  1. I want it all. When I win the big Lotto I will get you that barge Brian. I promise and a promise from me is a signed contract. I'll get you other guys those lures.
  2. Any boaters and fishermen out here that have heard of Deck Shoes. I have a few pair. Great support, comfort, traction and water resistant. None come in Camo and none made in Vietnam. You won't find a good pair at Giant Tiger or Wally World. My wife and her sisters call Giant Tiger GT Boutique. Many of my T shirts, jammies, underwear, socks, wooly hats, jackets, hoodies, watches, gloves, KD, eggs, butter, canned corn and sweats to name a few garments and stuff come from there, I'm no fashion or foodie snob. If you like Krocs God bless you, you aren't getting in my boat though. And don't think you are sneaking them onboard. I check for contraband, booze and footwear.
  3. When someone apologizes to me for being delayed a few seconds I say the few seconds may be the time I will be late coming to an intersection that some transport blew through the stop, they may have saved my life by delaying me. Or vice versa come to think about it. engineering there is the sinusoidal curve, when more than enough factors meet at the bottom of the curve at the same time is the "stars aligning" for a catastrophic event.
  4. A great way to turn an ankle, no support and,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I'll stop there. When I get new runners I would cut the heel out of the old ones then turned an ankle bad. I've sprained my weak ankles wearing steel toe work boots laced to the top let alone those abominations called footwear. I have a pal that is extremely homophobic, bad way to think, I told him they were popular amongst those that he doesn't understand, he threw all 3 pair out including the camo pair. There is another fishing forum in Ontario the only way to get booted is to admit wearing those things and Copyright infringement whatever that is.
  5. There should be a law enforced by the Fashion Police. I'll stop there before I get fined by Art.
  6. You had better check for a GPS devise they use in the movies to track your location Brian. And don't pick on the Russians, anyone knows they are speaking Croatian for God sakes. As far as came angles, 2" lower and that would be too close and personal. Who was on the camera before you got to the water? Stevie Wonder? Great vid kid, and nice fish. Don't let the little stuff bug you, life is too short, listen to me talk. I went off on an old guy today because he was wearing Kroks, bad enough Louis had those abominations on his feet, he had black knee socks on with shorts on to boot. I have to get him a subscription of GQ. Krocs are worse than 70's Disco music.
  7. Haven't heard from you for a bit, good to see your still around. Can't help camping. I have always called roughing it a 4 out of 5 star Hotel. Just wanted to say Hi. Many that have been here for a few years have bailed.
  8. There are 3 different types of driving, City, highway and country. City is gridlock driving, highway is gridlock driving 120K, then there's country driving, speed limits, flashing reds and yellows and stop signs are "suggestions". Our county, Haldimand, has less than 50,000 citizens, not all drive. We don't have a 400 100K max highway It seems weekly there are fatalities on our roads. A Selkirk stop is to look as far down the road and just blow through. I don't even see the person in front tapping the brakes on, many times, more like all the time unless traffic is coming. It's as dangerous as driving the 401 bumper to bumper doing 125KPH. Many stops here like the corner of Fisherville Rd. and Indian Line, RR3, the intersection has a 30 to 40 degree angle to it. You have to face the oncoming lane at a big angle to get sight line. If you don't, and many don't you are playing chicken. No one but Grand Pa Hoover does less than 110, and me. I get the finger doing 95. Mostly from truckers that do business at Nanticoke Refinery or Stelco. They think they are on the QEW or 400 series. I bet its the same in rural Sask.
  9. That's the reason we have a local Golf Tourney every Labour Day weekend and give 100% of the $$ raised to the person we have the fund raiser for whatver they wish.8K last year. 10 years ago I found out that the CEO of Juvenile Diabetes Canada If I recall was making around 2 million a year, yea right non-profit! Non profit my butt. Oh this site is driving me nuts, nothing seems to work, please Blue *16, Mayday, 911. We had 2 "Traffic Circles near where I gre up in Hamilton, the bottom of Flock Road and Kenilworth S. and at Queenston Rd. and Main St. I caouldn't count how many in southern England and other places across the World. They work there, why not Canada. Can you spell paradigm shift reluctance?
  10. Obviously the Judge didn't think he was neither a flight risk or likely to repeat the offence. I don't know if his licence has been suspended, has it?
  11. Chris is absolutely right, no need whatsoever to pay a lawyer for small claims court. I too filed 3 claims in Small Claims. Settled for about 80% twice outside the court room with the defendants lawyer and got in front of a Judge once and won. The problem with the case I won was it was a bogus contractor that had no way to pay up. You should file suit against both the dealership and the warranty scammers. I have an extended warranty with I don't even know who when I bought the Silverado brand new off the lot. I better dig it up because I have not had a claim either and may be eligible for a refund too. I have every service record since new. The dealer only did 2 oil changes and some brake and rear end work under new car bumper to bumper warranty. I have gotten all the service records for anything ever done, only tires, a battery and oil service in 7 years. My guy recently sent me PDF's of everything ever done to the truck. A big reason I go to 1 shop and only 1 for service for both vehicles, I'm big on that. No need for a lawyer. Bring suit against the dealer and if the judge says you need to go after the other guy it only costs you 75 bucks, easy for me to say I'm retired and have time to do that. If you insist on representation go the Paralegal route.
