  1. No damage the solution can actually be reduced to 1/2 oz of bleach if it is just light mold or just starting. My carpet in my Ranger is grey and I have seen no bad effects. The other thing is mold takes a few days to start so even if you park it wet for a day or two a fan will make treatment not necessary. If I go out in the rain and cover the boat to travel home I usually loosen the back and put a blower in the back then everything dries with out undressing the boat. Art
  2. All the trucks have good and bad points so the truck should be the one you like. The big differences is how are you treated when there is an issue that is either under warranty or just out of warranty. I have owned all of the US brands as well as a Nissan truck and of these Nissan failed to warranty an issue that I felt they should have. I have been a Ford man because they have gone over and above what was needed on any issues I have had on my Fords. Going into debt for something should be weighted on whether or not you have the ability to easily handle the debt if something else in life goes wrong. I personally pay cash for my vehicle now because I set aside money every month for the next vehicle we need to replace. With time if you save the money before hand it is like getting thousands of dollars off in interest that you are not paying on the loan. Best of luck on your search Art.
  3. The fee for the fisherman may be because they stock??? the water? The area is a park and down here if you are not from the county then you have an entrance fee. The boat ramp fee is for everyone. I have no issues with fees as long as they are put back into the parks and rec funding. You can smoke on the river and open areas of the park just not where playing field and other function areas according to the sign. Art
  4. one ounce of bleach in 24 ounces of water mist till moist fan dry and brush. Art
  5. Very nice report thank you for taking the time Drew. The gar over deep water are usually rolling to get air. They are catchable but are not actively feeding. The use of cotton corded jigheads or other methods that do not hook the fish but tangle in their teeth need to be used with caution if you are releasing them. Removing all of the fibers is needed so they can feed correctly. Art
  6. A third thought is it will get hot in the sun. I removed a aluminum deck on the jetdrive and replaced it with wood and my feet are much happier. Art
  7. You can register a boat as an international watercraft by surrendering your title and having a permanently affixed ID number. You then have a register port of call and the back of the boat must be named and registered. If the craft is over ?45?ft it must be named on the bow both sides as well. This allows you to not have to register it in the state and have bow numbers displayed. You will avoid state taxes and specific state regulations that differ from The Coast Guards rules. You also can move from one States water to another for over 90 days without having to register it in the State you are visiting. Think wintering over in Florida. I have a 28ft boat with international registration because the Potomac River is adjudicated by 3 separate States within 10 miles of the waters I run in. Art
  8. If you decide to go with a guide here is one who really knows the water http://www.nipissingmuskies.com/ His name is Danny and he comes fully equipped with boat and gear and enough insight to keep you fishing by yourself all week. I hit the green cabbage with red/white copper spinner baits for all the pike and bass you want. Art
  9. Welcome to the board we are glad you here. We have quite a few people who can help you find the fish. Art
  10. nice job are you glad I left? lol Art
  11. Racing Jetskies in the 80-90's and we all had nicknames. My brother and I were known as the Daplumma boys and Joe became Daplumma and I became Aplumma due to what we do for a living. Art
  12. Glad to see you and Lew got out as you planned. With the sonar tuned up you should be able to see all the bait balls this fall you want. Thanks again for a wonderful stay the other week between all of those wacky Canadians who dropped by and you all making the time to make us feel welcome it was a great vacation. Art and Joe
  13. You always have given all that you had. The Karma of this board is second to none. Art
  14. I am running the hds7 with LSS1 gen one as well as a hds5 without LSS1. The down/side scan is helpful if you are in waters that are deeper than 20ft and not weed choked. The units generate great detail on the bottom but it is still up to you to decypher what it is tell you. The number one reason someone has an issue with how a depth finder is working is having the wrong settings or poor transducer placement. Art
  15. Thanks to all of our friends who made it worth the 13 hour drive up and then for a safe 13 hours back to Virginia. Another year into the books while the fishing was not the best the accommodations were first rate. The Host Regan and Goldie did not miss a chance to make all of us feel like old friends from our arrival to the hard and sad time when we left. I had a minor incident with my transducer and had to mount it on the back of the boat this would have been impossible job except for Regan lending a hand and a few tools to get me back on the water quickly. A guide named Dan (sorry I didn't catch your last name) was nice enough to share his knowledge on the water and pointed us in the direction in our search for tall green cabbage Thanks Dan! It was hit and miss for the pike but we managed enough to make it fun every day. For anyone who is looking for a nice friendly place to stay while they fish here is the link to where we were http://www.mashkinonjelodge.com Art
  16. Don't kid yourself Roy I will sending you to the fishing wastelands as many times as I can. lol See you all Sunday mid day I expect. Art
  17. Terry here is the unit I fly http://www.dji.com/product/phantom it has lights that help you see the direction and attitude it is flying easily. Check your settings to see if it has a setting for GPS lock and landing mode. The GPS lock will allow your unit to hover in the same place and altitude when you take your hands off the controls. The signal loss is when the unit will return to the original power up point and land. Here is a tip from your uncle Arttie do not energize it in the garage and then carry it outside and test this function. Cost 1 leg strut. 4 prop's lesson learned priceless. Art
  18. A bobber with a small hook loaded with a nightcrawler will keep the hook out of him and give him a visual to watch as his bobber dances. A few calming lessons might also be needed if he is wild with the casting. Art
  19. Thanks you for the report and the pic's Art
  20. Drone flying is easier than helicopters but a crash is still expensive. I have a couple of hundred hours on mine and while I am comfortable flying it to get smooth video that is coherent will take time and practice. one of the best practices is to set out 2 cones and do figure 8's once that is comfortable try doing it and keeping the camera centered on the cones. Good luck and good flying. Art
  21. So true my friend so true. BTW I can't clean fish but my brother is a wiz at it. I just drop him off on an island in the river with a knife and a cooler and when he is done I pick him back up. Usually on the same day too. Art
  22. I buy the sportsman license every year so we can fish for muskies. So far in 12 years I have skunked some of the greatest muskie fisherman on the board. I also buy it so my money will go towards making the fisheries better. I fish down here for many kinds of fish that range from the sunfish to the might blue catfish that can reach 80 lbs around here. Our exotic fish is the Snakehead and it is on the must kill list here but it is thankfully an excellent tasting fish. Art
  23. I have restore quite a few older motorcycles and pin holes in a gas tank are a common issue. This product is the one that actually works. http://www.caswellplating.com/restoration-aids/epoxy-gas-tank-sealer/dragons-blood-gas-tank-sealer.html The chemistry of gas makes most all external applied products at best, temporary at worst fails completely. The correct way to seal a tank is to etch the metal with a special cleaner and then to rotate the tank as the epoxy cures. There are videos on the process if you search for motorcycle tank sealing. 24. Welcome to the board we are glad to see you here Tony. Art
