  1. Too soon? I don't know I missed a few medical classes in Epidemiology studies. I saw on TV that the Covid outbreak in NY is traced back to Europe not China.
  2. I have a 011' Silverado 350 cid. I go around 12to 13 K since the extended warranty expired and the % of oil life still shows around 30% to 40%. I don't get out on the 400 series highways much to give her a good run at 120KPH and probably baby her too much. 120KPH out here and I'm going to get jacked up for racing. One of our finest out here will ticket you for anything over 90 in an 80. Hack with your truck being newer you are probably still covered under a drive train warranty. Be careful going over the 10K oil service for warranty purposes. They will nitpick everything to get out of the warranty and they do.
  3. Hi Rick, hope all is well up there. Every time I see Pike Mike on TV I think of you. Oh yea and Bannock Bread, when I see it on the menu at the Rez restaurants I think of you too. Ticha's doing good, did you know that a cosmetician is an essential service position? Actually they basically closed her dept. and now she is the head security customer counter at her store. They only let 15 people in at a time and she chases them through the store telling them to get their allotment of toilet paper, pay and leave. With a please, thank you and a smile of course. Call me if you wish. No texting, I'm getting the O.A.S. pension.
  4. It's not the camping per se that the Gov. is banning, it's the getting to and from the crown land they don't want anyone to do. It's a form of a travel ban. If we don't get it we will be forced to follow what other countries are doing like Italy. Curfews.
  5. A very good video. Too bad the guy doesn't speak American, or Canuckian.
  6. If you can't connect with Cliff's son and I trust you will if you can't for some reason I highly recommend Proctor Marine in Simcoe On. They can get you anything marine related and will sent it to you. I have dealt with them for years and trust them and find their prices are very fair. It's good to know I am talking to a human being that I know and trust rather than fill out an order online from who knows where. Why buy online? I always deal with a bricks and mortar as locally as I can get than some obscure website. Yea I know, call me old fashioned. I like to support my neighbours, yea I'm old(er).
  7. Like living to a ripe old age? Sumptin' like that Beans? That's what I'm looking forward to Cliff, and if it means not taking the boat out well that's what I am going to do, look forward to living longer and doing my absolute best to ensure I am not the one that passes on this thing to people I love and care about, simple as that I am going to tell you all what I say to everyone I know that goes for a ride to get out of the house because they all say they aren't in contact with another soul and not harming anyone. The idea is that if for any reason 1st responders need to be called out resources are squandered. Vehicles should be on the roads for 2 reasons. 1, to get to and from work if you are considered to be essential. 2, to get to and from grocery stores, pharmacies and getting fuel to get to and back from an essential job. I think that is pretty simple. I won't delve into the discussion as to whom and what should or shouldn't be essential. I will say this though, our 1st responders are the most essential people we have right now. Please just stay home. It's tough, it's boring, it's terrible but it's better than being dead. I don't know how hard that is to understand. In my humble opinion and that of the leaders we elected to make the tough decisions for us just stay home. Nice fish but please just stay home.
  8. He is selling the stuff by the square. By weight it is more valuable than jeho today.
  9. This may hopefully dismay rumours circulating re: fishing. I was recently told by a friend that the fishing seasons have been cancelled. He doesn't fish. OFAH states. "We hope that everyone is staying safe and healthy in these unprecedented and challenging times. We also know that many of you have questions related to the impact this situation may have on your spring outdoors pursuits. With all of the rumours and speculation, the OFAH is pushing for answers from the government." At this point, the MNRF has not made any decisions to restrict, delay or cancel provincial fishing and hunting seasons or restrict access to Crown land. https://mnrwatch.com/covid-19-restrictions-and-closures-that-could-impact-fishing-and-hunting/
  10. When I say canning I'm talking about roasting them and jarring. Dad had a mini cask that everyone's wine vinegar came out of. Yes he saved much of the bad wine to top up the cask. He brought the "Mother seed" back with him on the plane from Italy in the 70's. That stuff was the best ever. Unfortunately the cask went dry and the vinegar was never the same again. I gave it to a pals son. He's not 30 yet and is carrying on all his families Italian traditions. Right down to the Lions next to the driveway and the big fountain in the back yard.
