  1. It's nice to see them making an effort! but the greater Toronto area has 6.4 million people, which works out to 1 fish per 64 people? and that is providing they all survive? Knowing little or nothing about that area, except I had a fun evening on Yonge Street once, are there suitable spawning areas for them in the harbor? Just from my own experience? The greatest boost to the Walleye population on Lake Erie here was our state stopping the commercial netting of Walleye. If they manage to establish a resident population? Will commercial netting of them in that area be allowed? Lake Ontario has some pretty serious competition for the food supply for them? Northern Pike, Salmon, Trout, whatever Muskies might be roaming around? Hope it all goes well, it may take a lot of time?
  2. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tilapia They fish farm and stock them in places here in the USA, but nothing in comparison to the quantities eaten.
  3. LOL, looks like he tried to ram a boat! At one area of Lake Erie I fished a number of good sized smallies had one eye where the color seemed to have run together, no visible damage to the eye area, but I am guessing they were blind in that eye, it didn't affect their ability to find a lure!
  4. http://www.news5cleveland.com/news/local-news/oh-lorain/dead-fish-wash-up-on-the-shores-of-lake-erie-a-case-experts-havent-seen-in-more-than-a-decade http://www.cleveland19.com/story/35822028/what-is-vhs-and-why-is-it-killing-fish-in-lake-erie The initial story had pictures of dead fish floating, and was made with a cell phone from a distance, you really couldn't tell from the pictures what species they were. I had some concerns that they were smallies! Even a sheephead die off is not good though!
  5. As I recall Brian, they used to make a 6 inch version, I had high hopes for a big smallie! LOL The 3-4 inch worked well though.
  6. I haven't seen any source that I would consider 100% reliable, our local news channels get it right more often than not, as does this site. https://weather.com/weather/tenday/l/44253
  7. https://nas.er.usgs.gov/queries/greatlakes/FactSheet.aspx?SpeciesID=713&Potential=N&Type=0 Goby info. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Jewel_Bait_Sculpin/descpage-JS.html Goby lure, on a dropshot or jighead!
  8. No clue, but this link might give you some help with what is available? https://www.amazon.com/Nets-Telescoping-Accessories/s?ie=UTF8&page=1&rh=n%3A3409171%2Cp_n_feature_keywords_browse-bin%3A2776595011
  9. A huge sale on Walleye here at the grocery store! Only 14.99 a pound! LOL I can get 2 t-bones for that! Sometimes 3 when they are on sale.
  10. LOL, we got our tree seedling order in April, my son planted them and hasn't had to water them yet! The nesting duck in the middle of our normally dry field was a sign?
  11. No thanks necessary for me, it was home away from home for me for 25 years. Just a great place with great people, the only destination that held a real interest for me.
  12. 25 miles inland from the lake, the farmer behind me just got his field planted around 2 weeks ago, they are almost a month behind? A good year and the tilling and planting is done by mid may.
  13. We had a very wet summer 5 or so years back Brian, it may have set a record here, this one may be close, with plenty of time to go? An inch of rain used to be a big deal here, now we seem to get 2-3-4 inches at a time. I can only imagine what some of our fishing spots look like!
  14. No rain today! but it's in the forecast for Monday thru Friday! LOL
  15. A great country and people, never had a bad visit there!
  16. " I am 62 going on 82 " If it makes you feel any better? I have at least 15 or 20 years on you! How many of you, er kids, can injure yourself attempting to make a bathroom visit? One got me a trip to the ER for my left arm, and the toilet bowl got my ribs once, I'm Paul, I fall! LOL, my golden years aren't living up to the original billing! The ribs? tough call, I passed on the ER for that one too, but I didn't have a cough at the time, my son just brought me that home from work a couple of weeks ago. Wait until you have neighbor ladies 20 years your senior rescue you from your front yard, then you will really feel old! LOL Take care of yourself, kid!
  17. Pigeon, aka city chicken.
  18. Welcome! never been to either, but what do you want to fish for?
  19. I hope your weekend gets off to a drier start than ours! http://www.cleveland19.com/story/35792812/walmart-on-brookpark-road-in-cleveland-closed-after-flooding http://www.cleveland19.com/clip/13457459/i-480-back-open-after-flooding http://fox8.com/2017/06/30/share-you-photos-storms-rolling-into-northeast-ohio/
  20. Never been there, but this one on Lake Erie in Pa is pretty much a bass factory. https://www.fisherie.com/Presque-Isle-Cascade-Creek-Map That one may be the same?
  21. It might have been the bass pictures? but my dog howled to the music!
  22. Isn't the Pickerel river a good distance north of Barrie? Looking for a camp or campground?
