  1. Yep Jimmer, electricity I leave to the electricians or brave friends that think they know what they are doing, just like Surgery and Dentistry sometimes you just have to "call the guy". Although I have tried the last 2 as DIY, it worked out better than the 110 shock. An electrical story. My buddy who played D line in the CFL insisted he could hook up the 220 for the dryer. He tells me to shut off the power. The panel is 12' away. I am about to pull all the power in the panel and I hear a scream. He's flipping out because the power was still on. Like I said I don't know much about electricity but I do think if he got zapped with 220 me thinks he would be cooking like a side of beef, a rather large side. No matter he went well over 300 pounds at the time. I think he pinched his finger on a heavy gauge wire and did not get zapped, I don't know for sure. He didn't have any hair to catch fire but he sure was red after yelling at me for 5 minutes. You didn't want him angry with you.
  2. I don't think the Police would inform anyone of a murder while taking a report for vandalism, or did you ask them, why would you? That is strange, I may have misread what you wrote. I need to re read what you wrote. Yep I think I have it. I have never asked a Cop after I was pulled over if there were any murders lately. That might turn into an interview back at the station. It might not be a great idea to chase down anyone these days, especially over a mirror as well as you said they had some type of "weapon". What were you going to do if you caught them, yell at them to death? Let the Cops do their job so you can do your job the next day all nice and healthy. Is the pier still closed was the question.
  3. Just like with Motorcycles as a beginner never ride alone. You may think it is safe because you know the trail etc. but we can get over confident and decide that that creek looks easy. Overconfidence without experience is a bad thing. We found a buddy face up and out cold in a creek after he rolled a borrowed machine off the main trail and he had never ridden an ATV before, and no helmet. 12 staples to the noggin'. Had he been facedown he would be dead. This is not a stupid guy, my former business partner Type A personality with a overconfidence of all things. Always bring along a phone and tell someone of your plans and ETA if you insist going solo which you will. They may look like toys but they are not. Congrats on the buy and be smart which equals safe.
  4. I have some time in when I was a kid taking flying lessons at Mount Hope. Most of the runways were dead straight, actually all of them where. Those bush Pilots are real Cowboys that know how to. "Runway? I don't need no stinkin' runway!" Wowza! I can hear the Pilot saying to himself "Scotty we need more power!"
  5. I checked out a bad exterior light for days, maybe weeks at a new to me home. No way was I calling in a favour, how hard can it be to change a light bulb? Finally I found a GFI on a wall buried behind shrubbery. Someone had to tell me what it was and show me how to reset it. I am electrically challenged. I needed my Electricians at the plant change the batteries in my flashlight. I kid you not. I will not touch anything I can't see, smell, hear or feel since a 110 sent me 8' across a room cracking the drywall on my very first and last elec. DIY. My Dad and Father-in-law couldn't stop laughing as I cried messaging my elbows. Yea funny.
  6. My goodness gracious. It is incomprehensible how some people can be so evil. I hope the family of the victim may find closure, someone has been murdered and is obviously missing. If the body can be identified as female she couldn't have been in the water that long. My condolences. I hope they can solve this crime soon. So many unanswered questions here.
  7. I learned my lesson re: Outdoor GFI's years ago. The first think to check but someone mentioned it here early. Glad you have seen the light.
  8. The question is "Is it legal." I asked a Cop this AM and the answer was no it isn't. Urinating or defecating in a public place is illegal, as well one may be charged with indecent exposure as well. Having Diabetes I can tell you when ya gotta go ya gotta go. I will pull over and find a discrete area, out in the boonies that's easy in the city not so much. I know every washroom between here and Hamilton. If I can't get to one I find a dumpster behind a store is the most discrete spot. Car washes are good too. As for a 2pile, well that can be a challenge. Pretending to check wheel nuts works well as a camouflage. If anyone tells you they haven't had an "accident" since they were a baby they either aren't old enough yet or are lying. Everywhere I go I have a change of underwear, socks, shoes, hand wipes and toilet paper. Especially in the golf bag. Buddy lost his favorite golf towel once. I howled when he wondered how that towel fell off his bag!! In the boat I have a 1 bucket and 2pile bucket. Use your imagination.
