    As was mentioned an F1 is a first gen cross and it is now the only splake that is stocked. Ontario use to have a backcross program that was (F1 X Lake trout) so they had more lake trout characteristics. It was a waste of money for a lot of years.

    One thing I'm worried about is the low water I've seen everywhere combined with more weeds than I've ever seen If we get an early ice and it stays all winter. Could have some serious winterkill this year

    My experience as well spent three days for bupkiss . Took Irishfields advice and started going 15 minutes further north and have never looked back.
