My brother drove across the Prairies years ago and said it was so flat you could see the sunrise & sunset at the same time

Almost 60 hours in the past 3 weeks, but we finally took the stink

Not a myth Wayne, the bigguns are in there for sure, you just have to keep digging for them. One of these days you'll get your reward and it'll all be worthwhile. -

Maybe time to set up a new trolling plan for next year Wayne, lotsa fun being out there in the fall but 96 hours of solid fishing and only one small fish for your efforts sounds like your fishing some pretty unproductive waters. -

I think the worst part of all is the fact that some of you people still voted this disgraceful party back into power for yet another thieving term. At least I can sleep well at night knowing that I did my part to try and get rid of them. It amazes me how so many voted them back into power yet all we hear is people complaining about how terrible they are. -

Nice to see charges laid but more than likely they'll just receive the same slap on the wrist that Duffy will probably get. -
Yeah, right.

She's had a buffed out hose carrying man for close to 50 years Brian, 'cept now there's just quite as much of me

I've lost 40 pounds in the last year simply by cutting out most sweets and not eating nearly as much bread as I used to. I've always been a walker but now I try and do 3 miles every day where before it was only a couple times a week. We're on a dirt road 1.5 miles from the hiway with almost no traffic so it's a great place to walk. It's tough walking in the winter though as it's usually very slippery but there's a gym in Youngs Point just a couple miles south of here so we'll be going there thru the slippery months. And I can absolutely guarantee I'll never be over weight again.

We were fishing for muskies on the Upper Niagara at Fort Erie on the last day of the season a few years back. After we were done for the day I headed along the QEW and for whatever reason...still haven't figured out why...but ended up on the road to the Peace Bridge and the USofA and sure didn't want to go there. Just before the bridge I made an illegal left turn and came back to Canada Customs. He asked how long I'd been in the States and I then explained how I actually never left Canada. He said "your not allowed to make a left turn there" and I said "yeah I know that but thought you'll be easier to deal with then US customs seeing as I don't have a passport". He gave me a goofy look and sorta laughed and said it was just crazy enough to believe but said I had to go to secondary to be checked. Three guards came out and took my truck apart and kept asking about my fishing gear even though I told them the same story. Eventually they turned me loose and told to drive through the gate and pay $3. Never left my country but still had to cough up $3 to get back in

Thanks for the clarification Woodsman, I also thought medals of relatives could be worn on the right. Always a good day when we learn something new.

The Weather Network shows NO daytime temps below freezing for the next 14 days for the Eastern Kawarthas and only slightly below freezing for a few of the nights.
-
Last year was also warm & green so perhaps this is becoming the new norm.
-
Seems most fishing show these days are nothing more than infomercials and the reason I never watch any of them anymore.
-
Sorry to hear that TJ, Musky was a nice dog. Making that final decision is always a tough thing to do and you've got my condolances bud.

Anywhere for "light wheeling" in Durham or Kawarthas?

They used to have trails for dirtbikes in the Ganaraska Forest off the 115 at Kirby but no idea if they still allow it or even let trucks in or not. I used to do some mountain biking in there but that was 20 years ago. Maybe worth a phone call. -
Outstanding pictures !! Good time to leave the tinny in the garage though.

I could sit in a lot of traffic jams for $1500, that's absolutely insane and just another reason I'll never drive on that road.

Exactly Joe, or at least a set-up for hands free phones.

Wasn't blaming you at all Dave...obviously...just saying it's not right to make it illegal for some folks but not for others. Same as I disagree with having to move over a lane on the highway or slow down when approaching an emergency vehicle stopped on the side of the road, but when poor old Joe Schmuck is trying to change a flat tire cars can legally blow right past him. Anyways, just my thoughts for a Friday morning. LOL
-
I totally disagree with that too Dave, guys driving emergency vehicles can be even more distracted than most drivers just because of the nature of driving to an emergency. Add in the guy yakking on a mike or phone or whatever and things get very dangerous.

Never been on the 407 and never will. No way I'm gonna pay to drive on a road I already payed to build.
