  1. No doubt a good one, but, maybe we should lay some of the blame on the bleeding twits that keep feeding them the change, just like feeding the wildlife, DON'T, because they become reliant on society for handouts.
  2. Suuure thing, I've heard that if you eat a lot of beans you can stick a hose up your a... and re route it to the air intake and get 50% better mileage. I've got a turbo air thingy for you too.
  3. I don't know if this would work, how about using spider thread to wrap them to a small hook. Same stuff for making roebags.
  4. Ya, like to see those guys try to get a minnow on the hook, that ought to be interesting....
  5. I think your sis is just making you watch spankies in B&W.
  6. Flat calm for a couple of days last week, Sunday blowing like a beast, back to calm...fish...saw one nice rainbow caught, I had one on for about 3-4 seconds on a red/gold rapala flatlining. Heard another report of 12 raibow caught around 9 mile creek. One dinky little salmon caught on a Sutton spoon in about 5 FOW casting shallow for rainbow. That's it.
  7. We just transported a couple of Lowe 1462 models, 180 lbs each, I would think you are right about double the weight.
  8. The engine oil fill does not go through the dipstick hole, there's a fill cap there about the same size as used on lawnmowers. I replaced the impeller on a 7.5, not hard to do, it's the same as a 10HP, undo the bolts underneath the cavitation plate, pull the cotter pin out of the linkage for the shifter at the motor end, takes a bit of looking to find it. You should be able to pull the whole lower unit down. If I remember, there's 2 bolts that hold the impeller cover on. Cost was about $17.
  9. I'm suspecting by the motor colour,(blue leg) that it may be a 7.5 or 10HP?, then no, it doesn't have an oil filter. If it was my motor, I would seriously take a look at the upper seal by the water pump impeller and the seal behind the prop, thats another place for the water to get into the lower unit. Is it worth the hassle, like they say, you pay now for a couple of gaskets, or later for a set of gears. Your choice.
  10. A sad loss of a cherished sibling, my condolences to you and our family.
  11. I'l remember the whole bunch of "6's" for sure...ah and Lund, oh ya, great quality. no better than the rest.
  12. Not 100% sure but they list a 3.0 Litre at 44-4800 rpm, and it's an inline 4. Quite a few years back somone rplaced a Volvo Penta with one of Mercruiser series, I do believe it was a 2.2 ror 2.4 litre GM block.
  13. Jen, see the colour change on some of the pieces.. going to an orangy/brown..that's what it should look like all over. The little whitish blobs are just moisture that has to be evaporated. Once it gets to the right "doneness", you can try brushing a wee bit of real maple syrup on it. Looks tasty already.
  14. Nice catch, now for the smoker...
  15. Now, now, don't be insulting nature, weasels are a pretty sharp looking animal compared to that ....yuck
  16. ...and marked some lakers down to 150' eh, either you were doing a low level fly past or someones been dredging Kempenfelt Bay, deepest sounding on any map I've seen is 136 feet. dooda dooda...
  17. CH 16 for emergency only, some areas use 68, 71,72 as the " chatter channels". Take a VHF operators course, it's worth the effort for those who have no background in using that type of comms.
  18. Good deals can usually be gauged by how much the battery weighs, the lighter batteries have less lead in them and although they fit the same size as all group 31 batteries, their service life will not be as long. Buying a good quality battery will cost a "bit" more than that. If you are happy with that deal and take good care of the battery, you can get a few more years out of them. Up to you. The only ones I don't believe in ar ethe "Spiral" wound or Optima type, far too much money for their output.
  19. Just something about Esso that annoys me, first the fire to make prices go up, then the power outage, what's next. I prefer the Amsoil Synthetic, no smoke, no plug fouling.
  20. General rule for engines of that vintage is 24:1 oil mix. As for the battery, get the largest by weight, (thickness of lead plates), group 31, Interstate, or Trojann Batteries.
  21. Faster, ..fasters not the word, first try I couldn't figure out what happened, click the mouse see a new page, like right now...excellent.
  22. Uh oh, better check the rules on daily catch and consumption... What you consume on the day caught counts towards that days catch, so NO you don't go back and forth ten times to feed your extended family. 2 whities per person per day.
  23. 80's to early 90's,then they went to silvery colour, still make them.
  24. Gut them, brine them and then smoke them. The skin is like leather, run a sharp tip knife just under the skin and peal it back, very good eating.
  25. Just be careful out there, just took a look at this, http://www.theweathernetwork.ca/weather/ci...es/CAON0259.htm, I think I'll try and keep breakfast inside, no feeding the fish..
