  1. Incredible detail Chris !!
  2. Alternated between day & night shifts for 33 years but have been enjoying the good life for close to a decade now, but still enjoy the early morning part of the day the best.
  3. Friday for me too
  4. Nope, infact I don't think they ever tried to figure it out themselves, they just kept putting a whole new unit in. Happened about 4 different times where I'd put on the turn signal and the 4 way flashers would come on. After the 4th time and the expiration of the warranty, with no explanation of the problem or even an apology for all my wasted time sitting in the waiting room, I got rid of it. Too bad actually cause I really liked the Dakota, but the Chrysler service sucked and I had no intention of having to start paying for parts & service when they couldn't be bothered fixing the propblem right in the 1st place. Other than that though, it was a good vehicle.
  5. I remember the days when a 440 was considered a big powerful machine, now guys are saying a 700 is too small Progress I spose.........
  6. Congrats on the new truck, you should be happy with it. I bought a new Dakota in 2001 and drove it for 3 years and really enjoyed it other than the fact that the turns signals kept going on the fritz, but that was covered under warranty. Best of luck with the new ride.
  7. Or you could just phone them and get all the info you need........905-761-4000
  8. Sorry bout that
  9. Don't feel left out, the Leafs have been negative since '67 too
  10. That's all I've ever called it Phil, I thought clicker was the official, technical term
  11. Chemong is actually the one I deal with now whenever I'm at the lake Norm, but those P/Boro folks are all cut from the same cloth
  12. Some honest folks in that neck of the woods Jack and I'm looking forward to dealing with them on a regular basis very soon.
  13. Smore trivia...... I wonder how many OFNers, apart from me, have actually seen the Toronto Maple Leafs win the Stanley Cup
  14. Good on your niece HTHM, the world needs more people like her. Glad to hear she got home safely.
  15. Good to see you getting the pattern figured out Jer, you've been working hard at it.
  16. Same thing happened to me on a '65 Pontiac but as you say Wayne, not a big deal, just slip it into neutral and turn off the key. Unfortunately though, alot of folks panic when something unforseen happens, specially at hi-speed and before they figure out the problem it's far too late.
  17. I owned a 61 Corvair back in the day and it was great little car and a lotta fun to drive, infact with the rear mounted engine and good snow tires it was one of the best winter cars I've ever had. Only problem I ever had was the serpentine belt that snaked around the top of the engine, then down the rear over the pullies and back to the top again. Busted 2 of them in a year.
  18. I agree johnny and I'm sure most of us have nodded off at work the odd time. Not like he purposely decided to catch 40 winks in front of the whole world.
  19. Nope, not in the least, infact I towed the boat over 2500 miles last year and never once had to re-tighten the straps.
  20. Those tie-downs were factory installed on the trailer Roy and are excellent. Their extremely sturdy and take about 2 seconds to secure the boat. Just pull them out, hook them over transom boat hook and a couple clicks of the ratchet and your good to go. To release them, just hit the button and their free. I'd highly recommend them although I don't know about the quality of the aftermarket.
  21. Looks like a pretty slick set-up Glen and as usual. you did a great job on the installation. My Skeeter came from the factory with a similar set-up, 'cept for this ladder you simply pull out a spring loaded pin on the side and the ladder drops straight down into the water. It's mounted directly onto the bolts on the side of the motor bracket and you can see it just to the right of the motor. Fortunately I haven't needed it yet but like yours, it's nice to know it's hanging back there if the time ever comes.
  22. I'm with you on that one singindog, in all my years of fishing I've only ever broken 2 rods and that was when a motor fell over on them in the back of a pickup. I too wonder what some folks are doing to break so many rods
  23. It's funny how we all look at things differently Mike, I sold all my St. Croix musky rods and replaced them all with Compre's As for the Fenwicks, one thing I've noticed on this board over the years is the high numbers of guys who complain about them breaking easily, infact it seems like they break far more often than any other brand.........at least that's the way I've always seen it anyways.
  24. On my Hotmap for the West Arm there's a couple channel markers on the chart that are the wrong color, in that the chart shows the markers as green when infact their actually red and if your coming thru at night or in heavy fog and follow the Hotmap chart you'll be hi & dry on those nice little granite islands just outside the channel
  25. I'm starting to feel REALLY old, cause I still remember when I was a kid in the 50's and everything was delivered right to your door, bread, milk, ice for the ice box and coal for the furnace, and it was delivered by HORSE & WAGON ... and that was in Toronto. Even the sheenyman came by horse & wagon to pick up your junk....for FREE Us kids were friends with all the drivers and they'd let us ride the horses down the street while they made their rounds. Today if a driver took the kids for a ride in his truck he's prolly get sued I guess we were the rich folks on the block cause Dad made a whopping $25 a WEEK so we could actually afford a black & white TV........with a huge 6" screen As for the new electronic world, I feel like I've been left behind because I don't even know what 1/2 the gadgets are that folks talk about anymore....what the heck is a Napster ??
