3 or even 5 fish on 5 casts. Its crazy.
  6. sorry guys i was confused, the conservation limit only applies on the "ontario fishing" days where no one needs a license to fish. My bad!
  7. I was wrong
  8. There will be more opportunities. im spending more time up here than ever. bite was pretty good on Friday, not so great again today as the water cooled off again. Pretty crazy seeing the water drop 3 degrees overnight and not warm up. We’re still stuck at 58 in the back bays and it’s june! Insanity
  9. Darn! i finally figured something out yesterday too. Got a mid 30’s northern. And a more consistent bite going switching some things up.
  10. Maybe more spread out because the Great Lakes are big, but there are absolute monsters around. Craziest one, have you seen the pike coming out of lake O right in Toronto?
  11. Gave the big white paddle tail a dunk this afternoon and success! Got my first half decent fish of the season. Thanks for the tip!
  12. Almost as rare as the furless beaver ?
  13. Holy crap, very very nice. I’m still struggling like heck to find active fish. I had one window one morning and since then I can’t seem to get much consistency going at all. Interesting comment about the jerkbait, maybe I need to give the swimbait more of a dunk. Well done!
  14. I’m here all week, could do Friday or a shorter Sunday too
  15. Hey guys, couple changes of plans up here in Pointe Au Baril. i want to fish all weekend but my partners all just bailed. anyone thinking they’d like to try for some pike and maybe some walleye and crappie this Friday or Saturday in pointe au baril shoot me a pm. I think by fishing day 4 I might be getting a bit lonely lol. to bring - your own transportation to PAB, food, gear and a pleasant attitude I’ll take care of the rest.
  16. Buy used from the states... the new helix 5’s and 7’s double as a flasher/graph for ice fishing with an actual “ice fishing mode” now with the update that came out last year. Best bang for your buck bar none. i personally run two helix 7’s at the console and a helix 9 at the bow of my boat and absolutely love them. Best imaging in the game.
  17. signed up as an affiliate, if anyone is placing orders use my link ? https://tackledepot.ca?ref:Nzg0Ni40NDQuNjUxMS5U
  18. I will definitely be sending you guys a list of stuff that I believe there would be a demand for. so far I’m impressed with the pricing on a lot of the baits and tackle. Directly in line with any competition, but here you get a discount plus save the gas money of driving to the store. I think they would struggle to be as competitive with the northern tinner trolling crowd’s wants and needs, but there is an absolutely huge opportunity to capitalize on the modern bass fisherman market. There’s only a few stores that carry stock of this stuff up here, and even then they definitely struggle to maintain consistent stock. That’s the ultimate challenge, trying not to run out of immensely popular baits like evergreen jackhammers and jackal rhythm waves etc. lots of places claim to sell this stuff, but anytime you go to a place like sail they are sold out. Thats what will float or sink this company, if the pricing is at least competitive and in line with what it should be, maintaining stock will make or break tackle depot. I’m excited that there is another player in the market, I think you guys might clean up big time if you can pull it off.
  19. I’m hoping a power outage is the only reason for him not posting this morning
  20. Ugh, Ohio please check in with us when you get a chance. Woke up to some absolutely terrible news from your neck of the woods.
  21. It’s the Walleye Fishing that people go there for. There is definitely big smallies that spawn in there that then seem to move back out when finished up. caught an absolutely monster there a couple weeks back. second biggest smallie of my life while trying to drop shot some walleye. She didn’t even leave the net or water, hook popped out and I dumped her right back in.
  22. Any plan to actually maintain as extensive of stock as TW? Understanding that you guys are just starting out. Just noticing that you currently have somewhat limited selection of JDM tackle
  23. Just got home from my own hockey game and flipped the game on...I can’t take listening to Hughson cream his pants about the bruins all game. him and his crony gloated for 6 minutes straight about the bruins and how great they are....yet they are losing 2-1at home.
