  1. LOL, I fished 2 - 3 tournaments at Lake Chautauqua in New York state before I even caught a bass, don't be shy, it can happen to anyone.
  2. Great pics and cool that you are on the road to recovery! It's been around 11 years since I got a line wet! I started pitching the rod and reel on the grass along with the practice lure, I knew it was time to stop! LOL
  3. I used Berkley Vanish, but with an improved clinch knot, wet before you tighten the knot? One of my former fishing partners was also a tournament crappie fisherman, then I started taking him Lake Erie smallie fishing. He used 4 and 6 # test for crappie, I never saw someone lose so many smallies due to the line breaking, and it wasn't Vanish he was using. Them zebra mussel will play heck with your line, I never went lighter than 8# test, and usually 10# test, a little nick is all it takes to lose a fish?
  4. Very limited experience with braid, I used a mono backing with a similar diameter to take up some of the excess line capacity. If it should break or get worn - frayed in a spot? Why have to replace more line than you will probably ever use?
  5. https://canlyme.com/lyme-prevention/risk-areas/ https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/diseases/lyme-disease/surveillance-lyme-disease.html https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/diseases/lyme-disease/removing-submitting-ticks-testing.html It looks like people can submit ticks for testing, sounds like a good plan to me to identify high risk areas of disease.
  6. The way it's been raining here? If I wait a bit the fish might come to me, now if I could hold a rod without dropping it! LOL I might need to find waders for my dog!
  7. http://www.more.com/lifestyle/exercise-health/12-surprising-uses-vicks-vaporub A little 151 proof rum and they may get drunk and fall off?
  8. When I first got sick years ago a couple of things the tested me for early were Lyme Disease and West Nile virus, because I live in a rural area and was outdoors a lot and frequently around animals. I saw a tick once when I took my dog to the vet for his shot updates, it was crawling across the floor, but didn't make it far, squish! http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/powassan-virus-prompts-officials-to-expand-tick-monitoring-1.3036326 http://www.ctvnews.ca/health/experts-warn-of-lesser-known-tick-disease-powassan-virus-1.3397738 Stuff sounds like bad news! and keep an eye on your kids?
  9. http://www.cleveland19.com/story/35321150/new-tick-borne-virus-worse-than-lyme-may-be-spreading https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ixodes_scapularis Our winter was very mild, so bugs will probably be more of a problem here, not sure if this will affect you, but you might need to check for ticks on you or your pets more often?
  10. I was only of the French River once for part of a day, visiting friends that were staying at the Lunge Lodge. That area has a lot of rocks in the water too, I wouldn't be speeding around unless I was sure of my path.
  11. Flood warnings in effect for parts of Ohio, and rain in the forecasts for 10 of the next 15 days, feast or famine? Looks like another late start to spring planting season for the farmers here.
  12. LOL, I don't need fish! just fishing would be good! I am aware of my limits though, so that is out. Nothing like releasing some fish and having a spam sandwich to celebrate!
  13. https://www.amazon.com/Gardeneer-Dalen-Natural-Scarecrow-Horned/dp/B00002N8HZ This might work, a lot of places I picked up and delivered to had inside docks or partially covered docks for trucks, some had them to keep pigeons and other birds from taking them over.
  14. Get out and catch some for me! LOL
  15. Cool! Now I am wondering if the duck eggs in my field hatched yet?
  16. " What's your guys thoughts on fishing in the rain? " Rain is predicted here for 12 of the next 15 days, why let that stop you from fishing? The fish are wet, their meals are too? Had some very good days bass fishing in the rain after a longish dry spell, and even a week of rain didn't stop the Walleyes from biting at PAB? Rain will keep some at home, a good time to go!
  17. Living here in the tropics, I am beginning to think they never leave, or go far?
  18. https://www.basscat.com/boats/page/8/pantera-ii# http://www.rangerboats.com/models.cfm?gid=29&mid=7423 ? Both look like good boats.
  19. I could be wrong, but I assume the spark plugs screw into the cylinder head? It probably has a water jacket surrounding it too.
  20. Probably not much help given my location, but I put it on mine too. Maybe reddit?
  21. If you have a facebook page put the link on it? I do it with police looking for people here, if it has a picture like that one it helps.
  22. https://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/buyers-guides_air-compressors This may help?
  23. I'm going with Art, for an air impact gun you want something bigger for a air compressor, air and the ability to deliver enough of it under steady pressure supplies the power. See the recommendations for a unit that size here. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-8-Gal-Portable-Oil-Free-Electric-Air-Compressor-0300813A/206470729
  24. http://www.canadiannightcrawlers.com/ Buy Canadian!
  25. A brown paper bag, for me and my date.
