  4. Way to go, man!!! Keep it up....and keep braggin
  5. Yes, Bernie...it WAS Mac Mac! I'm just realizing that those cedar strips I kept washed, fueled and floating came from your place....didn't they?
  6. Nicely done, Paul....sometimes you have to take what you can get....and you're makin' the most of it
  7. WOW.....95" of Muskie in 15 minutes....craziness!!! Well done!
  8. Great way to spend the day...thanks for sharing it with us I spent one summer working at a lodge just east of the mouth....couple bays before the "white dot"...and have a lot of great fishing spots burned into my brain....great area that I hope to get back to soon
  9. Wow...that is a real sobering article. Anyone going near the water needs to understand that. Great post, HTHM
  10. Awesome fish! Not much better than spending a few days on the French
  11. Great report! Gotta love fishing with your dad....even when he does outfish ya!
  12. I found an easy and secure system for tying my canoe down. Ratchet straps around the top...they do the bulk of the work. For the front, I popped the hood and found two solid areas I can tie to. I've left some rope with loops tied in there permanently....when I need them, I just pull them out, and hook onto the loops. A little bucket handle is useful, so the loop doesn't bind. I do the same thing for the back...i just tie the loop around the hook that my liftgate latches onto. Rope stays on there all year round, doesn't get dirty or in the way....and when I need to tie down, there's no crawling around on the ground. Mind you...ever since I bought the trailer, I just tow the tinner around
  13. More crazy facial hair and great action from "the same lake as last year" Great fishery and you guys are really dialed into it....nice work!
  14. So...as long as I don't tell the truth on either side of the border, I'm good to go?
  15. That video is fantastic, Brandon! Beautiful little spot there at the falls....and a gorgeous public beach around the corner at 4 mile point
  16. Nicely done, Bfisher....way to make a day of it even though you had to work. I threw my bass fillets on the bbq this weekend....delicious! Pre-heat the grill and they won't stick or fall apart....wife loves it now because I use no oil or butter Silly girl
  17. Really nice walleye! Shallow lake with not a lot of structure....I'd be trying surface baits. With no structure, I find fish roam a lot....a noisy bait could get their attention and bring them in
  18. Bronte Outdoors just moved to Mississauga, at Hurontario and Dundas...plus there is Angling Specialties at Confederation and Central Pkwy
  19. Awesome report, Aaron...your passion really comes through in the writing. Is it just me, or do those creek smallies seem to fight harder and jump higher?
  20. Very nice! All the smallies in the 21" range that I've weighed have been in the bottome end of the 4lb range. One 21.5"er that had great girth was 4lbs13oz....but all others under 4.5 Great fish man, congrats!
  21. I wasn’t sure that I’d get a lot of bass fishing in this weekend….as I was on Gull Lake again, and I really like chasing the lakers. However, by the time Saturday morning rolled around, I was too tired to get the portable downrigger and rodholder mounted on the boat….and I only had a couple hours to myself anyway. I grabbed the leadcore just in case the bass didn’t co-operate, and headed to a nearby corner of the lake where I’ve caught a few bass over the years. Started out a little after 7am with a clown coloured Clackin’Rap, and promptly lost 2 decent fish. Didn’t feel like they were hooked that well….I suspect the wide gap treble was grabbing them in the side of the face. At this point, I figured I’d try something new….wacky rigging. You’d think I would have tried this by now….and I really wish I hadn’t waited so long! The fish just ate it up, and, using a wide gap worm hook, I hardly missed any hooksets. (Thanks for the confidence boost on hook choice, Garry2r's) By the time 9am rolled around, I had boated 8 largemouth, 1 smallmouth, and many many rockbass. And all I really did was work a couple hundred feet of shoreline! I was pretty pleased with myself, and definitely got the bass bug fired up again A few pics…. This guy wasn’t net worthy – I just wanted to get ONE in the boat on the clackin’Rap LOL That bulge in his belly turned out to be a 3.5” sunfish…now I’m kicking myself for not buying the larger LiveTarget pumpkinseed Love this shot of my little girl…who demanded to see some fish when I came back in The rest of Saturday was consumed with “Big Music Fest”…a fantastic concert in Bobcaygeon that Laker Jessy and I thoroughly enjoyed. I mention it, because some of you were likely there, and I saw THIS, which simply must be shared: Hope you all had a great opener….bring on the weekend!!!!
  22. I think you're right about the tournament....Dave Mercer and JP DeRose were fishing a Simcoe tournament together....so his facebook status said... At least you got out...got some fish...got back...and didn't blow a tire Good luck next weekend!
  23. Gorgeous scenery photos....and the fish are none to shabby!! Congrats on your success....and thanks for sharing
