A little help with posting a trip report
aplumma replied to pairofgreenhorns's topic in General Discussion
I will say Mike does post a great report along with a few other greats. The text part is easier to copy and paste in a report and then add the code for the photos and pictures. Some of the code gets hung up in the security filter that protects the site from bad people. We wish it was different but to keep us up and running we make that small sacrifice. I will say though if you do have issues with the code filters and can email a moderator the script we will forward it to IPB and see if they can recommend a change or patch to make it easier in the future. Thanks Art -
You could lend them your birth certificate Roy if they don't mind carrying around a stone tablet.lol Art

Might want to check into a disposable phone available here in the States and just leave a message on your phone with the temp number. More complicated would be to see if you can forward your phone to the new one. I usually leave a message on my phone saying I am unavailable and to email me or skye and use a tablet on WI FI to get messages. Art

I am sure you will always be on my list of people I am glad I was fortunate enough to meet in life Cliff. Now as far as turbo charging you can always go with an electric fan turbo with a secondary fixed jet in the throat of the carb. Controlled with a vacuum switch and a solenoid. Good luck me friend Art.

Lock down sequence initiated......we don't need insults and the whistling smiley face does NOT make it o.k. to talk smack to each other. Lets see if this can stay open for a little while longer now. Art

The trend for the bigger boats for big water is outboards. While the motor and drive trains are more expensive the engineeringcosts ,fuel saved and space saved are making them very attractive. We have a police boat that has (4) 300HP on its back to cut off access to Washington D.C. from the river talk about something that is wicked fast. Art

Yea we have the same here with snow shovels except we wait till it is snowing and then take our poor snow driving skills and run out to Home Depot. I am thinking we would be better off if we planned ahead and bought thermoses instead and stayed at home with a nice hot cup of coffee. Art

Well done and a nice lot of fish you have under your belt. Thanks for sharing. Art

This is the first time I have ever heard of a run on thermoses.lol Art

What's you favorite cold weather gloves...
aplumma replied to mike rousseau's topic in General Discussion
If you get the wrong tipped gloves they can make your fingers colder. The tipped gloves that have to big of a seam at the top will slow the blood flow because they constrict when you have your fingers touching. The fleece or ragwool ones are the way to go. Art -
Dan the green crud closes down the passages in the jets so the engine runs lean. The 2 stroke engines need the mixture to be correct for the oiling of the pistons. The 4 strokes running lean will cause the temperature to go way up. Think of it as an oxy-acetylene torch the higher the o2 is within the range of combustion the bluer or hotter the gases are burning. The fuel as it atomizes in the top end not only burns and explodes it also has a cooling effect. You are correct the longer the gas is stored the more deterioration or chemical changes it goes thru. The issue with gloves is they can only be as thick as what you can tolerate between your fingers. My gloves of choice have the finger tips cut off the ends and then have a flap like a mitten over the tips. The flap folds back easily and the gloves are good enough for the short times they are exposed for knots and other delicate jobs. While they are not water proof I could see them fitting in a pair of the bulky gripper gloves that waterman use. If you can't find a pair of the gloves send me a P.M. I will shoot you a pair in the mail. A second thought for the tiller is a motorcycle hand boot it is like a muff but it stays on the tiller and you slide your hand in and out of it. Art -
The blue works better in wet environments like you store the boat on the water. It also uses less of the product to protect but it evens out as being more expensive. Red will work fine in 99 % of the applications. Art

I have seen a few pins in the Classifieds that you might want to look at. I am sure if they are close enough to you they will allow you to hands on it before you buy them. Art

Sta bil marine is what I use in all of my engines to stabilize. The seafoam is what I use to clean the fuel systems. Seafoam does also stabilize but I haven't had a reason to try it for that aspect. A combination of both has keep my engine (20 plus) running without issues. Art

Nice set of fish you got there. It looks like the drums were itching for a fight. Art
