  1. What size motor? Anything under 10 HP I wouldn't, anything over that it can start to wreak hell with the shoulder.
  2. Owen Sound east side launch. However, I would take note of the wind forecast tomorrow. https://www.ventusky.com/?p=44.47;-79.85;7&l=wind-100m&t=20220724/0900
  3. Pickles, no, they're baby cucumbers. I'm sure a lot would misidentify pickeral.
  4. Honda doesn't make batteries, Yuasa does. You can go cheap and probably have to replace it again in 3-4 years or you buy a good one and get another 8-9 years. Royal Distributing has the OEM for a decent price. https://www.royaldistributing.com/yuasa-battery-ytx14-Bull.html Remember when you're in the middle of butt fart nowhere, you turn the key and hear in a weakening tone, No no no no, click, click, lol.
  5. Only if you change your address or other pertinent info listed on the paper. Otherwise you're good.
  6. I've found that the fish can go on a crazy feeding frenzy pre storm.
  7. My take on this, if your going to actively going to catch OOS or only catch and release, then all you're doing is puffing up our own ego.
  8. Bingo, I did, 2 boats. One on a 12' where unfortunately the battery tipped over and the 2 posts burned a couple 1 inch holes right through the hull. The other 14' was from the sharp edge of an anchor that was rubbing and bouncing around about a 2 inch "slot", almost 1/2 inch wide. You have to follow the directions to a "T", no using steel wool pads, sandpaper, not aluminum oxide and not iron or brass brushes. Only use the small stainless steel brushes you can get at PA. Wipe down with alcohol, no gas or paint thinner. Then heat on an angle with a propane torch, I used the MAPP gas cylinder, gets a little warmer. Don't try to melt the sticks with the torch, you have to "feed" them into the edges of the holes or cracks. The 12 foot was easy working upside down, the 14 foot I worked from the inside of the floor to build it back up. Never developed any cracks or leaks. Heck I even welded an old aluminum short 2 step ladder back together. It's amazing how strong that stuff is. If you can, practice on a couple pieces of aluminum and maybe a beer can.
  9. Well I guess you have to thank an engineer for that oversight.
  10. Must be a rubber device that allows the prop to rotate when hitting something.
  11. Well I would say this will make some negative advertising for Merc. I would rather row than ride in front of a Merc.
  12. Glad it worked out for you Spiel, it put an aroma in the house you just start drooling, lol.
  13. Being a 4 stroke it should still have enough oil lubing it. Burning the top of the piston, entirely possible. Unfortunately it's a Merc and we all know they make good anchors.
  14. 2 stroke, yes change the plugs.
  15. Found this on Walleye Central, I have problems believing it though. Good results for Four-Strokes should be 180-210 PSI, and Two-Strokes should be around 110-130 PSI.
  16. Either a pair of 3500lb axles, one pair with brakes or a 5200lb axle with brakes. If it was me I would go dual axle, they tend to float better over rough roads and don't bounce as much as a single.
  17. #1, what does the the boat, motors, batteries, gas and equipment weigh? From there you can safely look at a more robust axle, springs and tires. What weight are the old tires rated for? How old were they. There's lot of unanswered Q's.
  18. I got mine from Praxair in Barrie, but most of those places that carry compressed gasses like O2 acetylene, etc will have it.
  19. So that's how all those tarps get up in the trees, lol.
  20. An anti itch pen for after the incessant bites. If you're staying for more than 2-3 days in warmer weather, get a small block of dry ice and put it in the bottom of your cooler. It will keep everything very cold and lasts quite a long time.
  21. Ok, so what are we supposed to look at, the white pail, plastic bag, the black thing with a silver knob end or what?
  22. Ever look at the price of an oxtail, it would be cheaper to get a floosie to hop in the pot for ya.
  23. MEATHEAD seasoning eh, that's the crude moniker for army police, amongst a host of other words.
  24. What he said, especially on the Evinrude, parts may become a problem with no fix in the future. I would not put that one on my list.
  25. I can relate to this dilemma, about 25 years ago I used to go fish with an old codger, poor bugger bad bad close up vision, used to tie his hooks, make him climb out on the boulders at Thornbury to surf cast, etc, now I look back and say I must have been a mean bugger to make him do that.
