Sorry bout that

Don't feel left out, the Leafs have been negative since '67 too
-
That's all I've ever called it Phil, I thought clicker was the official, technical term
-
Chemong is actually the one I deal with now whenever I'm at the lake Norm, but those P/Boro folks are all cut from the same cloth
-
Some honest folks in that neck of the woods Jack and I'm looking forward to dealing with them on a regular basis very soon.
-
Smore trivia...... I wonder how many OFNers, apart from me, have actually seen the Toronto Maple Leafs win the Stanley Cup

Good on your niece HTHM, the world needs more people like her. Glad to hear she got home safely.

Good to see you getting the pattern figured out Jer, you've been working hard at it.

Toyota Recalling 2.3 Million Cars and Trucks
lew replied to craigdritchie's topic in General Discussion
Same thing happened to me on a '65 Pontiac but as you say Wayne, not a big deal, just slip it into neutral and turn off the key. Unfortunately though, alot of folks panic when something unforseen happens, specially at hi-speed and before they figure out the problem it's far too late. -
Toyota Recalling 2.3 Million Cars and Trucks

I owned a 61 Corvair back in the day and it was great little car and a lotta fun to drive, infact with the rear mounted engine and good snow tires it was one of the best winter cars I've ever had. Only problem I ever had was the serpentine belt that snaked around the top of the engine, then down the rear over the pullies and back to the top again. Busted 2 of them in a year. -
I agree johnny and I'm sure most of us have nodded off at work the odd time. Not like he purposely decided to catch 40 winks in front of the whole world.
-
Nope, not in the least, infact I towed the boat over 2500 miles last year and never once had to re-tighten the straps.
-
Those tie-downs were factory installed on the trailer Roy and are excellent. Their extremely sturdy and take about 2 seconds to secure the boat. Just pull them out, hook them over transom boat hook and a couple clicks of the ratchet and your good to go. To release them, just hit the button and their free. I'd highly recommend them although I don't know about the quality of the aftermarket.

Looks like a pretty slick set-up Glen and as usual. you did a great job on the installation. My Skeeter came from the factory with a similar set-up, 'cept for this ladder you simply pull out a spring loaded pin on the side and the ladder drops straight down into the water. It's mounted directly onto the bolts on the side of the motor bracket and you can see it just to the right of the motor. Fortunately I haven't needed it yet but like yours, it's nice to know it's hanging back there if the time ever comes.

I'm with you on that one singindog, in all my years of fishing I've only ever broken 2 rods and that was when a motor fell over on them in the back of a pickup. I too wonder what some folks are doing to break so many rods
-
It's funny how we all look at things differently Mike, I sold all my St. Croix musky rods and replaced them all with Compre's As for the Fenwicks, one thing I've noticed on this board over the years is the high numbers of guys who complain about them breaking easily, infact it seems like they break far more often than any other brand.........at least that's the way I've always seen it anyways.

On my Hotmap for the West Arm there's a couple channel markers on the chart that are the wrong color, in that the chart shows the markers as green when infact their actually red and if your coming thru at night or in heavy fog and follow the Hotmap chart you'll be hi & dry on those nice little granite islands just outside the channel

I'm starting to feel REALLY old, cause I still remember when I was a kid in the 50's and everything was delivered right to your door, bread, milk, ice for the ice box and coal for the furnace, and it was delivered by HORSE & WAGON ... and that was in Toronto. Even the sheenyman came by horse & wagon to pick up your junk....for FREE Us kids were friends with all the drivers and they'd let us ride the horses down the street while they made their rounds. Today if a driver took the kids for a ride in his truck he's prolly get sued I guess we were the rich folks on the block cause Dad made a whopping $25 a WEEK so we could actually afford a black & white TV........with a huge 6" screen As for the new electronic world, I feel like I've been left behind because I don't even know what 1/2 the gadgets are that folks talk about anymore....what the heck is a Napster ??

Fantastic work Bernie, your friend has some excellent talents !!

My 2005 Safari pulled my 1650 Crestliner with no problems at all, infact I'd hardly even feel it behind the van. When I bought the 3000 + lb. Skeeter package last spring though, the Safari would still pull it on level ground OK and the stopping wasn't a problem either with the trailer brakes, but it got to be a bit of a struggle on long steep hills. The Safari has a pretty strong engine but definetely has it's limits. Now that I've purchased the new F-150 with the 5.4 engine everything's gonna be good. Not sure of the weight of your Ranger combo HTHM, but I'm guessing around 3000 maybe ?? If your full sized van is a V-8 you shouldn't have a problem.

Not necessarily so with everybody Bob, I smoked for 30 years and have now been off them for close to 20 years, and I won't allow anybody to smoke in my boat, truck or especially my home. It's got nothing to do with laying crap all over anyone and my sense of pride for kicking those filthy things is for me alone and as for withdrawal, quitting never bothered me so I'm certainly not ugly about it. The plain and simple truth is that now, the stench from 2nd had smoke makes me want to puke so I'd just as soon not be around anyone who does smoke. I've certainly got nothing against smokers and have NEVER suggested anybody should quit, I'd just prefer you don't do it in or on anything I own. So to answer the original question as to whether smoking affects your fishing success, I guess the answer would be that yes, in MY boat your success would be VERY poor
-
I'll agree with all the others Chris, that's some pretty impressive work. Very nice indeed !!

Yup, makes you wonder eh Raf ?? One of the best musky reels on the market yet they don't make it available to all fisherman. Course if you guys would learn how to cast properly there wouldn't be a problem
-
I used a gold BG 7000HS for 2 years for jerkbaits and it was a decent reel, then one day on a cast a metal piece snapped off inside and ruined the reel. Trouble was I was leaving on a week long fishing trip in 2 days and didn't have time to get it fixed, so just went to the local tackle shop and picked up the red 7000. Never did get around to fixing it and it's still sitting in the basement getting dusty. For quality musky gear, Shimano is definetely the way to go.

May help you get some answers if you let us know what area you want to camp in. Ontario is a pretty darned BIG place