  9. I am considering selling my StarCraft Superfisherman 190. A lot of boat for the money. 115 and matching 15 HP Merc. Mariners.
  10. Any investment councillor I have considered a prerequisite was to see where he lived and show me his portfolio, if he had one. The company you go with is only as good as the guy/gal you have. Many have a big hat and no cattle.
  11. Looks something like me and the boys first tinny. You MUST get that tongue weight correct. What you intend on doing at the bow is fine. There may be easier ways of mounting a troller. Home Depot has carpeting fine for a boat as long as you don't intend on leaving it open to the element. Sometime the difference between Marine and commercial carpeting is the price$$$. Actually there isn't any carpet that will take all the rain and snow.
  12. You need medical intervention.
  13. It's about time a judge issued decent fines for violations. Actually should have been more. http://mnrwatch.com/fishermen-fined-14900/
  14. That price seems steep for a 10 year old van. Best of luck to you.
  15. I don't hunt but a good pal does in the most God awful weather. He camo'd his inflatable PFD himself. Looks great. The only ice fishing I do now is looking in the freezer. I do miss it but my hands and feet don't. I did have to work in sub zero weather and bibs and coat beat a one piece. A one piece was far too confining especially when Mother Nature called.
  16. Shoot em' Cleetus, get da gun, shoot em' boy. That thing is Gator size. Congrats.
  17. I love boring. Same as when the Smallies here will hit a cigarette butt, boring. I didn't even watch the entire video, 20 minutes of jealousy. I knew you were slamming them.
  18. It was $1.09 before the first Cane, it was 1.15 today at Pioneer 1.25 last week, lets see where it settles at.
  19. I have seen male Smallmouth try and coerce 2 females to lay eggs on his bed at the same time. Then he deposits his "milt" on the eggs.
  20. The best suggestion I have read in a a hell of a long time, good for you Dave. I lived north of Hyde Park in the 70's and commuted from the plant in Hamilton. I could make it there in 40 minutes, or less if hammering it if I had a promise. Now it's 40 minutes from downtown Hamilton to the GO station in Burlington at 8AM, crazy.
  21. He's a beast for sure. Congrats to you Sir. I only wish. On a fly! I don't want to give you the standard "nice fish." It deserves more thought than that.
  22. Could be a Tiger, the best way to tell is the fins. Regardless she's a fatty. I don't remember which has rounded pec fins and which has pointed. Wait let me go look at the one I have in the kitchen mounted, hold on a second I'll go look. Many Musky experts has seen my mount and say it is defiantly a Tiger, the fins are pointed not rounded. It is difficult to tell by the vertical bands ans they vary. Joe Martin from Hamilton did it in 82' when catch and release had not yet been invented. The thing looks as good as it did coming out of his shop 35 years ago. He was the best. I don't know if he is still with us. He was one of the best in North America and had the awards to prove it. Even then I remember paying over $400.00 for the mount. One of my most treasured possessions I have. It may have lasted this long because of all the moisture and oil splash from me pretending to be a chef.
  23. Holy fish fins Batman!! That is one fat 39"er.
  24. A guy in Fisherville has one that's mint with original paint. I thought they were called "Little Red Wagon."
  25. Hamilton deserves a team. Every time the Baby Laffs played there it was a 18,000 seat sell out. But now the arena is outdated. The city can't even afford to repair the escalator. If not Hamilton Quebec City would be good. Anyone remember the Sabres Quebec City playoff rivalry? I can't even remember Quebec's team name, oh man this sucks, 62 and 11/12's going on 103. Nordiques!!!!!!!!!!!!!
