Cyprus Lake National Park. Camping, canoe rentals, Smallmouth and walleye in the lake. But if you don't have a reservation yet you might not get in. Its very popular due to the spectacular swimming and cliff jumping on georgian bay at the park.
As I only canoe fish in rivers shore is never far away
I am a big fan of the shore release though and use it whenever I'm close to shore to make it easier on the fish
If your going to fish musky from a canoe which I've done in the past(yesterday in fact) and will again in the future when you hook up pull immediately to shore for release and pics much easier on you and the fish.
Here's our best 48" from a canoe
I really enjoyed that report. Having been a co-parent myself with my son while he was growing up I know how tough that can be. Your really building up some good karma though. Your appear to be a selfless good guy. Keep it up.
Pike often get into ponds that are on a floodplain if this is the case then the rules change as noted above. The pond is spring fed but did someone create the pond by digging it out? If the pond was a natural formation again the rules change as noted above.
A common mistake for people who are use to spinning reels, who are trying a baitcaster is that on spinning reels the line falls of the spool, on baitcasters it has to unwind. The easy solution is to move your release point 90 degrees earlier instead of letting your cast go with the rod tip pointed at your target.
No, fishing laws do not apply to man made privately stocked lakes that are not connected to natural waterways. No license, no limits, no gear restrictions, no season.
