  1. Wiring codes for DC are different from AC. White on my trailer is 12 - and the other colour is 12+. The other way to look at it, the center contact in the socket is 12+, the ouside is 12-. If you're lucky, you only toasted the fuses.
  2. Ha, what do ya think I am, a bird, no feathers ruffled here "Tim Allen"--MORE POWER.
  3. Are you most definitely sure it's a coil and not a bad plug. I had the same symptoms on an old chainsaw, ran for 1-2 minutes then died, let it cool, then it would go like a bat outa hades for another 2 minutes. Tried an old plug, problem solved.
  4. Ya, well pigs can fly too if you stick a rocket up their a... As for drilling, measure twice drill once. You may need to place a couple home made rubber shims between the fins and the cavitation plate, I've had them on both motors, and as long as you don't stand on them, they should hold up fine.
  5. #1. Where do you live, maybe a closeby member can render a bit of help. #2. I only carry the Cdn Tire repair kit as a last resort fix for on the road. Go to a good bearing shop like Canadian Bearingand get the following parts,#12165 oil/grease seal, it's the double seal model much preferred for be submersed in water, then you'll need 2 X L44649/L44610 bearing and race sets and a cap for a .1980 hub. You'll also have to remove the old races from inside the hub, not a hard job. During replacement of all parts, your work area shall be scrupulously clean so you don't get ANY dirt into the new parts. If you are unsure of what you're doing, have someone knowledgeable lend a hand, last thing you need is a flying tire taking out someone else at highway speed. When you go to the bearing shop take the old parts along to make sure to get the correct replacement. Good luck and don't go over crazy with the grease.
  6. Yes, the one that lists the vessel numbers, has the HIN(hull ident number) and basic owner info. I got one of the small waterproof plastic containers with photocopies of the vessel licence, boaters card, outdoors card, driver licence, it stays hidden in the boat, if I forget the wallet in the truck, at least I have something to show.
  7. Ohhhh yaaaa, those young ones that can't keep their clothes on and just have to try out the reproductory organs to see if they work...and then dump the surprising results on the working stiffs. You hatch 'em, you pay for 'em. I hatched mine and paid for them. Can't work on welfare..you better have 2 broken legs. For all that science and medicine has invented, they should come up with a one shot birth control pill thats good for 10 years, from 13-23...fore both genders. You want to "beg" for money, push the broom while you doing so..
  8. Processed beans/beer do not qualify...
  9. Ya, I think Wasaga should put up toll roads to screw all the bums that make a mess of the May 24 weekend. At least that would pay for the clean up. And then they should put up one way turnstiles on the 400/401 and keep all the riff raff in Toronto... How about an IQ test for prospective mayors/counsellors/lackies/etc. Maybe an IQ test for voters, they seem to vote in all the idiots of society to positions of authority.
  10. No doubt a good one, but, maybe we should lay some of the blame on the bleeding twits that keep feeding them the change, just like feeding the wildlife, DON'T, because they become reliant on society for handouts.
  11. Suuure thing, I've heard that if you eat a lot of beans you can stick a hose up your a... and re route it to the air intake and get 50% better mileage. I've got a turbo air thingy for you too.
  12. I don't know if this would work, how about using spider thread to wrap them to a small hook. Same stuff for making roebags.
  13. Ya, like to see those guys try to get a minnow on the hook, that ought to be interesting....
  14. I think your sis is just making you watch spankies in B&W.
  15. Flat calm for a couple of days last week, Sunday blowing like a beast, back to calm...fish...saw one nice rainbow caught, I had one on for about 3-4 seconds on a red/gold rapala flatlining. Heard another report of 12 raibow caught around 9 mile creek. One dinky little salmon caught on a Sutton spoon in about 5 FOW casting shallow for rainbow. That's it.
  16. We just transported a couple of Lowe 1462 models, 180 lbs each, I would think you are right about double the weight.
  17. The engine oil fill does not go through the dipstick hole, there's a fill cap there about the same size as used on lawnmowers. I replaced the impeller on a 7.5, not hard to do, it's the same as a 10HP, undo the bolts underneath the cavitation plate, pull the cotter pin out of the linkage for the shifter at the motor end, takes a bit of looking to find it. You should be able to pull the whole lower unit down. If I remember, there's 2 bolts that hold the impeller cover on. Cost was about $17.
  18. I'm suspecting by the motor colour,(blue leg) that it may be a 7.5 or 10HP?, then no, it doesn't have an oil filter. If it was my motor, I would seriously take a look at the upper seal by the water pump impeller and the seal behind the prop, thats another place for the water to get into the lower unit. Is it worth the hassle, like they say, you pay now for a couple of gaskets, or later for a set of gears. Your choice.
  19. A sad loss of a cherished sibling, my condolences to you and our family.
  20. I'l remember the whole bunch of "6's" for sure...ah and Lund, oh ya, great quality. no better than the rest.
  21. Not 100% sure but they list a 3.0 Litre at 44-4800 rpm, and it's an inline 4. Quite a few years back somone rplaced a Volvo Penta with one of Mercruiser series, I do believe it was a 2.2 ror 2.4 litre GM block.
  22. Jen, see the colour change on some of the pieces.. going to an orangy/brown..that's what it should look like all over. The little whitish blobs are just moisture that has to be evaporated. Once it gets to the right "doneness", you can try brushing a wee bit of real maple syrup on it. Looks tasty already.
  23. Nice catch, now for the smoker...
  24. Now, now, don't be insulting nature, weasels are a pretty sharp looking animal compared to that ....yuck
  25. ...and marked some lakers down to 150' eh, either you were doing a low level fly past or someones been dredging Kempenfelt Bay, deepest sounding on any map I've seen is 136 feet. dooda dooda...
