  1. Friends don't let their friends buy Poop ATV's, if it's not broke down, it will be.
  2. Take a friend that knows sleds and their inner workings to help you inspect them. Some of the things to be aware of are motor seals, too worn they suck air and make it run lean and burn. Same for dirty carbs. Worn bearings, same. side to side movement, radial movement, same. Secondary clutch bearings, same. Track sliders for wear, becoming hard to find, even after market ones because of supply problems. Bogey bearings can still be found in stores that sell bearings. There's a start.
  3. From a very reliable source, parts are hard to get even for newer sleds of any brand, the cost of tracks has virtually doubled, other parts are almost impossible to get. Guys that have been ordering tracks from last spring to summer are still waiting. The shop he works in has requests from all across the country. when you go to buy, make sure it's not a basket case that needs a lot of work.
  4. Even 10X would be fantastic and the price much lower.
  5. If Australia can make this happen with sending production to you know where, they will have a pretty good business. https://graphenemg.com/energy-storage-solutions/aluminum-ion-battery/
  6. How about one where the eye of the hook comes out behind the head to keep it level.
  7. Well I can believe that by the ratio of EV's compared to ICE's. Then you have to take into account of what caused the fire in a gas vehicle, did an electrical problem cause it or was it an actual fire started from leaking fuel.
  8. Just wait until the first one lights up and you're miles from shore.
  9. I think you need another look at basic electronics. 12 volts with 240 AMP/hrs will get you just as far as 24 volts with 120 Amp/hrs. Either way you get 2880 watts of power.
  10. Yes that can be done, just undo one of the 2AWG wires between the batteries when doing that.
  11. Yes you can use 2AWG, that way both batteries get identical use. You can charge them in parallel this way with one charger.

    GPS

Any of the modest priced GPS from Garmin will do fine.
  13. Long story short. if you got that stuff on anything; it would turn it chalk white with-in minutes. Worked great keeping the flies away; but I made the mistake of wiping my hands (this crap burned) on the tan seat of my boat. After the sun hit it; it looked like it was tie-dyed; it pulled the colour right out of the seat. My wife used to have a bad habit of putting sunscreen on her arms and then get in the car, everything she touched or rubbed turned the black interior to smurf blue.
  14. Set the boat back and up on some wooden blocks like cribbing both sides at the back, start gently pulling the old trailer forward and about 2-3 feet from the bow add another support. When the new trailer arrives, just start cranking it onto the trailer. Been there done that with a 16 foot.
  15. Along with the cops not being interested, it's the judges and lawyers that keep the criminals out of jail to continue the process, arrest, in, and out, lawyers get paid.
  16. Back in the late '60's http://www.gogodiablo.com/wp-content/uploads/hus-ski-200-115-300x225.jpg
  17. Appear to be a bunch cheaper than the Snow dog.
  18. Solid standby reel, I too have my Dads from around 1960, with the spare smaller spool. Caught everything from panfish to salmon. I had it on a Berkley 7 foot lightning rod.
  19. Depending what kind of mechanism the couple has, most of the time it's the 3/4 inch nut under the coupler latch that needs tightening a little bit. The whole latch mechanism can be replaced on those. Another point, 10-12 % of total trailer weight including load should be the tongue weight, lack of that can pop the hitch off.
  20. If I'm not mistaken CAA has an option for that in the future. Why can't you get the trailer home on a "careful" drive and then get the wiring fixed. Pretty easy to do.
  21. For those that are getting their stuff together, you may want to stock up on the 1lb propane bottles before the price really goes nuts, CTC has a 3 pack for $20, limit of 2 per customer, some guys in the US are reporting the price is up to $17 for a 2 pack.
  22. Good eye but I'm hoping it's a paint seam. I wouldn't get too excited about the vertical one, maybe a bit of bondo splitting away.
  23. Black one, second from left used to murder walleye on Rice Lake.
