So being that I am boatless for a few weeks, and the long weekend is coming up. I am going to be one bored fisherperson. My wife has suggested going to BPS (and the other stores there). Neither of us have been. Is it worth a 3-4 hour drive one way to go check it out? Don't really need anything, and will be a LeBaron Saturday as we will be in Ottawa.

We have a pond/swamp here called stump lake. In the winter, many years ago, they went out and clear cutted the area. All that remains are millions of tree stumps (hence the name). The deepest section is 3 feet. we'll scoot around in a 12 foot glass boat powered by a 55 transom mount electric, bouncing off stumps like mad . The fish also hit like mad. Not something I would want to do everyday, but it sure does make for a fun evening of being a kid!!!

HEE HEE, that camo line sure is a good one. May just have to get some and match it up with my Carrot Stix to fish in November Power Pro all the way for me.

As a brand new hunter (as of last week) I have spent my entire afternoon on this. The first couple of deer would have been venison hamburger for sure (if there was a way of collecting the scraps). I'm now at a score average of 98. I'm ready for the second week of hunt camp. Just hope the deer are all lined up like the game and stay still, then I'm good to go!!!!

My grandparents used to have a boat and motor when I was a kid. I was always the one that put it away. Unplug the gas tank and shove it in the corner of the garage. In the spring, it was the opposite, put motor back on boat and plug in the tank. Never winterized and always worked. Johnson 6 horse. Even after 4 years of no use it fored up with one pull. Two strokes are great for not having to do much to winterize. That's one of the reasons why I bought an E-Tec!!!! I'm guessing that this would be a 2 stroke that you are looking.

It all depends on what you are after. Distance hiking, time of year, money, etc. I have 3 sleeping bags. A Marmot ultralight 2lb fill. I use this most for back country trips, even in the dead of winter. For cabin camping I have a woods 8 lbs synthetic. It is nice and heavy for sleeping. Too bulky and heavy for carrying though. I also have the werger 3 in one from costco. I use this up at the cottage because it is a square bottom and has lots of room to move. Tents the same thing. I have a light weight Mountain hardware summer tent with a moon roof. Awsome for summer trips. I designed and had Integral Designs make me a 3 layer gore tex tent for winter and mountaineering. I have a big coleman for car camping. That's just the start of my gear, I could go on for hours. What does it have to hold up too? How much is it foing to be used?

That sure is a nice bass. We have a triathlon going on here tomorrow, lots of athletes coming through the store, I was thinking this would be a picture of something else

You could have the intake blocked or a blocked hose. It could also be a weak pump. I had a 450 that I put in last fall and it barely trickled out. I now have a 750 in there and it is like a race horse.

I too took this into consideration. My new boat has a vinyl main floor and carpet decks. As soon as I get into my boat I am barefoot. It get's really hot and not as comfortable standing all day. The carpet gives a good cushion and keeps the singing heat off the feet.

Storage user space (casting deck, seating) comfort for the wife and other guests. handle of some tough water, but also easy for the small lakes towability will it fit in my boat sling durability two stroke accessories are an after thought. package deals are usualy "just" enough. space to move around I spend several months trying to figure out what I wanted. I have ordered one, but will still like the other as well. I spend a lot of time in my boat. It has to be comfortable for an eleven hour day on the water. Sitting up straight, no cramping of legs. room to move.

A lot of manufactures have this type of boat. Lowe, Polor Craft are two off the top of my head. I have a Lowe right now (in the classifides). They are awsome for the amount of deck space that you have. Makes for a great pitching and flipping boat. No walls to hit. As for the hull mine is a modified jon boat. I'm guessing that's what most of them will be.

You awake yet Matt? Gotta know who is second. We all know Big Jim is first and formost with this. By the way saw Jim the other day sporting a new truck, looks good. First comment my wife made was "hey you have that same reel", then I got a funny look. The kind of, "how much did it cost you look" . Not good when you have the same as the logo on the pro vehicle, easier to get away with when it just said Shimano.

Nice boat. I got up close and personal with one of those here, very dreamy. Very nice rig. I had to settle with the little cousin. Way to go. Bet you can't wait to get it wet!!!!

Don't forget to take your ruler. The salmon in the Frasier are HUGE. Aggressive as well. We would surf some holes while kayaking and they would literally jump into our laps. We didn't wear PFD's to float, we wore them to protect us from the fish.

I grew up on BOQ fish and I'm still here.

If you take 16 you go up to Edmonton, back down to Jasper then on to PG. If you take one it is a long haul between Medicine Hat and Calgary. But then you get to drive the Icefields Parkway back up to Jasper and over. You could also go up through the interior. If you are in a hurry stay north. If you have a chance drive the Icefields. The university out in Prince George is amazing by the way. For where it is, they did a really good job on it. Lot's of outdoorsy stuff to do.

Only effect it had on me is I waited till 7:30 to go out instead of 5:30. Hadn't had enough coffee to go out in the rain that early. I caught a bunch of fish. Nothing huge, some four pounders mostly two. All in all a great day on the water.

I've been from here to there so many times I do not need a map anymore. Yet I don't know of too many places to stop. There are a ton of lakes around Kenora right beside the road. Porky's (not what you are thinking) is a great restaurant up there as well. The bow river if you take the low road, Athabaska and Fraser if you take the high road (which is more likely). There is a water fall just outside of Robson Park that has good salmon in it. Valemont is another place to stop. Keep in mind if you fish in a National Park you will need a permit. Whatever you do, DO NOT STOP IN WAWA!!! You'll never leave so I've been told. Do get gas there though, as it is a long haul between stations especially on the way back. Good rule, never let you're tank get below half once you get up north. The prairies are spectacular at night. With the northern lights and storms you'll get great shows.
