  1. Yeah, that'll make him feel better.....
  2. So, your saying it's OK for some folks to fish around docks and boats, but not others ??
  3. Thanks for that MB, another excellent story with fantastic pictures too. Oh ya, some pretty decent fish too
  4. I'd be pretty pissed too if someone hooked the seat of my boat and I can't say I blame the guy at all for that letter. A little bit of common sense goes a long ways.
  5. All your fishing tales are incredibly entertaining Mike, but I think this is your best story & pictures yet. As the old expression goes, I felt like I was actually along for the trip. Just REALLY good !!!!
  6. $200 is also what I payed for the certificate in May.
  7. Yup, definetely a good pike and congrats on reaching your 40" milestone.
  8. Nothing last night either but when I was out on the back deck at 4:30 this morning a large bright meteor shot across the sky directly overhead. Not exactly the Northern Lights but still a heck of a nice way to start the day.
  9. Good to hear you enjoyed your day off on the water Mo, and even got yerself a fish too We had a couple nasty little mini-storms go thru here this afternoon with high winds and heavy rains but it sounds like you missed them on the Bay....fortunately.
  10. It's very dark here at night and last night cleared up beautifully with even the stars shining but the Northern Lights failed to show up. Hopefully tonight.
  11. Thanks Ron, next time I'm down that way I'll stop in for a look.

    uh oh

The embarrasment in front of his peers will probably hurt alot more than a monetary fine. How could you ever face anybody again ??
  13. I'm not familiar with BJ's but it's nice to hear of folks who will step up and help out a couple total strangers.
  14. Congrats to your daughter Dave, that's one heck of a catch
  15. I picked up a small dry bag from LeB's a few years back and it works well. Maybe 6" X 15" or so.
  16. And also the bigger the bait, the wider the wobble. I normally run the 10" models which have a fairly wide action, but I also use 13" versions(straight) and they cover twice as much ground again. Excellent trolling baits !!
  17. The lakes are drained down a few feet in the fall so as not to have any flooding in the spring when the snow melts. Trouble was, Ontario had very little snow last winter, along with a dry spring, so there was no spring runoff to fill the lakes again. A normal snowfall next winter should bring things back to where they should be......hopefully
  18. Aikmens is excellent and will give you an honest price.
  19. Alot of folks have reported slower than usual fishing on the West Arm this year (me included) and in my opinion it's just a temporary thing with the very low water levels and the late start to the weeds. Course I'm no expert either....
  20. This mornings news was talking about a larger than normal solar flare recentely which should give us a good display of the Northern Lights tonite and again tomorrow night. Guess I don't have to tell ya that you need to be facing north to see them
  21. Don't know why the insurance company wants the angles of your pipes changed to go straight up but perhaps there's some kind of safety issue with your current set-up. Just give them a call for an explanation. Running pipes out thru the wall with a 90 and then another 90 going up outside with a stainless chimney is a common & perfectly acceptible & safe practice. I just had a stove installed downstairs in the family room in May and that's the way mine was done. The only other option was to go thru the family room ceiling into the living room above, then up the wall in the living room next to a fireplace then out thru that ceiling and then thru the attic and then thru the roof. I'd then have to box the whole thing in which I didn't want to do. It'd be interesting to hear why your insurance people want you to run the stove pipes straight up. Here's a look at my install, is this similar to what you have ?? The cement pad under the stove is to protect the carpet.
  22. Thanks for the up-date Joey and good to hear the weeds are filling in as they were very sparse a month ago, so things should be good in a couple weeks.
  23. I HAVE been there.........40 years ago One upsidedown boat, 3 guys in the water, and ALL the tackle lost. At least we didn't have to worry about losing an expensive Blackberry though
  24. Link doesn't work here either but I caught part of the story on Global. Sounds like they were near the railway bridge just downstream from the Peace Bridge when the boat sunk. Pretty sure they said there were 11 people on board but they all got rescued safely. As I say though, I only caught part of the story but I think that was the jist of it.
  25. Thanks for that splashhopper, that was one of the best fishing tales I've read in a long time...really enjoyable
