  1. I would check also what support there is for parts and people who can work on them if you can't. It sounds like you want to go to some pretty out of the way places and while it should be durable it would stink if you had to get parts that are order in only. Art
  2. Coupons for coffee from your favorite vendor. Gas card from a local station. Warm waterproof gloves. A furry hat that makes you look ridiculous but you don't care because it is sooooo warm. These are just a few of my favorite things. Art
  3. common sense is dictated by changing conditions not inflexible statements. There are many cases where a tether is not needed or wanted. You can be trolling baits and you shut down the motor every time you get out of the seat? Running a no wake zone and standing to see wood or channel markers. Art
  4. Why Cap. I do believe there is a story here lol. Art
  5. That style is quite popular for larger boats that see big water. The inboard boats usually do not have lanyards to use but have keys and toggle switches for starting/stopping the motors. You can also find MOB alarms that clip on the vest if the boat is large enough to not be able to see kids/ adults that need the extra pair of eyes on them. Art
  6. I am guilty of not wearing mine always. I do put it on when it is cold or the conditions are rough in the bass Boat. Art
  7. That is great man. I am so glad to see it snow up there. It means it hit the ground before it got down here. Art
  8. I love the documentries that pose the question in a very serious way at the begining and finish with." While we have not been able to find a shred of evidence that supports this outlandish claim we still spend a lot of money proving nothing" (in your best Robin Leech Voice) I have had lots of things that go bump in the night adventures but they all had an explanation that someone else explained to me. The fun of it is whether or not you believe them. Art
  9. How did he miss the stinger hook? I feel your pain I had a Snakehead on that I just know would have been a record but he tossed me at the boat. I found out later that week a buddy of mine hooked a new state record two days later from the area I had the hook up. Art
  10. Everyone should know this one it is CLOWN. So since I guessed it what did I win ? Art
  11. Yeaaa everyone knows this has happened no where else but there..... Art
  12. Happy Thanksgiving to all and I am thankful for many things including my Friends up North. Art
  13. You know now that you got this really nice toy to play in the snow it will be a dry winter right. Very nice bud. Art
  14. Yes but can you see the dark blue one? Art
  15. We can get it to work again it would be around $7000.oo. I would even throw in a new color matching seat. Art
  16. That's outrageous I want to get a hold of the Plumber that gave him that discount on a toilet. Art
  17. Should we keep this one? "It's got two eyes don't it." " It will fit between two crackers" was my Uncle Bennies answer when fishing for perch. He really loved his perch. Art
  18. It would be best to run the engine till you have stabilizer in the fuel circuit. It will prevent varnish from forming and protect it as well from corrosion. Art
  19. I defy you to show me a photo of you with a bucket of water with leaves on the trees.lol Art
  20. The hardness of water is not corrosive in most cases. Hardness is an indication of Lime or minerals which are neutralizing the PH. The corrosion of the Tank can often be traced to grounding of the electrical system to the plumbing (dielectrolysis) and friction loss from water moving thru the pipes over time. The cutting off of the water supply and the draining of the system to prevent freeze damage is the best method of keeping you from having a surprise when you arrive. The plastic tanks in my opinion have other faults that make them no better than the metal ones. I have replaced them due to cracked fittings, leak in the diaphragm and pressure stress cracks in the assemble. Art
  21. Awesome fish Mike but really what possess you all to think 42 F is water to stand in brrrr. I used to Race Jetskies in that temp range but it was in a drysuit and we engineered the heated engine water to spray on our gloved hands to keep them from freezing to the grips. Art
  22. I track them in a lake and found they move out to secondary points and suspend. I find they mix in with crappie not so much as species mixing but environment. I slow troll micro jigs tipped with meal worms and will find pods of both feeding very lightly. They are between 5 and 15 feet deep in water as deep as 35ft which is the deepest spot in the lake. They will move very little both up and down to get to a bait and the strike window is small when it is this cold. We rarely get a complete ice over and never strong enough to ice fish down here so my seasons are not as severe and our time lines are different. Art
  23. We have the snakehead in one of the local rivers I fish and I have caught and eaten a few of them. They are a firm fleshed fish that is light and white in color. The truth is it does resemble chicken I am not ruling out he was being flippied but it is a fair description of the flesh. I also agree that we don't need the fish in any waters that it hasn't already contaminated because it is a dominating species. Art
  24. I had chicken salad and soup for dinner and a big ole slice of pie would be excellent. Art
  25. Good for you when are you sending the second one to me? Art
