  1. I wouldn't swear on it, but I thought CTC carried the Amsoil, 75/80-90 lower unit oil.
  2. Ditto, No Brian, I didn't mean to lump all the 200HP + or- fishermen in the same boat, (it would have to be pretty big) , but, quite often you see the power hungry, look at me, have to make up for a small D, roar through the middle of the fishing pack types. You see it every year at the Perch Derby, and No Frank, driving the big boat should have zero influence whether or not a young person goes fishing or not. Not everyone can afford to make such purchases to keep up with the Jones or Adamos. The last bad encounter I had, about 2-3 years ago in Barrie around october, the two gabonies with the bass boats, from 0to60 in twenty feet, cause a massive wake to stop twenty feet further, whohaw and carry on like total idiots, ya, they were filming a show. And no, I don't own the lake or a cottage, I just try and do my best to respect those around there.
  3. To quote" one day tournys and small HP boat" I'm quite happy with my small HP boat and extremely happy the less I see of the idiots roaring up and down the lake cause the fish just might be biting at the other end of the lake. 200HP boats and lots of noise is NOT what fishing about
  4. Ya, we used to have a guy like him in the ice hut, set the hook, smash his knuckles and tip up on the roof of the hut. Good thing mono had a lot of stretch, some of those fish had some pretty elongated lips....
  5. Good thing that's just a cloud and not a tsunami. Some wicked lightening bolts flying around here at 4pm.
  6. Pretty open statement What did it do, break in two, stab you in the arse? Anything particular? I had a Cherrywood downrigger rod, had no issues at all with it, entry level rod, did what it was supposed to.
  7. On the trailer coupler, when you push the latch down, you will see a hole that you can put a padlock through, do it! Then depending what type of hitch you have on your car/truck, the 2" x 2" draw bar and ball has a 1/2" or 5/8" pin that goes through it, there are models available you can replace with a locking version. At least it will keep the slow crooks from stealing the trailer from you when your on the water or at home. Cehck eith at Princess Auto or CTC for the type of locks you need. At least if some unscroupulous cretin takes it, you can tell the insurance thugs you went and put forth the extra effort.
  8. Not so much launch etiquette, but a peace of mind item, don't forget to lock your coupler to the hitch head and lock the draw bar with ball to the receiver tube. There have been times when people come back from a days outing to find their trailer gone, along with the drawbar. That makes it a real problem dragging the boat down the road.
  9. What about the issue of replacing the floatation foam from the center seat. Like Wayne said about the center seat structural replacement, an aquaintance I know only removed part of the center seat and ended up having major stress cracks due to the extra flexing of the hull in that area. I wonder how much the total cost of the material is going to be. Good luck.
  10. I don't know why you have to prop the oven door open when every oven has a vent at the top, usually located in the middle of the left rear burner on the old ring type elements or at the rear for solid top ranges.
  11. Memory serves me right again, here you go: http://www.bwmarineproducts.com/sail_kit.htm
  12. 1, no comment other than I find it's usually a bunch of guys that can't speak the Queens english very well that give the movie its badness. 2. DST was brought about by the lazy sots that can't get up with the sun in the summertime and go to bed when it gets dark out. 3. You have a point there. 4. Yes, I am. 5. I just look forward to the cake. 6. I would call it obsessions and mental illness. 7. Time for the shotgun, can you clear the gate before I load, crank one up the tube and let 'er fly? 8. I would rephrase that to something what the Army(Gov't) is very good at... reorganizing...again 9. Yes. 10. Oh ya, or a bunch of saturday morning door knockers that need to do their annual PT test while I'm loading up Betsy.. 11. A lot of bosses should not confuse their careers with my life. 12. Yes. 13. Sometimes. 14. Or is terminally ill anyway. 15. True friends will be sitting beside you in jail when you get caught. 16. I don't know about that one, I'll just hold up the bar.
  13. Interesting article to say the least. My take on this, quit producing 300+HP cars and trucks and make the damm things go twice as far on a litre of gas instead. There isn't a highway anywhere around here that amount of power is required to keep a vehicle runnign at 110/120km/h, it can be easily done with half the power, it wasn't all so long ago, most vehicles were running no more than 150HP and could easily do 140+. But, as long as the ameri (Tim Allen) way of thinking is alive, it won't happen.
  14. I think that may be a good choice, I took a quick spin into Barrie Costco, 3 models with Honda motors, 2 stainless and a Lawnboy with a Honda motor. Not impressed at all with the stainless models, flipped one end up to look under, if that deck was any thinner I'd swear it used to be a sardine can stretched out. I could flex the deck metal by hand, no effort. Surprising that Honda let them put their motor on that. The Lawnboy model does not have the offset front wheels either. I'm getting mine from Sears.
  15. And here's the link to the new Service Canada site for pleasure boat licencing:http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/en/sc/boats/pleasurecraft.shtml
  16. Okay: "and if you ask nice l will tell you how to get rid of grubs with out pesticides. hehehehehehe",, please please please, how do you get rid of the grubs...without sending over the skunks and racoons to do the job?
  17. bowshep: Any particular brand of organic fertilizer you recommend?
  18. If you're interested, check the Sears.ca site, they have honda powered models on sale until June. 5.5 and 6.5 hp. I have one coming soon, rear bagger, rear drive.
  19. I think one of the utmost important thing that should be stressed when it comes to hunting is knowing what you're going to kill or shoot at. The last time I wanted to scout the Minising swamp, 6-7 years ago, the CO stopped me and asked if I knew where I was going, sure up to the iron bridge, bad move it's full of a particular ethnic group. One twig cracks and world war 3 erupts. If you don't see and look what your shooting at, then maybe you should wear ear plugs so you can't hear it either.
  20. Well the last time I saw one in operation was when my wife was pregnant, so guess what, get preg...naw never mind. They do work well, mom was in the hospital 6 months ago, blood clot behind the knee, sa it one the scope, the tech there was quite good with the transducer, explained thing quite well.
  21. I swear up and down I was having a deja vu on this topic and a bunch of us gave you some answers, pretty specific, soooooo, I did search and voila: http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.p...hl=lambert+park
  22. Oh ya, very good, no added growth hormones, antibiotics, or any of the other stuff they force feed store turkeys.
  23. I take offense to that comment, I could say that maybe you're **, but I didn't, I just thought the thought to myself. The unfortunate thing is you don't get the turkey tag without the course.
  24. And if it doesn't have a visible beard, then don't shoot at it, never mind even looking at it.
  25. Ya, not a bad seminar, and I liked the one statement, if it wasn't for the stupid ones out there, the MNR wouldn't have a job. Next trip to BPS, maybe go look for a call or two.