  12. Have a great time but stay safe.
  13. Huthch, how fast is fast enough?
  14. I'm not familiar with the "thrust feature until reading Craig's post, he knows his stuff . In a marine application in my opinion POWER always reigns supreme. Going to 150 Merc is a no brainer, I am a Merc guy. I don't believe 100 pounds makes enough difference not to power up. My kicker I put on the StarCraft weighs almost 100 pound, more with a full tank of fuel. I saw no measurable difference in top end speed or handling. I do agree hull design is a very important factor. Yes talk to a dealer, he will push what bring him more $$ unless he's a good dealer. l Blue if you are reading this per chance it took me 30 minutes to post this. Johnny D
  15. These aren't crack heads thieving for a fix. Sounds like pro's to me. I don't think the boat and O/B's will be recovered. Unfortunately their will always be a market for hot items. Even from businesses that appear to be reputable. I knew of a camp operator up north that had stolen property 40 years ago, i.e. boats and motors. He did get busted for possession of stolen property, he just claimed ignorance and got off lightly in my opinion.
  16. American ingenuity. The best in the World bar none.
  17. At least they didn't get wet. I can't see the plates on the truck but I would bet that crew is from West Virginia. Maybe Ohio, sorry my Buckeye friend. To tell you the truth I've seen just as bad or worse here on a weekend sitting on the patio at Hoover's Marina in Nanticoke On. Especially the Sunday afternoon of the Pottahawk weekend blowout bash.
  18. hello sir. I have a very close friend that owns a cottage at the south end of the lake near the girls camp. on the west side of the south end there is a nice shoal that drops off to deeper water and we found some nice 10 inch plus perch more than a few times over the years. we actually caught some nice size bows trolling shallow not far from the east shore, 10 pound plus. if I remember right we used lake erie walleye deep divers that go down around 15 feet only. a huge drop off very close to shoreno dipsy's, jet divers or heavy snap wts. it was the middle of august a few years back. left my boat at home and fished out of hid 14' tinny and 9.9. I love that lake and the bar in Sundridge good music and cold beer. think its called the caswell or something. sorry no capitals, woke at 3am and it felt like I broke my wrist. condra calcinosis. did nothing yesterday except use ratchet straps to tie down a counter top. I love this sr citizen thing, just love it. good luck enjoy and go slay em' johnny d
  19. It's supposed to be the cycle of Mother Nature, a forest burns to the ground and replenishes the Earth, except Mom is under stress of climate change. Not fake news. I never remember any 100F days when we were growing up. Believe you me when I was working in the Steel Plant the 1st thing you checked was the Weather Channel for the temp winter and summer. 88' was the 1st time I ever saw 30C predicted on day shift in August and those 30 plus temps lasted 2 weeks, one day hit 40C, a record in Hamilton. We had a frozen Blast Furnace Hearth that took 2 weeks to recover from and I lost the 25 pounds I gained when I was in Italy with my father and brothers just before the shut down, plus another 15 pounds. I looked svelte. We went through 2 @ 53' trailers of powdered Gator Aid. edit: I don't know if the formula for Gator Aid has changed over t years but back then it specifically said on the packages not to be consumed unless under conditions of dehydration. It is loaded with salt. Guys were taking pacs home and making jugs of it for the family using it like Cool Aid. Emerg rooms were inundated with children and adults with severe cramping over hydrated. We had to issue notices to read the instructions. I cringe when I see little kids drinking it like soda pop and Mom buying cases on sale. I mentioned it to one young Mom years ago and was basically told to mind my own biz. OK lady.
  20. Talk about jumping ship my kid brother would become the newest fan of whomever won the Cup or Lombardi the year before.
  21. During the RCMP Press Conf. this afternoon announcing the over 30 charges the spokesman said they had 125 officers and staff investigating from day 1. They made sure every i was dotted and every t was crossed. Before we get a lynch mob together and hang the accused ask yourself if you have never blown a STOP sign or gone through a red? I have and have been very lucky. When I was 17 with a new licence I passed a stopped School Bus on a very busy Hamilton street. I cried like a teen right there and then and thanked God I didn't kill a child. I can tell you I never did that again.
  22. Just curious, would that include a propane stove with open flame?
  23. Be careful, stay safe. It's just stuff.
  24. Great read. I am jealous as well. You guys slayed em'. I do have 1 word of wisdom through experience. Get something on your feet or whomever it is barefoot. Nothing like ruining a great trip because someone got a hook in a foot. Especially with a carpeted floor on a boat old rusty hooks hide just waiting to attack an unsuspecting foot. Been there done that. 2 of us lost an entire day to drive 2 hours each way to get a shot as they wouldn't treat my buddy at a Rez's 1st aid station, another story for another time. Every fall I find nasty rusted hooks buried in the carpet. Not as bad as sitting on 3 triple trebles though.
  25. Oh I won't pass up on any fish that comes in at 15 lbs. 4 of us hooligans were once booked to go to a freshwater lake in Cuba for Bass that big. That was 20 years ago and I can't even remember why the trip was cancelled.
