New Job, Big Fish and Getting Married! HELP
Fisherman replied to The Urban Fisherman's topic in General Discussion
Looks like a nice job and girl, however, a man should never give up his slush fund for anything other than what is was destined for in the first place. -
That's just about enough to make me head to Lake O instead of GBay. Very nice fish, interesting graph show.

Be aware that at some point you have to undo the shift linkage, either in the leg or at the head unit, depends on model/make. Also be sure to line up the water pipe and connector that brings the water from the impeller up to the cylinder head, that ca be a bit of a beach.

Within good reason and limits, I eat what I catch except for fish like musky, sheepshead, carp. If I'm going to spend time fishing, then eating some is part of the equation. I don't like going around poking holes in fish I'm not going to eat.

The difference in line diameter should have absolutely no difference on how fast it is retrieved and placed on the spool. Now a thinner diameter may not fill the spool as fast, but, it's still coming across the roller as fast as a thicker line.

I wouldn't waste my time reading those adds...

Beginning to wonder about these Carpers, they seem to have a fixation on "Prairie Oysters" for some reason. Tim Bits a.k.a. testi...bits...yech.

They are a very good battery in the LARGE ups at work, the only thing I don't know is what the useful cycle rate is, how many times they can be discharged before they fail.
-
MMMMMMmmmmmmmmmm...pigeon pie.

Yes I believe you are correct on this one, they also had 115- in line 6 cylinders, that ran on 3 at low speed. That function on his 6 was a major gremlin, some days it worked, others it was a total cluster*&*, got so bad he never went without a kicker to bring him back.

Personally I'd avoid Optima's like the plague, outragiously overpriced, provide less running time than deep cyle batteries at half the price from any other place. So what if you can mount the Optima battery upside down, haven't seen too many boat's buzzin around out there upside down lately.

At the weed store , any hardare store carries spools of it, got a neighbour with a weed wacker?, go scrounge 2 feet from him.

When you see that Legend wants $89 for a 12 volt outlet, $79 for 2 rod holders, etc as per their premium discounted package, they should arrested for robbery.

You think that's bad, I go to the trailer this weekend, reach under the propane tank cover to turn on the gas for the fridge and stove, jezus-h-c, commotion under there, something comes out and I'm duckin for cover, go back and look, there's a nest on top of the knob for the second tank, 7 little tiny orangy/brown eggs the size of peanuts....from a common house Wren. She better hope the other tank doesn't run out or the nest will do a 180 turn to open up the other tank. Didn't seem to bother her, she was zipping in and out, but noisy in the morning.

I bought this lantern at a yard sale.. is it safe?

There is a series of Coleman products that actually run on unleaded auto gas, they gave grey tanks, Called Dual Fuel models. You can get replacement parts at the Coleman Store on Matheson Rd in Mississausage, or go to www.warehouseoutlet.com, same place. -
That's what I was eluding to when I asked "how did you get the hub off, Houdini". Every hub I have ever taken off, you have to take off the outer bearing (normally just slides out) 'cause the bearing won't fit through the center of the race. So then the outer race must be totally desintegrated too.

640 AM, If you're blood pressure is a little low in the morning, those guys will always have some controversial subject to get you going. After 5 minutes, your blood pressure will be so high, you'll be casting a mile with that extra energy.

Okay, that pictures got me slightly baffled. From the left side, I see the axle seal, the inner bearing, I assume the inner race is still in the hub, then the remnants of part of what held the outer bearing together, then the exterior part of the bearing body sitting on top of the axle threads. Okay Houdini, how did you get that hub off? WD-40 is a waste of time,(WD= water displacing formula # 40) you need something like "rust buster or Release All". You may by the grace of luck and perseverence, heat the last part with a propane torch quick enough to loosen its grip on the axle by the threads, and slide it inwards,(use a piece of pipe slightly larger than the threaded portion. Then with a fine tooth "32tpi" hacksaw or a cut off wheel if you're real good, split the ring off. Hopefully the inner bearing should slide off along with the grease seal without too much fuss. Try to avoid at all costs damaging the stub part of the axle and threaded portion where the hub goes. Once you have everything off, then shine it up with a 0000 steel wool pad to get rid of the rust and crud. Apply a light coat of grease to prevent overnight rust while you get the hub ready. If you weren't all the way down in Mississasage, I'd come down. Good luck.

Well, I can only go by the past, I had an 84 7.5HP Honda (essentially the same as the 10HP), I ran my FF, lights, AM?FM and one electric downrigger from one battery, the only time it was charged out of the boat was at the start of the season and then in the garage during winter. The Honda kept it charged well enough that I never noticed any lack of power to run everyhting. I now use a '96 Honda 25 electric start, one battery(starting) to run AM/FM, VHF, lights when needed, F/F and the same electric downrigger. Honestly, never had a problem with lack of power.

If you can find a "small" 2 amp solar panel, let me kow too. A 15 watt panel puts out a measley .8 to 1 amp under the most ideal conditions and then you are paying over $100 for that, so $200 for a 2 amp mode, and then it takes about about 2 feet x 3 feet of space. IMHO, waste of time unless your boat sits out in the open under a keen eye due to the price.
-
The Honda has a charge port on the shifter side, covered by a rubber cap. You'll need to get the appropriate plug from a Honda dealer, attach about 5-6 feet of 12-14 ga. standed wire with alligator clips to charge the battery. Probably wouldn't hurt to have a 15 amp fuse in line with that.

Well if it's mainly intended for salmon/trout, maybe they should say, you poor unsuspecting will be extemely dissatisfied if you use it on "other" fish and your hard won perch fillets will taste like a skunks "O" ring.

First time I tried that last night and after this mornings screaming flameout, it reminded me I had to post this. I find some of the Frish Crisp products okay, regular and beer batter, the best, but, this had to be by far the worst fish coating I've ever tried. I hate to throw food out, but even after scraping off the outide, the insides of the perch still tasted like hell. I would rather dip them in fresh runny cowpaddies and deep fry than use that stuff again.

Everybody still snoring, who's watching the donuts?

You could try out Little Lk in Barrie, Duckworth St exit, there's a lot of smaller pike there.
