Looking for lake O charter out of Bronte or Port Credit
johnnyb replied to Cudz's topic in General Discussion
A buddy of mine works for Salmon Express and they do it up right....not sure if they do anything less than parties of 6 though....I'll check with him and get back to you *edit* They will do 4, but it'll cost more. My recommendation is only on their abilities and track record....not their price And if you DO go...ask for Steve as mate...the guy is off the charts and will make sure you have a blast -
Fantastic!!!! Good going...too bad about the lost equipment...but wow what a fish!!

Awesome stuff....gotta love the overlooked lakes like that. Do you ever hit it thru the ice?

Had to drag this thread up because I had a shocking revelation on the weekend. My powerpro destroys suffix for casting distance and smoothness on the SPINNING reel. I've been using 2 baitcast and 2 spinning combos all summer, with one of each combo having pp and one having suffix. Suffix is 30#test, I believe pp is the same...or whatever's closest. Both new spools of line. I really can't tell any difference with the baitcaster....and with the spinning combos, I haven't done much casting with the pp combo. MOstly been dropshotting with it, and tossing worms with the suffix-spool. So......I switched spinning reels, and used the reel with pp to start tossing worms....and WOW what a difference! There's just no resistance as it comes off the spool, while the Suffix seems to be tightly wound, and really cuts down on distance. I grabbed the suffix combo and tied on an x-rap....fairly disappointing casting distance, I gotta say. I would consider chalking this up to a difference in the reels themselves....but the suffix is much noisier as it comes off the spool, and I can feel the lure's momentum being compromised. The powerpro practically falls off the reel, and now I have an insane worm combo Perhaps suffix is good for people having issue with extra loops and tangles.....but I usually pay close enough attention that this is not a problem for me. I really thought the lines were comparable in every other regard so far....but this pretty much seals the deal for me.....suffix is allowed on baitcasters....but not much point in buying it over powerpro unless it's on sale.

gorgeous bass...very nice strategy on using the sandwich to your advantage

Love that last pic of the 15hp Johnson.....sunset isn't bad either

Saw that one pop up on my phone over the weekend....insane fish. What's that thing gonna look like in November? Or...in November 5 years from now? Makes you wonder how many records are swimming around out there....

Great stuff Cliff...you seem to be getting out a lot lately...or posting more...very happy for you It's so awesome going on line movement alone when you set the hook, and come up against a solid fish....good job on switching up and learning the tactic

Unreal man....from now on....MORE MUSKIE PICS!!! WOWWWWWWW
-
Awesome report Rich....you guys did it up right. Is it possible that someone's been giving that musky some meth? Really nice bass btw....what was that soft swimbait you were using? Looks great
-
OUCH my neck!!! Nice fish man....definitely worth tilting the head for

Voted! Great cause....I've never heard of the camp until now....but it sounds like a good place....hope he wins them the $$

Gorgeous pics....gotta love the mirror-calm water....looks like quite the bass fishery and a fun day of family time in the boat

Best thing I bought to cut down on snags has been braided line. I don't mess around with fluoro leaders when I'm fishing for pike and bass...it's a reaction strike, not a finesse presentation....drop shotting excepted. Spend $15-$20 and get some 30lb test....8lb diameter....it'll rip all kinds of stuff out. Power Pro and Suffix 832 are both great. Heck...you might even bring in a few lures..my best recovery to date was a new williams spoon and a dipsy diver

Sounds like a good time

Yeah...the wife said I should've deleted it "I can see right up your nostrils....and it looks like you're trying to make out with the fish"
-
How did you even have time to put that report together? Amazing stuff...and congrats on the restaurant! From now on, we'll be happy with just the pics so you can squeeze out a few more minutes of free time between those incredible hikes and that insane sushi

I love'em....have eaten plenty. Toss up between them and smallmouth....I've had some nasty smallies....not too many unpleasant largies though. This year, I've been grilling most of them. Fillet gets seasoned with whatever (salt, lemon-pepper, sweet chili, oregano are just a few) and I plop it down on a hot grill...flip it once...it's done when it gets flaky. I thought it would be pretty dull with no grease or butter....but it's great.

Thanks for the kind words, folks It's just an older Honda 9.9....but we had a small engine guy up last year who did some tinkering...says it's sold around the world as high as 15hp depending on what the regs are...in my limited understanding, he "un-governed" it....I played with the trim and the boat pretty much sits level with no spray out to the side until the last bench, where I'm sitting.