  11. Still not enough. I'm sure suspending hunting privileges in Ontario for life is going to stop these poachers from hunting ever again. https://mnrwatch.com/illegal-hunts-result-in-lifetime-hunting-licence-suspensions-and-almost-60000-in-fines/
  12. Good for you guys. The very 1st time I tried to can 5 bushels of Shepard peppers I ruined the entire batch. Never again. I'll stick to freezing stuff. I once tried to make homemade wine with Dad years ago. We ended up with about 300 bucks of wine vinegar. Never again.
  13. If you can launch at a private ramp or you have a dock at a cottage of course you can go fishing. They haven't banned fishing,,,,,,,,, yet. If you eat some of your catch you are actually doing a service to all if it keeps you out of a grocery store even once. And of course there is far less a chance of contracting this thing out in the middle of a lake than anyone that is essential and goes into work everyday. My wife for one. Rant deleted.
  14. And if you insist on having an outdoor fire and you burn your house down NO INSURANCE plus you may be on the hook for fire fighting related costs. Our county has been on a no burn policy since this C-19 thing started and I read the counties regs. on fires during a no burn period.
  15. Brian you get more done before I get up out of the sac than I do the rest of the day. I'm not just a member of "The Crack of Noon Club" I'm the president. I'm usually going to bed when you are getting up unless I'm going fishing or golfing. I loved night shift best. No such thing as sleeping in but I was known to set the alarm when we went on 12's. I agree with you on the red vs. green peppers. I will do green when reds are more than Kobe Beef a pound. The best ever were the light green peppers Dad grew in his garden for stuffed peppers.
  16. Yep, and the driver is a nut. My rig does 35 maybe, I for one have never got a drop on me out here pounding 4 footers. I can get real small tucked behind my full wind shield. I'll make you a promise because I like you. When I win the Lotto Max over 60 mil I'll buy you your new Bass boat. Let everyone here be witnesses.
  17. I would love to know how much $$ we have tied up in boats just by members of OFC? A lot. A few of the Rangers here is a cool 1/2 mil.
  18. Please everyone, please just stay home. The more diligent we are today the faster we will be able to beat this thing and go fishing. Set an example for others.
  19. No wonder most everyone in that country wants to move here for a better life. I have seen the scenes of people young and old picking garbage dumps for stuff they can trade or sell for food, or for the food for themselves. Now they can't, thus the protests perhaps. We don't know what real poverty looks like. This makes me wonder what is really going on in China today.
  20. Does your petition to include pay to launch private facilities as well? So they will all be free or does someone have to take your money by hand? I know guys have been using the Crystal Beach launch on Erie. Pay at the machine. While both arguments have merits I choose not to sign your petition. By the way with governments working around the clock shorthanded do you really think someone is going to take the time to even read the thing? I doubt it, they are kind of busy these days looking at ways to save lives.
  21. It's on sale for 49K. As far as paying more for a boat than a house my first house was 25K. Bass boats are specific, personally I wouldn't ever buy one. I can fish Bass in my 19' deep V StarCraft that has only about a 12" draught but I can't go out and troll for Pics in a Bass boat unless the water is dead calm. I went out in a co workers Bass boat for perch here on Erie. When the wind picked up I got a nice shower heading into port. It was in April and it was freekin' freezing and thought I broke my spine hammering those 3' ers at 50MPH.
  22. Anyone who ever tossed a line in Ontario knew the name John Kerr. If I'm not mistaken didn't he write for the Star as well? RIP.
  23. Yep predictable. How does a guy get swept down river for miles, fall 100' from a water fall into a plunge pool and the letter that was in his pocket is still readable? Bombshell came not even close to the HBO series concerning Roger Ailes and his female victims. The HBO series Westworld is one of our favorite HBO series. Ray Donavan as well but it has now been cancelled, too bad.
  24. They want your boat there while they do the cover.
  25. David are you looking for a similar style boat when you pull the trigger? The reason I ask is earlier in the month I was in Proctor Marine's showroom and they had a Crestliner 195 on sale for the high 40's regular price was around 65K if I can recall correctly. 200 HP Merc. It must be a new 2019. A great deal for anyone looking for a new boat this year at last years prices. I think Dany Columbi took me out on his 20' Skeeter on a Musky charter out of Sturgeon Falls 5 years ago. It was more Walleye boat than a Bass boat. I think he has more electronics on it than NASA's Apollo missions had in the 60's. No I don't think I know. http://www.proctormarine.com/showroom/2019-crestliner-1850-super-hawk-simcoe-on-n3y4r5/
