The Mrs. and I are heading up to Yonges Point, north of Peterboro in an hour, sure hope the snow conditions are better there than Haliburton & surrounding areas.
Parka, boots, bags of salt & shovel are already packed though......just in case
Good to hear life is treating you well down there Steve & Merry Christmas to you & yours.
You should stop by OFC more often though, you've become quite the stranger around here the last coupla years.
Every year when the ice starts to form there's a discussion on this board about folks pushing their luck and heading onto the ice too early and somebody going thru & drowning.....EVERY year.
Jediangler is a good guy and I doubt he was trying to stir anybodies pot, it's just that folks are now going to be heading onto the Kawartha ice for the 1st time, in unfamiliar territory, and as mentioned by Raf, there's ALOT of current in some of the areas that will keep the ice thin while it looks good on top.
New water.....new dangers
What about Canadian Coastguard standards, does your Crestliner meet them as that's probably what you should be more concerned with ?? My last boat was a Crestliner and the USCG rated it for a 90 HP while CCG only rated it for 50 HP so their sometimes quite different on their acceptible standards.
I agree with JohnF, that if they did infact sell you a boat that didn't meet the standards, and your gonna have to give up much needed space to bring it up to par, then perhaps you ARE entitled so some sorta rebate or refund
It's 3:00 AM and snowing here in East York now and windy too, but I think were only sposed to get a few inches here in town.
1st snow we've seen this year down here.
Kinger, we catch as many muskies at night as in the daytime, but it's a heck of alot more fun, specially when they hit right at boatside, as they often do, and you can't see them coming like you can in the daylight.
I've always been 110% pro-cop, but crap like this is nothing more than an abuse of power and the reason soooooooo many folks have total disrespect for the police.
Their sposed to be "Serving & Protecting".......not harrassing good folks who are trying to do the right thing by enjoying a few brews and then using a DD
Always nice to see those old motors restored to their former glory Bernie and it'd be great to see it again when your done.
Lotsa fond memories of the old Seahorses
